I mean to be fair despite popular received wisdom, there's no real pharmacological reason not to drink with antibiotics with a few exceptions - metronidazole being the main one. Obviously drinking when you are ill isn't recommended and you're likely to aggravate stomach issues you may have with the antibiotics. From what you've said this bloke has quite a serious alcohol use disorder and it looks like it is only heading one direction.
