Apropos of nothing, when I worked down Ipswich, I stayed at the Belstead Brook (very posh) hotel for a while, I wasn't paying btw, when checking in lass on reception said "Oh you're from near Newcastle, my dad is Paul Goddard, do you rember him?" I said I did, and would she tell him he's fondly remembered and thank him, she said "I will, he'll be made up, he still talks about his time at Newcastle, he loved it". Same hotel, I had the chance to push the smoggies Ravanelli and all, who were staying there, down the stairs like dominoes but bottled it.
