It's not worth getting worked up about how much we've paid and whether you think we've overpaid. The price is the price. We're buying PL established players, or lads from abroad with the promise of high potential and high ceilings. All of that comes at a cost. We haven't put a foot wrong so far with our buying. People thought we'd overpaid for that Swedish lad who wasn't exactly setting the world alight in Spain who no one else wanted to take the punt on, and we just doubled our money on him. We have to spend big and we're spending big. You're taking enjoyment away from yourself if you're worrying about whether we've spent TOO big.

Stupid prick.

Alright, I'll go.... HIGHER!

What's your prediction then?

Sorry but I don't agree. The manager was done with him, reports suggest his teammates were furious with him, and he told the delegation that went to see him that he wouldn't play again. We couldn't take a risk on your assessment of the odds.
-
I don't know if you've noticed but me making predictions causes 5 or 6 people on this forum to spontaneously ejaculate, so I'm not playing.

We sold a player that wasn't going to play for us again. Are you going to tell me you think "make him rot" was the answer?
-
And btw if you want to continue moping about what a disaster this has been, go ahead. I'm fucking bored of it. We've sold a very good player and yet still come out of the window with a stronger squad than we had at the start of it.
-
The idea that we've been fucked, lost face, or been in some way weak bitches. We've lost a very good player to a better team. Happens every transfer window to most clubs.

That shit he's having.

Yeah like you say, a lot of what he says is right. The fact it's almost a year to the day since Eales handed his notice in and we still don't have a new CEO is ridiculous. I hope the appointment of the DoF will follow quickly and he's just being held back for the sake of choreography. But the premise of his article, and Edwards' article was that we can't say we want to be number 1 and sell Isak to Liverpool, because that means we aren't their direct rival. But the reality, and these lads KNOW this, is that as of right now we aren't Liverpool's direct rival. So pointing at what Eales said "The players are on a long term contract, we'd be crazy to sell our best players." and pretending that it's some sort of betrayal is stupid - what did he want Eales to say? And did he really think that that meant that nobody could be sold? He's a football journalist ffs. Last summer Eales said the EXACT opposite, which was "all players have a price", and he got pelters for it, and the articles being written were critical. And I'm no fan of Eales btw, but you can't have it both ways. The reality of this summer is that the PSR-immune champions of England declared an interest in a player that knew he would never win one of the big trophies at Newcastle United, and would never get paid his market worth at Newcastle United, and that is really the beginning and end of the story. Everything else that happened subsequent to that were just the details of how he eventually left the club, but he was always leaving as soon as he said that he wanted to go. None of this means that we can't one day catch up with these clubs, or that there isn't the ambition to do so. It just means we aren't there now. Writing articles that are basically a tantrum because we aren't there now, is really unhelpful. I haven't seen his article about the expectations gap created by Staveley saying that we would be winning everything in 5 years, but that's because Caulkin is a romantic and as long as someone/something gives him the feels, he'll forgive them forever.

They're on top of the world at the minute. 2 wins and they're 4 points above us, and they think they've been right all along: the PL is shit, and they're a top 10 team. On the Sunderland boom/bust cycle, this is as high a boom as they've had in probably 20 years plus. The bust is gonna be absolutely fucking brilliant.
-
The club have been quite clever in letting him speak at length and paying tribute to Brentford and his time there. We'll never know what the real story was with him and Brentford, and I've seen some stuff online from their fans and they're pissed off, so daft to just believe the player's side. I'm just pleased he's here.
-
Nah.

Caulkin is still in a huff about Staveley going and the effect that's had on his access at the club. That article is just him having a dig at those that have brought that about.

One of the Brazilians, I reckon. The fact he's used the word "compatriot" is Hope trying to drop us a clue I reckon. If it had been an English lad, "colleague" would have made more sense just cos you don't really think of nationality there. Could just as easily have been Joelinton having to calm down Bruno though.

Newcastle United has employed the services of Rentokil to successfully rid the club of its rodent problem.

A statement befitting of the man on the club website. Get in there.

Nice that you've come back from your holiday refreshed though. How was it?

According to Romano aye.

Parish fucked us about last summer but fair play to the bloke here.

The money they've spent this summer and they're still trying to create this illusion of the plucky underdog defying the odds.
