Who?

The amount of negativity on here is really borderline mad. It wasn't three weeks ago some who have posted in this thread were crowing about the Zog being our best player, a likely transfer target for Arsenal/Man U/etc. and now he's downgraded to "average?" Have you not been watching the games? Aye he's a terrible left back, we all know it, but attacking he's surely our player of the season, sad as it is. As for Enrique I never rated him, always looked too casual without the physical presence needed in the EPL. Another Luque? It's possible, although if so I hope he doesn't hang out as long as he did and weigh down our wages bill. The gravy train is closed as the ejection of Babayaro shows, hopefully with Carr to follow soon.

The official Match thread: Newcastle United Vs ManUre

Game's long over, let him get a run out. Good effort from Faye, shows a little spirit that we need. As for their fourth, amazing strike by Rooney but he should never have been given the chance after a shocking clearance from (guess who?) Alan Smith. p.s. 5-1. -

Cue the media re-playing "I would love it" and clamoring on about how King Kev's got to go. It would've been headline news if we'd beat them, surely we have to look past this game. -
Holy shit. That is a psychotic tackle. Rush of blood isn't even in it. Get well soon Eduardo, can't stand you but this should never happen to anyone.
-
Worthless fat wanker. His next job will be Plymouth Argyle, or maybe Leeds are big enough for him.

King Kev The Great, New Compilation....

Mackem bastard. -
Us in "Meekly and inevitably surrendering a lead and going on to get pounced" shocker!
-
Bollocks. Who shoots then if you're not just trying to wind me up? Butt and the Zog. Maybe Milner. Certainly none of our strikers.
-
Nobody on this team will take a shot (except Butt.) It's woeful. Even when they have a clean sight at goal they take two or three touches almost like they want it taken off them.
-
And, Given coming off. No doubt hurt himself on the slip.
-
This is about as typical NUFC as it gets. Total lapses of concentration after halftime. They can only keep focused for 45 minutes apparently.
-
Handball triggered the chain of events to be fair to Carr.
-
Given slipped on the goalline? Or do I have it wrong and he just tried to dive late?
-
What you on about? It was a good tackle in the box, got rid of the threat and he got the ball. Nowhere did I say it was a bad tackle. Him hurting Young and him being shite and needing to go are two unrelated issues. What I am pointing out is that it seems the only time you see him is when he's hurting someone or (almost) hurting the team by handballing earlier this game. I'm not sure exactly what his role at the club is, he seems to be a combination shite right winger/thuggish central midfielder/hired muscle/Terry Mac's personal bodyguard against bookies' hired muscle. But he's not worth what we paid for him and he's high on the list of "deadwood we need shot of" imo
-
Young down, not surprisingly it is Barton's challenge responsible. He really must go, I'd have half of Emre starting over him.
-
GET IN YOU LITTLE SHIT! Owen 1-0!

If you mean Ahmed Fathi it's Fazi

I was in fact talking shite, as I said Egypt would only win narrowly and they turned them over instead. As I said, CDI were never tested in the tournament and were not ready for the challenge and they showed their complacency tonight. Great game and great result. Still, can just see Cameroon beating Egypt in the final.
-
I've got 30 English on a Cameroon/Cote D'Ivoire double get 200 quid if it comes off, I think it will as well. Cameroon should be leading, 5/2 amazing price for them. Cote d'Ivoire haven't really been tested this entire tournament, I don't think they have the quality everyone's attributing to them and I expect to see an Egypt win tonight. Cameroon v. Egypt final I think with Cameroon to win it. I was convinced Cameroon would upset the odds and they did, I'm even more convinced Ivory Coast will finish off Egypt tonight, they haven't even got out of second gear yet in this tournament and it's been like a procession for them. They have the best side in Africa by a distance for me, and without question in my mind they're one of the best 10 or 15 teams in the world. To say they haven't been tested is wrong as well, to be fair Nigeria (who are massive underachievers gave them a good game), as did Mali before succumbing to a 3-0 defeat. Guinea qualified at the expense of a decent Morocco side, yet Drogba's boys fucked them 5-0. So overall I think you're talking shite, I mean you've got Cameroon to beat Egypt in the final, Egypt pumped them 4-1 in the first game. Look at the African rankings, based on results over the last five years. 19 1 Nigeria 879 1 4 beaten 1-0 25 2 Cameroon 853 -1 0 33 3 Guinea 765 0 7 beaten 5-0 35 4 Egypt 733 4 47 38 5 Côte d'Ivoire 688 -1 0 39 6 Morocco 676 0 -10 40 7 Senegal 675 -2 -12 43 8 Ghana 660 0 1 46 9 Tunisia 624 1 -15 47 10 Mali 622 -1 -30 beaten 3-0 67 11 Zambia 474 -2 -24 70 12 Congo DR 454 4 17 72 13 Angola 443 1 0 74 14 Togo 426 -2 -22 75 15 Mozambique 419 0 0 76 16 Algeria 414 3 3 78 17 South Africa 411 -1 -3 83 18 Zimbabwe 389 4 4 84 19 Equatorial Guinea 387 1 0 89 20 Congo 377 2 0 90 21 Ethiopia 366 15 36 93 22 Libya 351 2 2 94 23 Sudan 349 -2 -25 94 24 Benin 349 3 1 beaten 4-1 97 25 Uganda 346 -21 -71 101 26 Tanzania 333 -12 -50 I've watched Egypt's last two games and they were fortunate not to lose in both. 2-1 for Ivory Coast. Loving the edit to make it 2-1 after Egypt scored Egypt to win. CDI have only beaten Egypt once in the last nine competitive meetings between the sides. They have more experience and will exploit CDI's weakness (such as their atrocious keeper) to take this game narrowly.

England v Switzerland Official Match Thread
acrossthepond replied to Besty's topic in Newcastle Forum
Bit of a soft question I know but for anyone who saw the game, how did Vonlanthen play? The guy is an FM legend for me and I've always wanted to see him. -
So it was you! Heard, even. Also, if it does happen it'll be branded as 'taking the game to the overseas fans' when in fact it'll be watched by the rich and corporates etc. with the less well-off being well and truly priced out of the market. I could actually see this happening, acrossthepond will be over the moon Oi! This is idiotic. This is a redux of the ridiculous Wembley NFL game and it's just as poor an idea. The Premier League doesn't need to go after fans abroad, it's already the most-watched league in the world. I also note with some cynicism the "top five won't play each other due to a seeding system" a.k.a. little clubs get hammered in front of sellout plastic crowds who don't know any players' names and can only sing "Go Man U!" and they get all the $$$. Terrible, terrible, terrible idea.

He's amazing. No telling how he'd do in the Premier League but if we got him on the cheap it might be quite a capture.

Toon Boss Will Fight To Keep Zog On The Tyne
acrossthepond replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
KK showing some sense here unlike Fat Sam and Roeder. Hopefully we can get LB sorted soon and have the Zog move up as KK's plans seem to involve him and he recognizes his best position is left winger.
