  1. I was forced to watch by the missus. What a pile of cack....the only thing I enjoyed was Bishop Curry and watching Betty and Phil squirm with embarrassment
  2. I think it was in the Chronicle. I realise it might be bullshit but it seemed like one reason the wage bill might have spiked. And there must be agood reason... I cant believe that Ashley would generally sanction such a big spike in wages even if we hadnt been relegated
  3. Apparently if a player is permanently out of the first team squad, like Colback is now, his wages over the remainder of his contract have to be expensed straight away. If there were a few of those in the 2017 accounts, it might explain why the loss was so high. In effect it’s treating those wages as paid upfront.
  4. Presumably it depends on how they define fit & proper
  5. Presumably some of that loss will be offset by the deferred transfer income from the likes of Sissoko and Wijnaldum (25% in 2018 and another 25% in 2019). That’s assuming we made a profit in 2018.
  6. Honestly it’s so fucking frustrating. By any measure Benitez is a very good if not great manager. They’re as rare as rocking horse shit. He could transform this club at every level. We shouldn’t even have to worry about him leaving, he should be locked in for the next 5 years
  7. I wouldnt mind shit stirring if it pressures Ashley into doong the right thing. I doubt he cares though
  8. As long as England fans approach the tournament with zero expectation of success, they won’t be disappointed. Southgate ffs
  9. It’s difficult to read the tea leaves at this point. I would understand Rafa leaving if the heirarchy show zero ambition in the summer. It’s also entirely possible he may decide to see out his last year even if the club won’t back him properly in the transfer market. That would be put some pressure on Ashley, not that the chubby funster would give a toss.
  10. He’s made a fortune out of being paid to fuck off. He must have a village of casas by now.
  11. I remember reading that for all his sports science bollocks his teams were basically unfit. Don’t know if thats true but it wouldn’t surprise me.
  12. It’s almost as if these fans want to enjoy watching football. The cheek of them!
  13. He’s a truly dreadful manager and a horrible horrible bastard. Hes the sort of manager that ruins a football club: spunking money on old washed up players on massive contracts, playing turgid anti football and hoping to “nick one”, blaming everyone and everything for his own shortcomings, hiding behind stats and pseudo science and hoping no one notices hes as thick as pig shit. And thats before you get into his shady dealings and pocket lining antics, pompous self regard and annoying fucking drone. I hold him in the same low regard as Souness, Kinnear and The King. Managers who you know will be an utter disaster for your club before they’ve even turned up. I hope he doesn’t get sacked by Everton as he will ruin them; I’m sure he’d rather have a big pay off and put his feet up for the world cup, the greedy bastard.
  14. I expect Ashley is referring to the clubs net profit not its revenue. In Ashleys world, the cost of new signings is the transfer fee AND the cost of the accumulated wages over their contract. So even if 50 mill were available, it would probably only equate to a couple of bang average signings. I honestly think sales will be as important as the so called war chest. If Rafa can shift the duffers/out of favour players/loanees it will get some cash in and lower the wage bill...making new signings more palatable to the fat wanker.
  15. Unless we can shift some of the duffers, we won’t be signing anyone anyway
  16. I think Trigger was the last manager
  17. He’s punching above his weight in League One
  18. Eastleigh Good preparation for non league football
  19. I’m not sure Geoff would fancy playing for the mackems
  20. I would say that Allardyce merits a hefty discount to Everton’s market value
  21. Their complete farce of a season makes sense if you imagine everyone at the club - owner, manager, players, staff - as completely pissed all the time.
