well, yes. There was a spell of games in December when we were unrecognisable. Looked out on our feet. Results have massively improved but Villa away was the only game of 2024 where we looked like we did last season. We’re not quite back to reproducing that form on a consistent basis even though players are starting to return. It does feel like we’ve turned a corner and can attack the second half of the season. 6th/7th and a cup semi final would still be a pretty good season. -

He looked like he did when he first signed today. Feels like that was the first time he’s played further forwards for about a season. A reminder of what we’ve been missing, if only we had a natural DM to unleash him further forwards. I’m not convinced Miley is that player but it’s a start

looked like a red card when they slowed it down but it’s Newcastle so obviously VAR didn’t look at it -

Absolutely nothing going for us this season. The state of that deflection. The same problem persists. We can’t control games the midfield is imbalanced. Miley at DM hasn’t fixed it. That’s no one’s fault. We’ve been fucked by injuries and ffp on that one. The other glaring issue is Burn remains a liability at left back against pace. That one is on Howe -

Are we not still allowed to pass comment on the obvious squad deficiencies or when Howe makes poor team selections? I wouldn’t be against moving Burn back to CB and giving schar a run at DM when he can hit them like that! -

we need a defensive midfielder - 17 year old Miley seems to be playing that position today. we also need a new full back - Dan Burn looks exactly like a 6ft 7” centre half playing out of position when he’s up against a pacy right winger -

I like Dan burn but he just hasn’t got the pace to play fullback against Elanga. It’s obvious -

Burn at fault for the goal yet again with this lack of pace exposed -

Eddie is stubbornly loyal. How Burn starts after his last couple of performances against pacy wingers and the memory of the last time he faced Elanga still fresh is beyond me. He’s got a lot of faith to repay -

Have you seen how much muscle Joelinton has stacked on since he’s been with us? -

The main takeaway for me is the leniency shown to PL stars - testing is apparently infrequent and easy to evade. PL stars are said to be unlucky if they are tested twice a year. The truth is PADs are rife in all elite sport and the PL is a cash cow. Too much money involved for them to take it seriously. Easier to turn the cheek while the product is so successful and the money is rolling in. -

I made the mistake of going to the big market for a few after the West Ham game last season. It’s worse than I remember
