  1. To be honest I think it actually makes good sense for the club to bring in someone to run the youth team, bring on young starlets and scout for young players with potential. It's a good way of ensuring that Newcastle as a club don't miss out on future players like we did with Shearer or Carrick initially for example. I don't think Director of Football is the right term for Wise's new position, I suspect it's just the press getting it round their necks and just trying to make a story out of their own assumptions and ability to shit-stir.
  2. Ahhh, now that makes more sense. I thought it'd be a bit strange that Ashley and Mort would rock the boat so soon after going to the trouble and expense of bringing Keegan back to us - what a surprise that the press are trying to make a big thing of stirring already...
  3. That's how Chelsea was when they started winning things, just the world's jealousy tbh
  4. My boss is a Leeds fan and he reckons that Leeds haven't been doing too well since Poyet left for Spurs. This talk about Wise guiding them to a play-off place with a 15 point deduction wasn't down to Wise so the Leeds fans think.
  5. Turns out Spurs might turn Woodgate down for Gilberto instead after Woodgate snubbed their bid for him until he'd spoken to us... now that would be funny
  6. As long as we as fans get behind Kev every week no matter what the shit stirring wankers write then fuck the lot of em. Toon insider my arse, there should be laws about writing speculative, non-exisitant crap.
  7. I don't think there's any difference between the two, I don't see how the Dyer/Bower thing was a full blown fight when no punches were landed and yet the two Arsenal players make contact and draw blood but that's 'handbags'. If the ref had given the two of them reds I'm sure they'd have taken it further walking off the pitch, ridiculous double standards by the London scum, the FA and the police as per usual. Not fully sure why Newcastle fans are always playing this "victim" card. Why there is this general mentality that everyone is out to get you because you are Newcatle. I've seen it time and again, and it's really a bit ridiculous. You saw "I don't see how the Dyer/Bower thing was a full blown fight when no punches were landed". So if a man shoots somebody with a gun and misses, that's not an attempt to kill him? No action should be taken, just because the bullet missed? Because that is essentially the arguement you are making here, and it seems like you'll go to all lengths to make yourself and your club feel like victims and treated unfairly. That's not the point I was making at all actually, more that if the Bowyer/Dyer incident was seen as a dust up and worthy of all the crap that went with it then so should the incident that happened between the Arsenal pair. Both sets of players set about each other but only the Arsenal pair drew blood, the main difference between the two is that it happened off camera but then for the Police to get involved it took a complaint from a member of the public, not the video itself. The FA have the ability to review the situation yet do nothng about it as per usual, wouldn't want to penalize one of the 'top four', heaven forbid...

  13. My head and heart say 'remember fulham, man city and england!?' Id rather have Hughes than a manager that was shit 5 years ago and is now so out of touch with football hel be even shitter now! Yes he may not have done a great job with England, but what exactly was wrong with his time at Fulham? He also left Man City with a similar record to Hughes current (43.75% and 43.48%) Exactly, England was his only real Failure imo. I'm pretty sure he did a good job helping Fulham on their way up the leagues before the FA came calling for him to manage England. I'd love to see him back here at a club he really wants to do well for.
  14. Women + Football = Computer says No
  15. Bugger, beat me to it! It's ridiculous, my head says no but my heart says yes, I actually feel excited by the prospect of Kev returning to us - totally irrational but I can't help it. Nostalgia-tastic!!!
  16. Don't want Hughes, want Shearer
  17. From SSN: Don't do it Ash!
  18. I think I'm firmly in the Shearer/Keegan camp for who we get now - I'm past any logical reasoning that I had initially, gimme that buzz!

Quality Jonny2J, brings back great days... if only we could have a rich tycoon and ex player capable of bringing those days back!
  20. I suspect the most likely thing was that Redknapp was/is one of several people the board was/is looking at and wanted to sound them out IF they offered them the job would they be interested so it's not so much a case of Redknapp being first choice and anyone else is second choice, he was just one of several.
  21. I'd be happy with Shearer as manager, it's a win win situation like Peasepud said tbh
  22. Some of the best managers in the world are/have been self serving cunts
