Exactly. We're down to one quality striker in the books. The fact shola is now our second choice and Ranger third says it all. Shola should be 4th choice and Ranger rotting in the reserves

it's a disaster that we are where we are after last season. at this stage of the season we should up there with everton and spurs just behind the top 4, not languishing just above the relegation zone. classic case of going backwards by standing still and not investing and building on last season's success.

the most worrying thing for me is the spirit that got us through so many games last season seems to have gone. the football was never the best last season. but the way we capitulated at arsenal and the complete lack of ideas after everton went ahead other than punting it forward to shola was worrying. the will to battle until the final whistle seems to have gone the same way as our form.

he's got enough good performances in the bank to be forgiven for his poor form of recent months, particulalry given the way the team as a whole has been playing.

i like santon. he's comfortable on the ball and offers a threat going forward from left back that we've lacked from the right back all season. he needs to work on his positional awareness and discipline though. ryan taylor improved massively at that last season so i'd hope it's something that can be coached into santon by our current staff too. he's clearly got ability.

can you not? it says we might return to a striker in the summer and instead rely on signing a younger striker instead of the two senior strikers we actually need. so we're looking at cisse, shola, ranger and potentially one other young striker as our options for the rest of the season. if that's the case and cisse gets injured, i wouldn't fancy us to get the goals needed to avoid a relgation battle.

great, let's see out a relegation battle with cisse, shola, ranger and younger player as our striker options up front. genius.
