  1. I think, as J69 was saying, Townsend has looked quality but when did he last show that form? Loads of players have burst onto the scene then never been able to repeat that form. I'd worry he's a flash in the pan. If Spurs do hold out for £16m you're talking about an outlay of over £20m on him. If he was the difference between staying up and going down it would be worth it but it's a big 'if'
  2. I think Perez has looked decent at times there this season but on the whole think he's struggled for form a bit. In any case I would expect the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 to interchange and all look to link up with the lone striker. It's a slightly different role to playing wide in a 4-4-2 / 4-3-3 where I think he probably would struggle (and Townsend would be more suited). We do need to improve the squad long term but if we're spunking that sort of cash now it really should be on guaranteed starters
  3. Aye, I had guessed you weren't on about the bloke from Blake's 7
  4. Even though the first caption suggests it's closer than Pluto at approx 20 AU. That's the crazy, lefty Grauniad for you
  5. A good while back. I was quite surprised like Apparently he's amassed a large property portfolio. They should've got Robbie Fowler to do it instead.
  6. I don't think Perez is wasted out wide, especially in our system. I think he's a good player with nice touches, good vision and an ability to finish well but I don't think he's in the game enough and ready to dictate play in the way you would demand and expect of a no. 10 in the Premier League. Townsend would provide a different type of option but I don't think he's as good as Perez and wouldn't necessarily improve the first XI. Even more so were we to sign Berahino which should be more of a priority.
  7. Aye, the idea of a team in the bottom 3 spending that sort of money on someone who might not start is so ludicrous we'll probably do it
  8. Said a while back that Stallone has basically become his Spitting Image puppet now.
  9. Nah, I didn't think it was a documentary.
  10. It was and I thought that at the time but liked it probably because I love that film as well. It was one of the first TV series I can remember where the production values, if that's the right phrase, were comparable with Hollywood films, as opposed to seeming a bit cheap and nasty by comparison.
  11. A fit (ha!) Taylor is a better fullback than Dummett mind.
  12. One of my favs was the one set in the wilds of Alaska with the alien parasite from (I think) the first series. Creepy as fuck.
  13. Some talk about Steven Taylor being back in the squad. Like a (shit) new signing
  14. Bought the album the day it came out. Nearly 20 years old ffs
  15. Quite happy with neither Townsend or Sissoko being on the pitch tbh
  16. As Gemmill would say, that last sentence needs workshopping
  17. Does he look ugly and a bit weird like?
  18. Getting rid would make more sense. Not sure what the implications would be for those in one though. Automatic free upgrade to full-on get the government involved in your love life? Because, to be honest, that doesn't make any sense to me either
  19. Aye, that would be my reservation there re: two up top. I think I would tend to have a starting XI with Mitrovic as a lone striker and Berahino wide but would like to see them tried together too. Agree about Wijnaldum being better in the middle.
