We weren't talking about the total commercial income (performance of which is poor, no argument there), I was talking about the in ground signage in particular, no way that would be £10Mill all by itself, it'd be lucky to be anywhere near £2-3Mill IMO, interest would likely be circa £8 mill at round about 6-ish %
-
It'd be nowhere near that, Citeh with their exorbitant and "friendly" deal with Etihad "only" get £35Mill a year for Shirt/Ground naming and Training complex sponsorship. We wouldn't get the equivalent of near 30% of Citeh's deal, for signs around our ground. Really we wouldn't.

I dunno if this is classified as a defence or not, But I accepted (a long time ago) that Ashley aint going to put his own money into the club and the only way forwards for the club was to grow organically and that would also mean slowly. I actually still think that is a good thing because were bigger than most. That said, the appointment of Kinnear was incomprehensible to me and the apparent lack of any leadership at the club is similarly head scratching. The latest accounts are good evidence of growth, so thats a positive and we should be absolutely minted by now and especially by the end of the season when the TV/prize money gets dished out. Should have had something sorted to replace Cabaye in January and as weve spent bugger all squared (in real terms) wed better make good moves in the summer because we absolutely can afford it, even when staying within the self-sufficiency model. The lack of money for the SD signage as a quid pro quo for no interest on the loans I have no problem with, as I think that actually is likely better for the club in real money terms (i.e. interest on the £129 Mill > income from any signage). I dont particularly understand it logic wise, given SD will have a marketing budget and that could pay the club, whereas not taking interest hits Ashleys personal pocket versus a commercial payment from his other corporate entity which is not his personal pocket. Although I believe theres something in FPP about income from organisations closely associated with the ownership. (and yeah I know about Citeh and Etihad but think Etihad doesnt technically have a close ownership link with Mansoor could be wrong, and I suspect its a separation of convenience anyway). The club continues to grow, which is good.

I sure he'd be proud if he saw you calling him that

And you wonder why the Government aren't meaningfully, and in detail, trying to push the "no" vote

Just goes to show it turning into a witch hunt IMO, glad he was found innocent.

Of course not, Somerset's been an inland sea for a month and even that's had feck all political intervention.

True dat Although saw Dame Edna at the Theatre Royal the other week (dragged along at the behest of the Mrs) and she was fucking immense, don't think I've ever laughed continually for such a long period, but even Dame Edna's a bloke.

Some Journo'll get him pissed and it'll all come out (well whatever pissed up Joe thinks went on anyway).

Season Ticket Renewal/Apathy - £25 Half Season tickets

Agreed, but it won't come to court anyway, it's not like recovery of an unpaid bill, it's a breach of contract, that's a whole different ballgame in legal process etc. -

Oldest trick in the book, sadly postmarks over-ride letter dates in legal matters (or used to when I was in the persecute folks for their debts game). -

Not going to happen, any court wouldn't find against someone over non-payment of something they haven't even had yet because they don't want it anymore, especially as you are giving notice that you don't want it WAAAAY in advance. It'd end up costing the club so much more than the season ticket cash to pursue you for it, not to mention the bad PR (which would be way in excess of bad PR because of the on-going stupidity exhibited by the club). e.g. bog standard Solicitor is around £200 an hour. Three hours graft and it's cost them more than they'd recover. Stop the DD, I would guess it'll go something like this - when they get an unpaid, they'll send you a letter saying pay up or your ticket will be canned, ignore letter, maybe another letter saying tickets been canned. Doubt you'll get a further one beyond that saying and we're taking you to court. -
Be amazed if it wasn't, soon as I read "“The players didn’t really have much to do with Joe - they never seen him around the training ground" that's who I pegged with it (i.e. the use of seen not saw) a Geordie thing.

Used to love the cheapo burgers (with onions) and tomato sauce meself, fuck knows what was in them.
-
You've just described what I meant by "the craic around that".
-
Just cancel your direct debits man ! Problem solved.
-
Absolutely. BUT matchgoers (well the one's I know) have either seen worse (my codger-ish mates) or the whole thing is quite simply about watching a game of football at a weekend and the craic around that, nothing more, nothing less.
-
So why are you important?? over and above or even equal to the folks that go. You were important to the club/team when you went, you don't go therefore you have no relevance now, same as one of LM's mates from N-O from Singapore or me for that matter.
-
Aye that last one (I hope we do shit) is unreal, I mean come on a thread about "are the matchgoers" to blame FFS, it's unbelieveable. Only the matchgowers are actually important in all of this !!!!
-
There's loads on N-O that don't have ST's and won't be getting one though (and half a dozen ST martyrs). My lads are keeping the 3 they have between them (which for the first time ever they actually now pay for themselves!!!), it was never in question.

According to someone who works in the box office (posted elsewhere) the actual number is less than 100 and in line with usual drop-off, nowt extraordinary happening.
-
We'll have less of this common sense type posting thank you very much Surprised any player expecting to go to the World Cup will happily move this January (unless it's like Cabaye and a move to the sort of loaded club he'd hope to attract after the WC, so no need to wait).

I know who my parents are, I lost my dad last Sunday (he was anything but a bastard btw). Some random goes and posts pictures of Jackie Milburn and I am supposed to get emotional over someone I never knew or even saw play, and to post what exactly to make you happy ????
