It's been a problem since Strauss retired so it's obvious no one has fully staked a claim. As for a spinner, we need a consistent one before we start talking about match winners. As for keepers, I think Bairstow is good enough with the gloves and it's just a question of whether he can get the runs. Deserves his chance though as has been discussed. Some good lessons learnt this series I think but it probably raised more issues that it resolved. Also, I see Tom Graveney has died. Was born at Riding Mill. Supposed to be a very elegant batsman although I only knew him as a commentator. Once saw him and a few other stars from years gone by at the lunch break during the Callers Pegasus International Cricket Festival in about 1990. Think Ray Illingworth, Fred Trueman, Denis Compton and Tony Lock were amongst the others there. RIP.
