  1. All Blacks swat aside Australia. This place will be jumping all week, yay!
  2. I'd don't need to look to know mine will be shit. Nz has second class infrastructure. Think Poland.
  3. On that showing I think both nz and oz will hump France by 30 points. Wales would've won if they could kick a football. Like you say they should have dropped for goal but they made a mess of the attempts they had. French very lucky. I'm impressed my post was vaguely coherent as it was about 2 in the morning and I'd just got in. Saw the spear tackle on telly and I think it was harsh to red card him, even though technically correct. Spoilt the game though.
  4. Regardless of a persons stance on the monarchy, god save the queen has to be one of the most boring national anthems going. It is basically a dirge, devoid of a decent tune or any emotion other than crushing boredom. We'd be better off with something from the Beatles or the Stones, or maybe a bit of led zep.
  5. I went to the France vs wales match tonight. The French were woeful and if they play like that in the final, will be 'umped by nz or Australia. Basically france struggled to contain a 14 man team and kicked at every opportunity....it was abit like watching England.
  6. The previous proposal "Old Fart in New Boxers" did not go down well apparently.....
  7. Don't really think he's a good squad player. Just think of how much weaker we will be with him in the team in place of Caybaye or Tiote. We would struggle massively with him there against anyone half decent. I understand that as a backup player he's never going to be as strong as our first choice or he wouldnt be back up but we really should have someone capable of challenging for a place which is something he'll never do. In an ideal world yes, but unless you are Man U then quality players wont sit on the bench for an extended period of time. Obviously I understand that and I'm not expecting us to have players as good as Cabaye or Tiote to bring in but we need someone who won't drop our standard to far and can hopefully improve his game to the point where he can push the two in possession of the first team places. Guthrie will never be able to do that. Maybe we'd be better off trying to bring through a player like Abeid or a reserve player, or even a promising kid, rather than someone who's no better than a championship player....
  8. One film I've always steered well clear of. Edit: although I watched the Leslie Nielsen spoof It's an excellent film in my opinion, not too scary but it's atmospheric and very well crafted. I think it's its reputation more than anything. I prefer my horror more slapstick, like The Evil Dead or Shaun of the Dead......

  10. He would've got away with it if he hadn't sent in the following note to the race organiser: I see you are still having no luck catching me. I have the greatest respect for you but Lord! you didn't see me get on the fucking bus did you? Your boys are letting you down. Yours, the twat in 3rd place.
  11. They are. Welsh Magpie, they are. In pairs
  12. I watched Salems Lot (Stephen King story, David Soul in the lead) when I was alone at night on a farm in my teens and nearly shat my pants. It's probably quite tame by today's standards. I watched any number of scary movies ripped to my tits in my 20s and couldn't tell you a thing about them. I guess the context is all important.
  13. What do they do? Hang around the meat counter and tell passing blokes they'd like a bit of sausage?
  14. Agree with that, however the threat (of an injury recurrance, and similar impact related injuries) with HBA is greater. Opposition outfields (with a hatchet-man) will set their radar on him, due to the fact that when fit he is the 'key man' in the final 1/3, particularly in the hole where he is more vulnerable to the attention of a loose playing defensive midfielder ie. De Jong. We have little to offer in the form of that ability, to shift the focus away from him. With the likes of Man C and Liv, the attacking threat is more widespread Sorry but you don't buy a Ferrari to park in the garage and catch the fucking metro. Point is when that Ferarri has just had major extensive work done and been off the road for some time you don't want to take it out for a fang on Nurburgring without a few more km on the odometer on some more friendly drives. I reckon the Ferrari should come back from the repairers as good as new, fuck it I'll have spent enough on it, I want to take it out for a workout not a namby pamby friendly drive. If it's not in tip top condition, I reckon I'd want to send it back and get it sorted our properly, I mean it probably costs a fortune to get your Ferrari repaired, so you want it sorted right away. Otherwise you'd want to fuck it over and claim the insurance, then get yourself another one you can use. Or maybe even a different supercar, maybe something a bit more reliable than the Ferrari, possibly a nice Porsche. In fact it's quite likely your faith in Ferraris would be damaged by now so you'd probably want to get something different anyway.
  15. Brewce must be feeling like the fattest turkey in the farmyard atm, with xmas approaching and the farmer sharpening his knives. I think I read somewhere he's now favourite for next manager sacked, and he's lost his mate as chairman too.
  16. Yes. I don't really give a toss about the finances, as long as the team keeps improving I'm happy. As things stand, we look to be moving in the right direction but as you say time will tell on what the longer term picture is.
  17. Good for you Kevin, good luck
  18. I can't say I'm pleased England are out because I'm English. At the same time that haven't earned the right to progress, and no neutral will mourn their exit because they've been negative on the field and unprofessional and boorish off it. The players and coaches should have a good look at themselves.
  19. Partez les cheeks, we arrr goin' to emp yew
  20. England getting their butts kicked by les bleus
  21. "God bless you ma'am, that was fantastic. Any chance of a sandwich?"
  22. I suspect it has more to do with not wanting to play for Nigel Worthington than not wanting to play for Norn Iron. iirc he turned out for the U21 side not so long ago. There's every chance Worthington will get the sack after the next match, which would sort the issue if that's what this is about
