  1. In the politics thread you said you didn't even vote for Corbyn last time round
  2. Fwiw the original comment wasn't aimed at you because I didin't even know you were a member. Revealing that makes your position even more ridiculous however given you've already stated you wouldn't even vote for the party in an election  Fucking priceless tbh
  3. With members like you, who needs Tory voters?
  4. Don't have a problem with that. However, this is more a case of signing up, voting in a fucking car crash of a leader then leaving again after alienating the people who been activists for years.
  5. Yeah, same thoughts as you really. Haye's a massive favourite who should win but when was the last time he fought anyone? Can't see either of then holding back anyway
  6. Looking forward to the Haye v Bellew fight.
  7. They can't have it both ways anyway, if they've got less fans because of that then they're admitting they're smaller. The boring fuckwits
  8. They've only got the European Cup really as an argument they're bigger than Spurs and Everton anyway. I think both clubs have similar trophy hauls than Villa and both have more success in recent years to point to (if you're going to cite the European Cup in '81 as a success then you have to include all the success of the other two in the 80s etc.) Like you say, it makes no sense on any level whatsoever.
  9. He was 2nd longest serving at one point (in the PL) iirc
  10. Aye, just like Real Madrid. I realise you're taking the piss but it's become the biggest load of bullshit in English football folklore that stability breeds success. It's the other way round but it's all predicated on one set of circumstances and a unique manager* at a massive club, i.e. Ferguson at Man Utd. The stability breeds success line is symptomatic of the absolutely shit and lazy levels of analysis amongst far too many journalists and pundits when it comes to English football. Which brings us back nicely to Paul Merson. *I know all managers are unique
  11. Even based on historical success it's a ridiculous argument, they won the European Cup in 81 but they'll have fans who are middle aged too young to remember that. Of their 7 league titles, only one is after the War (that's the First World War). And they haven't won anything at all for over 20 years. Chelsea have won about 15 major trophies (more if you include Charity Shields and the Uefa Super Cup) since they last won a trophy. Edit: Not to mention the fact they've won more trophies overall too.
  12. I read that too. It's not the law as such I suppose, it's the fact they're being directed not to sentence people like that to save money. Same difference like
  13. Fair enough if it had been Chop brown sauce.
  14. The stupid thing is, and I suppose Merson is thick as bull's lugs so it shouldn't come as a surprise, Benitez is good at getting results and getting the best out of his squads. He's not just some chequbook manager who just signs superstars. He's very tactically aware and pragmatic. Not to mention having loads of experience of managing in this country. The comments are just borne out of what he hoped would happen.
  15. Reminded me of this btw: http://www.lolfootball.com/paul-merson-quotes/
  16. Unless she was fit because that's the only time he would have.
  17. Considering luminaries like Paul Merson (who lets face it is not only very intelligent but also has an impeccable coaching pedigree) had written Rafa off in terms of being able to manage a side in this league then he is doing quite well I suppose.
  18. She's one of them ladies who lunch
