To be honest I think it actually makes good sense for the club to bring in someone to run the youth team, bring on young starlets and scout for young players with potential. It's a good way of ensuring that Newcastle as a club don't miss out on future players like we did with Shearer or Carrick initially for example. I don't think Director of Football is the right term for Wise's new position, I suspect it's just the press getting it round their necks and just trying to make a story out of their own assumptions and ability to shit-stir.

I don't think there's any difference between the two, I don't see how the Dyer/Bower thing was a full blown fight when no punches were landed and yet the two Arsenal players make contact and draw blood but that's 'handbags'.
