  1. bryan robson - sicknote. butch 'the crab' wilkins - an england internationl should be able to pass the ball forward as well as sideways. hugo viana - european young player of the year? couldn't even play defensive midfielder tbh
  2. Turned us down to stay at league 2 Bradford ffs. Ashley probably offered him ten bob a week and a bonus made up entirely of single digit sports direct vouchers
  3. his wages were probably better at bradford than what ashley was offering him
  4. fuxking shit. sucide watch tbh. most depressing day of the year no doubt
  5. It was always difficult to see posh and becks trading sloane square for eldon square. Still, could pave way for us to get bentley in.
  6. This one could go either way. One big partnership is all we need but if we get out for close to their total, they'll fancy squaring the series. Tbf to the Aussies, most of the wickets on this series have been result wickets with something in them for batters and bowlers. Ecb take note! No more chief executive pitches next summer please
  7. I've got the fear about going back to work already and it's still two days away
  8. Same here, I go for a drink sometimes with them. The bloke directly next to me we have a love hate relationship, he loves me and I hate him. Nar he's areet, you need to have a drink on board to fully appreciate him. I should tell them to come on here cos they're EXACTLY like how HMHM comes across on here, actually learn things about the toon off them. I wind them up cos they're from Dunston and Whickham (well one from Kenton originally). I sit right at the front of Level 7 I love me seat but if I had CT next to me praising FCMA at every opportunity I'd launch him off the fuckin balcony/ About to have the most exciting team since the entertainers and your still on Mikes back. How do you figure that? We're still not out of the relegation battle. Nowhere near sir bobby's side let alone close to keegan's side
  9. Agree, i thought he was the one weak link at the back. Rushed in possession, every clearance was a long ball where the others tried mostly to play it out. That's always been Taylor's game, he has pretty poor vision on the ball which thinking about it really would preclude him from being a decent fullback. Williamson is more or less the same. Coloccini loves to play it out, a little too much for this level where he can't outskill the opposition like he did in the Championship. I think williamson is tidier in possession to be fair to him. Taylor only just back from injury but im not sure why he's walked straight back into the side. We have looked tightest at the back so far this season if you ask me when the back four has been: Simpson Williamson Collocini Enrique Cringeworthy that he did that again today. Not quite as blatant as other earlier efforts but he definitely felt for his chest when it hit his arm. Yeah but can he do the block it with yer arm and pretend it hit your chest trick?
  10. The thing is we didn't score more mainly because our strikers and final ball are piss poor. The only hardlines was Taylor's header - the rest were poor imo. Ameobi had had a good game to be fair, that early miss aside. I think he does better generally when playing as the main striker and getting up for flick ons than trying to play off someone like Carroll. He was equally useless trying to get on to Shearer's flick ons. But he won pretty much everything in the air today that came his way, scored the winner and put himself about - we didn't miss Carroll today thanks to him. I wouldn't have fancied best on from the start, even against a team as crap as wigan. Hold on, we had enough final balls to miss those above and probably more. I agree Ameobi and Lovenkrands were poor, but they could have gone in and it was just one of those games. I still think the overall play / creative play was very good, particularly first half.

  13. jonas and routledge are mirror images of each other. good dribbling and pace, zero end product. routledge should just keep on running , get to the byline and pull one back on the deck. he beats men whenever he runs at them but his crossing from out wide is absolute crap. we've got a few winnable games coming up now. west ham at home, mackems away, fulham away...even spurs at home.
  14. great result. much needed and deserved three points. these are the sorts of gaes we need to be winning to stay up. four points over the two games against the likes of wigan is par. we never got the goal the performance deserved so it was a bit nervy at the end even though wigan offered fuck all.
  15. Barton would go in the middle with tiote, bentley wide right. Ben arfa or Jonas wide left. Ben arfa or Nolan or new striker up top alongside Carroll. Cant see how he wouldn't be a better option out there than our other right wingers on the books. Barton has done a job there but his best position is centre mid.
  16. he could be a ledge up here like he was in blackburn; the main man again. get him signed.
  17. you need a boozy night out with your pals, hopefully a one night stand or failing that a strip bar. that'll take the edge off for starters.
  18. Harper for me too. And i agree this game is massive. The league is getting too tight for comfort.
  19. Surprising how many people turning noses up at keane given he'd walk into our starting 11

Strange hotel that. When I stopped there everyone was dressed in black. It was a tad surreal. Had a trendy nigh club underneath where Ridley Scott and a few celebs were celebrating something? The breakfast was crap so maybe an early morning trip to McDonalds might be a good idea. it was a last minute mystery hotel, not first choice but close to everything. It's a nightmare getting south on nye cos they shut all the bridges. We can see the fireworks from our room though which is nice as the mrs is too big to be tackling the crowds

    New Year

Just checked into the park lane hotel for the night then dinner at tamarind later. Just me and the mrs. She's pregnant and off the booze so having a chilled pampering night just the two of us
  22. Typical toon winger, talented and frustrating.
  23. a loan deal with spurs paying some of his wages would probably be the only option.
