You can be certain Eddie/the club know who they are and we’re only not moving on it because a) CB is a higher priority, and b) that player isn’t available.

Who’s said it’s our whole budget ? We equally could have more to spend but we aren’t because the right player, for us, isn’t available. Eddie basically laid it out in that press conference you took Hope’s twisted words for, he said it’s about bringing in players who improve the squad with their whole game, with and without the ball and how they’ll fit into the group. It’s multi-faceted, it’s not just “ooh he’s great at going forward” it’s the players whole game/character they’re looking at and I’m personally fine with that.

Look man, no-one is disputing an upgraded RW would be good, but from a priority perspective CB is streets ahead, not only for now but for the very near future (because our current 2 best ones are all but codgers)

Read that back again and tell me how that is anywhere near great at the heart of our defence, and you go on continuously about RW where we have a choice of Murphy/Miggy/Gordon/Barnes. From where I'm sat the latter is a much healthier position. Could be better, sure, but it's not desperate and in comparison to CB it's great.

Their out of possession work might just do that, you know, the bit no-one (apart from Eddie) ever mentions. When we do (and we will) upgrade RW it's be someone who's more dynamic going forward than those 2 and as workaholic going backwards. Who that is, I have no idea, but I bet the club have an eye on him.

Palace don't want to sell, they won't have named a price, they'll have rejected bids, it's up to us to make them an offer they can't refuse. The journo's are the only one's stating numbers.

No-one wins a negotiation, if it concludes with agreement and both sides are happy i.e. it's a draw.

He talked about short termism (not doing something now that you'll regret later) and player acquisitions not fucking up future ability to improve/trade.

He never said that at all. He was asked could we get a CB and a RW, he said "probably not, no" that's not a definitive" absolutely not", it's certainly not a "we haven't got the money" either, it's more of an "unlikely. but not impossible". Could be any number of factors, including the players we'd want not being available.

He’s their player until he’s not. I’d get the cup tied angst if it was a CL qualifier which would rule him out of the whole competition (if we were in it), but the Carabao cup, nah !

Steady on Craig, we were obviously only looking to sign him for this years assault on the Carabao cup and we are not interested in him because he can potentially be our starting CB for the next 5-7 years.
