Just reading that his father died during the election campaign and that he was heartbroken to have lost his seat in said election. I really hope these added stresses didn't lead to him feeling like he needed a way out. He also leaves a 10 year old son

Sad to hear this. Seemed like a decent man who was in politics for the right reasons but had his demons that it seems he couldn't overcome. RIP

Yeah, I was 13 and that was bad enough. He's doing okay, just itching like mad - which frankly he could've done at his dad's! (Quite glad he's home and I can fuss over him actually..)

Had a child-free, work-free bank holiday in prospect with nice plans for pub visits, dinner and a bit of music later. Then I got a call saying the bairn has just started with chicken pox and wants his mama. Footy on telly, popcorn and Virasoothe it is then...

To be fair it reminds me of what you look like when you rattle on about how great you are... Mwah

Strange couple of days. One of the lads at work went home as normal after his shift on Wednesday night and then we got a call early Thursday morning to say he'd passed away suddenly. He died in his sleep apparently - simple as that. He cheerily said goodbye to everyone at 6pm, was meant to be back in work at 8 the next morning and then was just.... gone. It's left everyone shellshocked. Certainly makes you take stock of who and what is important in amongst all the day-to-day shit that we grumble about.
