  1. There's a 6 page thread on it. It's a Brentford shirt they cry! Followed by many pointing out its not, its a Sunderland shirt from the 15/16 sayson, followed by recriminations of "mag", Adam Pearson is a paedo anyway, etc. It's like Cherry Knowles that place.
  2. Promotion Close Park. Next to: Yet so far street.
  3. So right now I'm watching this Greg Wallace miracle meat programme. This is so weird. It's clearly got to be a spoof but why? It's not April 1st. Best part was when the "scientist" said they couldn't clone human meat under EU law without Brexit happening.
  4. Aye, you know I fully agree. I'm in office today and will be returning your way 'cos I can't face the other way any time from noon onwards. But today I'm also having to manage kid pick ups, drop offs (holiday club things). Saturday I took a bus to go shopping. Tbf that worked out okay but in the past I've been waiting an hour for a fucking bus. We bought into the US style of life which relies on an automobile and it's just hard to go back now.
  5. Would you give BJ an bj for a life peerage? Entirely hypotthetical question.
  6. The Dutch don't make windmills like they used to, that's for shure. Keep away from the RLD MF, and keep us posted old chap. Love a holiday blog me.
  7. Petrol, ultra-efficient 3 cylinder, and we only have 1 car for 4 of us. Pretty much everyone else in the whole street have two or more, as I bet you do. Can't really afford anopther one tbh, the environment doesn't come into my decision making, I'm honest enough to admit it.
  8. Except clearly you are going to need somebody to wipe your arse in the OAP home? It's not like we should just stop breeding and the last pensioner left can turn off the light when they snuff it, because they will probably forget to.
  9. Translation: "I'm a fucking selfish cunt like every other fucker at the end of the day, I'm just too lazy to even bother virtue signalling now". I mean, you're argument here is similar to people who don't bother voting because one vote never changes an election really. And I don't entirely disagree. It's up to the government to incentivise behavioural change. My objection is with things like ULEZ where they screw the less well off, as usual. As for holidays, soon it will be too hot to go abrtoad in peak summer and there will be no snow left to ski in, so there's that.
  10. Anyway, my courtesy car hasn't arrived yet so I am officially a bus and metro wanker today. Fucking sucks even in a metropolitan area.
  11. Gemmill's right like, tackling climate change is incompatible with our political set up. I think we're fucked now, we've reached tipping point already. ULEZ though, what a fucking cock up, a highly regressive tax that fucks the relatively poor. Obviously unrelated to climate change, I've always been sceptical of the impact of car pollution on public health. If it were the case, why does London have some of the best health outcomes and longest life-spans in the country? [Disclaimer, I think this is true but not checked recent data]. Moving to clean forms of transport is clearly a good thing, but has to be done fairly.
  12. He cites another tweet from another climatologist as the source. I have no idea of this person's affiliations or motives, you're right to highlight that. The raw data is from here: https://climatereanalyzer.org/clim/sst_daily/ But its a subset of that dat (North Atlantic) apparently. I'm not a climatologist so personally can't verify these are a fair representation or not. As per the OP (HF), I am going to have to accept the experts in this field are correct (UN Climate change panel). Anecdotally it also feels correct to me. Greece is on fire.
  13. I agree. I reckon I've got a 20 year window in Costa del Tynemouth where I can grow olives and have a vinyard in my back garden, should see me through to end time, but might have to invest in a shot gun.
  14. Something seems to be going very wrong with the climate this year. Partly El Nino but that's just exacerbating things rather than causing them. No idea what the cause could be. Perhaps we just need to bury our heads in the sand a bit more. I've posted a snapshot of a graph below. For many other frankly very concerning data, read the twitter thread.
  15. Mackems being normal still I see. They missed their weird toon top thread so much when it was removed they promptly started another obsessive one. I honestly cant think of a more likable manager than Howe. Calm, collected, civil, rational and humble. Many of the qualities Keegan had but perhaps without the fire and emotion. Seeing how despite this he winds the mackems up is a sight to behold. Imagine getting worked up like this over a few tactical misdirections. Fucking mentalists.
  16. That's fucking shocking. Absolutely shit people can save and look forward to a holiday all year and this happens. Also shocking that we've another summer of extreme weather just at a time the tories are on the verge of being a climate changer denier party whilst dragging Labour with the hapless Starmer over with them. Sorry for the politics, but it is actually politics that has caused this and will continue to blight our kids lives.
  17. Whilst you're Mr Chilled, I was Mrs MF last week about the Lakes trip, fucking jet stream being as it is. And last Saturday driving there was biblical, fucking floated there. But actually we got some great days in between wet periods and got some cracking walks in. Just make the most of the windows I guess. Good luck! 👍
  18. Honestly man. It was what the AA charge (the AA being used as a free recovery service with something called Audi Assist) which was quoted to me (£299.95. to be exact). And they assured me as they weren't VW accredited mechanics, it would definitely invalidate my warranty. Now I've got it to an approved garage, it's free under warranty and I'm getting a courtesy car whilst all the electronics are checked. Again, something only a VW garage can do. So I'm not directly out of pocket at least. It's canny ridiculous now with modern cars that all have bespoke computer systems built in. Can only see it getting worse with EVs. It's not like you can pop your Tesla down to the Rocket garage in Cullercoats.
  19. Audi A3 the robbing cunts. So got the AA out again and he checked the battery which is completely fucked. Jump started the car but told me it wouldn't start again if I stalled it. Okay, haven't stalled this car before but now the knowledge of this has given me Jimmy legs. Then I'm driving and because the electrics aren't working and neither are any of the assist features including hill assist, so for the first time in 6 years I'm driving a car where I have to use the hand brake, knowing if I stall I'm fucked. The kid 2 gets car sick starts throwing up. Then Granny has cramp and a panic attack. Kid 1 inexplicably opens the door on the motorway. Back at the garage now, handed in my car keys a gibbering wreck. And they wonder why I have anxiety issues.
  20. On holiday in the lakes. Car wouldn't start second day, got AA out, they charged it enough to drive, but the battery is fucked, won't hold the charge properly. £300 for a new battery but that invalidates the warranty so I need to get to an official garage. Advised me to run it every day which I did, and it worked. Until I have to come home today, and now the fuckers dead again. Rats cocks. Waiting for the AA again, with enough luggage to fill an HGV, a wife, a granny, two bored kids. Granny has lost her medication and is getting ill. Im bankrupt as its 15 quid for a shitty burger here. I've been holidaying with my brother and family for a decade but I've belatedly decided that thus holiday is a source of my anxiety, not a release, as was proven by last year. Never again.
  21. Imagine. The mythical age of the great Durham mines. A time when:: Capital punishment was used. Men could legally rape their wives (1999 that one) Homosexuality was illegal. Pit villages were theocratic hell holes where you had to go to church on your one day off a week. Etc. Imagine.
  22. Literally none of this would have happened if we hadn't had a good season just gone. They are fucking mental.
  23. Oh noes. Not losing the freedom of the city!
  24. 37 page thread on this since the weekend. Marvellous. Mackem fewm and indignation could solve the energy crisis if properly harnessed.
  25. At least they've taken down the shirt, marra.
