  1. Fuck them, I hope they're seething, the utter cunts
  2. Might be wrong but I thought there was initial talk about using empty luxury housing in the borough as a temporary measure (arguably mooted for political reasons / to make a point and unlikely to happen at a guess) whereas this is a more permanent solution. I don't know that they're finished necesssarily.
  3. Aye, fair point, I wasn't saying they would own them, that was more of a follow-on from KD's comments. I think sometimes it's a mix of both though, aye? Anyway, not relevant either way in this case as you say.
  4. They aren't but the re-sale value would still be a fortune in this case. Incidentally, all the bits of affordable housing I've seen locally are part of the same housing estate with the same access roads etc. Although I don't imagine in this case they'd have access to the luxury gym, swimming pool etc. Not that it would matter because none of the people who buy the dear ones will be living there.
  5. Probably or at least some meeting half way. I don't think he'll have been on a great deal of money anyway. Perhaps I'm being too optimistic but I see this as another battle won by Rafa.
  6. I think there post-Allardyce (where Ashley probably had some justification in thinking the staffing was excessive) and pre-Rafa (hopefully, at least) it's been an issue throughout the club in general.
  7. I almost mentioned him as it happens
  8. Probably a similar situation with Carr whereby even if he was a good scout did he have the support network required?
  9. Had too much influence and was, in effect, the DoF. Again, I think that's down to the owner being a bit clueless and also perhaps being loyal to a fault with the people he trusts.
  10. I think affordable housing is often owned by a housing association then rented to the residents, rather than always being owned by the latter. In either case, they wouldn't be giving them away and I think there's restrictions on reselling timescales etc. anyway but if they are housing association they may well be offering to permanently house these people there, although you'd have thought they would have a big waiting list of people already wanting to move in to these flats.
  11. Not to mention the other residents.
  12. It's mainly about them two making absolutely shitloads of money I reckon. And making even more money off the back of it. I think it raises the profile of both sports though. I've had people talk to me and ask me about it who have no interest in boxing or combat sports in general. That'll only be in short-term though and may be counter-productive to both once the fight has actually happened. I'll probably watch it but I certainly wouldn't pay for it. Good luck to the pair of them like, don't really have an issue with it because it's clearly a fight that loads of people want to see. Barring something very remarkable it's not even a contest though. I think it'll be a stoppage for Mayweather even if he's at 75% of the level he was even 3 or 4 years ago, never mind his prime. I know his KO record was poor at the end of his career but I think it'll be stopped due to the volume of punches landed at least. Between now and it happening you'll be able to see who is mates with McGregor in the boxing fraternity as they'll be the ones giving him a chance to add to the hype. I think McGregor 'wins' if he doesn't get hammered
  13. The bastard, following correct protocol.
  14. I meant I don't see McGregor going the distance unless Mayweather lets him.
  15. It's a fix if it goes the distance
  16. Amazed neither him or any of his other mates made a fortune out of professional pugilism back in the day tbh. Sounds like it would've been a doddle.
  17. Even if it's just brinkmanship it shows the coalition (which it is, in effect, even if they aren't calling it that) will be an uneasy one
