Hope to see you on tv. Air crash investigations isn't it? No seriously I hope your plane crashes.

I think we have the same father
-
I hope that's true. Many do. Sporting Hee-hon. Aint that how it's pronounced by the lercals? That is correct, one of my mates does actually call me 'Hee-hon'
-
Anyone who gives any though no matter how tiny to anything Cwarr tweets is a fucking moron. Sorry but it's true.

I disagree, we look in better shape than we did last season imo. We have lost Nolan and Carroll but gained Ba, Marveaux and Cabaye, also will have Ben Arfa and Gosling who weren't exactly available last season. Don't see how we haven't improved but maybe I just have my 'head in the sand'.

My mates came across a team called Sporting Gijon whilst playing something like Fifa so they started calling me Gijon (my names Jon), we went on a lads holiday and had the shit t-shirts made up with the names on the back, mine had 'GeJon' on the back and as I didn't have any imagination back then (and tbf not much now) that's what I could think of when I signed up.

Hope you don't make 19.

I wasn't aware that the window had been closed already. Unless I'm much mistaken there are 2 months left to bring players in, but don't let that get in the way of your presumptions and cynicism. The future is unknown but I’d argue my cynicism isn’t without justification. Consider Neil Taylor.... were we after him because he’s the best left back we can afford to bring in or because we thought he had a £1m get out clause? There’s two months to sell players as well. Right now our transfer activity has been bargain based. The time to call realism cynicism is when the facts back up your presumption, which they don’t. Get back to me when we bring in player who isn’t a ‘bargain’, when we’ve used a decent chunk of the Carroll money to sign a quality player for serious money. I would like us to spend a significant amount if it's for the right player but as of the 29 June 2011 we have signed a 25 year old French international midfielder who has just come off a title winning season, a player who was on the verge of signing for Liverpool and a player with a career goalscoring record of just under 1 in 2 who came into the premiership and instantly settled. Does it have to be 'serious money' for it to be a good player? Is that what makes a good player? We have signed 3 very good players (ok two are unproven in this league but highly rated none the less) for around £5m. Would it have been better to have trumped Liverpool and just signed Henderson for 4 times that? I understand if you want quality players you normally have to spend and I hope we do because we need at least one top forward who will more than likely cost a fair sum of money but this 'we need to spend serious money to show ambition' culture is nearly as bad the 'sign a player for a future profit' one.

**Beep Beep Beep** Sorry but that's a load of bollocks about twitter on N-O, people are as much fed up of it over there as they are here and a thread (like the one suggested on here) was set up to try and keep the bullshit out of 'serious' threads. I also don't see what's wrong with discussing potential line ups and new signings from the little you have seen of them in close season, especially when the only football on is the Women's world cup which from the games I have watched has even managed to lose a lot of the fit ones. If you aren't going to discuss things that you admittedly don't have a great deal of knowledge on the forums you may aswell close for the off season This has been a public service announcement on behalf of Newcastle-Online.

Hate the way they do that as though the NE clubs have no right to buy decent players. They were absolutely convinced he was off to either Spurs or Liverpool and I'm guessing can't for the life of them understand why he'd go to Sunderland. In many respects it's comparable to when we signed Owen and the journos couldn't get their heads round why he'd choose us over Liverpool. Massive statement of intent from the Mackems and one you have to commend. Understandable why they're chuffed to bits - lets face it we would have been. I just don't like the touted inevitability around the reselling of these signings. On our side, you've got players like Cabaye and Ben Arfa talked about as massive profit makers. Now, the mackems make a good ambitious signing in Whickham and the same is said of them. That sort of mindset is never going to get the NE back as a top footballing region. Of course, I don't mind when Sunderland flog their best players To be fair i'm not sure whether it is even a media bias or anything like that. NUFC and SAFC wont be threatining the top 4/5 for a long time and if players from either of our clubs realise a potential that would see them capable of playing for one of the top 4/5 teams then its likely that they're going to be sold. I think the same can be said for all other teams outside the so called elite, including mainstays such as Everton. I'd possibly even put Spurs in that category as well, look at the Modric situation, Chelsea make a bid, Spurs turn it down, player allegedly wants to leave. Its just where we are in todays food chain I'm afraid. Oh, believe me, it's Mr Mike Ashley and his house of Bargains that has turned NUFC this way. If Quinn is an ambitious owner (and tbf, I reckon he is) you'll be beating off all suitors with a shitty stick if Whickham becomes a success. Players like him coming good will take you to the next level. Unfortunately for NUFC, we've either sold those players (Carroll) or will sell those players soon enough (Tiote, Ben Arfa, Enrique). This is going down a dark corridor with talk of ambition and money on this board so I'll leave it there. Whickham's a good signing after Larsson and Westwood being rather underwhelming IMO. Is this the same Sunderland that sold their top scorer then their youth 'super star' 6 months later? They like us and a lot of other clubs will sell players if they get bids they think are too good to turn down. I don't understand your post at all because it seems to ignore those mentioned solely on the basis that they have signed a kid from the championship for £8m
-
I'd say it's likely to be higher than that when you consider his transfer fee and the fact bigger clubs were sniffing around for him. With all due respect to SAFC, why would he accept £25K p/w when he could have held out for Liverpool or Spurs? Can you think of another reason why we wouldn't have shown an interest? I'm afraid I can't. We signed Marveaux who could have gone to Liverpool..

Using one of those as back up is just about acceptable but both, eugh!

These stories will keep coming out with this lad. He was moaning about it on twitter earlier. If he wasn't so talented he would be getting the Nile Ranger treatment by now.

Yeah i'm fairly sure I remember we signed them when I was on holiday (and we were linked with David Dunn for £10m), the forum went down and I couldn't find it so I emailed Cheyne (or thinking about it, it might have been Tanzo, sorry Tanzo) and they linked me to TT.

He must look like he's stepped straight off his yacht in the Hamptons! After doing the kids entertainment

He gets a lot of enjoyment out of it, you're just putting a negative spin on it
-
So much clunge about in vitrtually fuck all on holiday, one even accidentally flashed her minge by the pool. Holiday blues indeed

Done and won't do.

Jesus, Wordplay has some awful fashion sense

As soon as this dropped through the door I bet his face lit up "Right, to the forum, this will prove them wrong!". Like any news article about a 'Brown' person being convicted of a crime "Right, this proves 'they' are all criminals". Sad life really.

This one or the original? Signed up to this one because I was on the last one before the succesfull merger. Signed up to the last one because Cheyne sent me a link after the one I was using before my holiday was removed
-
Sorry I was away Want me to start a corresponding thread on N-O and if our under 25's percentage is under the 30 odd percent on here then there is some desperate backtracking to be had? I joined here around the time we signed Bramble and Viana I think, I was on another forum just before that but it got closed down. Think they had the link on .com but decided to remove it.

Take the foil off no seriously, hope you are feeling better soon.
