  1. Whatever happened to beginners luck?
  2. That's something I noticed moving down south, a chip at Stanley was worth 25p. At my local casino now it's £1. Having said that I used to go to Stanley's on a Monday for the free breakfast (Good times *sighs*), so it could well be to do with the day of the week!! You are a lot more careful when each chip is worth a quid, whereas I used to create the NYC skyline when they're only 25p. Gambling on a monday morning? Was it really good times? To be more accurate they served a fry up from about midnight til about 3am on a Tuesday morning. I used to work until about 11pm, then Monday night at Legends or Julies then off to the Casino. Good times *sigh*

  4. Like The Hangover. No film has given me greater joy for ages!! Has a comedy ever won an Academy Award? Has a film with masterbating babies ever even been nominated?
  5. Cool. What makes it better than the other casino's if you dont mind me asking? Also is there a minimum bet that you can place on each game? I've never been to a casino before so have no idea about these kinds of things. Never been to Aspers but I used to go to Stanley's and Grosvenor alot, suggest of those two that Grosvenor is more 'wife' friendly. I wouldn't worry about the minimum bets etc, just don't be afraid to ask. The important but is knowing how to play the games otherwise it can get expensive.
  6. Interesting to see if that sets a precedent for the Cardiff and Southend cases..
  7. I think away from home that we will lose games if we play four attack minded midfielders, especially given the makeshift back four.
  8. The wife bought me Championship Manager on the PC for xmas. Despite the reasonably positive reviews there are still some awful glitches. Not least the fact it takes 20 minutes for the game to load. What is more every matchday the game pauses at 8am for around 4 minutes. With game time taking anything between 5 minutes and 15 minutes. It's all very frustrating. I won the Championship in the first season and then with ridiculous ease won the Premier League in the second season, which makes the whole thing a bit of a mockery really. No players got injured for any significant length of time, I had about 5 bookings all season, however most of the time if a player got a booking he invariably got a second yellow, so I started to immediately substitute anybody that got booked. Team: --------------------Manual Rieman-------------- S.Taylor-----Marek Suchy----Seb Bassong---Jose Enrique ------------------Joao Moutinho---------------- ------Alan Djagoev---------Simon Vuckevic------------ -------------------Joe Ledley------------------------ ----------Oba Martins--------Scott Sinclair--------------
  9. He'll not get the games if Carroll keeps scoring. Though Her Majesty's Crown Prosecution Service may limit his involvement.
  10. Precious - A beautifully shot, well acted, shocking portrayal of the Black American underclass. Great soundtrack and some interesting cinematography. I thought it was very, very good indeed. 9/10
  11. Exactly right. He'll still be a leader it'll just be Rio's job to face the media more regularly and shake hands with dignatories etc
  12. Which is Rio according to the Beeb. Terry will be captain in all but name, he just wont have to face every England press conference, where the Bridgeys wife questions will certainly be on the agenda..
  13. But he needs replacing when we're promoted yes? Maybe. He might surprise us and will get a shot anyway. He didnt do very well last time but the whole club was in disarray, Shearer hardly managed any better but we wanted him to take over. Are you on medication? Occasionally. Are you saying he hasn't done a good though? It's difficult to gauge isn't it? It's a shit league and we've manged to keep together by hell or highwater the best defence in the league. In the CCC the likes of Taylor, Collo and Ricky are world class, sides have very few chances against us (even though we are often being outplayed) and most oftne than not they haven't proved good enough to take them. The way we are playing this wierd containing game with ocassional hoofs up the middle or Guti running down the left will get murdered in the PL, you just can't get away with it over a season. In short what I'm saying is that our positon in the table is misleading, the key indicator is how badly we're playing (in a shit league). There is no hope whatsoever that CH will survive past christmas in the PL. Better to bite the bullet in the summer and try and get a better manager or a real one at least. The longer we leave this problem the harder it will be to get out of it. Whilst the tactics we are employing don't make good viewing it is effective, it is winning us games, we are not conceeding and Leicester aside it's a long time since we failed to score a goal. I agree that we'll struggle if we play the same way in the PL, but that's next season. The question is, does CH have the tactical nouse to realise that and change to a more effective style for the Prem? I think if you polled 100 toon regulars at the start of the season and offered them promotion with ugly football, every one of them would have said yes. Suddenly that's not good enough.
  14. Google map This place was pretty cool as I recall.
  15. Try the Navigli district around Porta Genova station. Loads of bars and when we went last summer it was rammed with young Italians. It's technically walkable from the centre of town, but it'll take you an eternity and the taxis are relatively inexpensive.
  16. Hang on, the majority on here were saying we'd finish mid-table at best. Acca-spacca was derided for suggesting we'd win the league. So we can't be 'par for the course', we are vastly overachieving against most people's expectations. Having said that, I agree that the football is not good to watch and without serious strengthening will see us relegated from the PL before March.
  17. Stop reading the sun. Is the right answer.
  18. They will give you entry for 90 days at immigration control at the airport, obviously you can't work etc. But will they give me that on my old skool passport ? I was reading on the US Embassy website that if you have the new fancy biometric passports you qualify for the Visa waiver program. If I don't need to be shelling out for a new passport I'd rather not. It seems you will only need a new one if your old one isn't 'machine readable'. Read this; http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/niv/mrp_bio.html Cool !!! Although mine isn't the bio-metric electronic type, it seems mine is machine readable, I'll confirm in the post office or a travel agent just to be sure, but thank fuck for that ! saved me £130 and a day fucking around travelling to and from Peterbrough, I owe you a beer Greg. Fairly convinced you have to fill in an online form to get in to the US now. You can no longer wait for a Visa form at the other end. This be it.... https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html?_fl...C6-5B255ED761BC
  19. I reckon this'll be it.... ----------------Harper-------------------- --Simpson--Williamson--Colo--Aanholt-- --Routledge--Nolan----Smith---Guti---- ------------Best----Carroll-------
  20. I used to enjoy food shopping, but it's been ruined by fucking online. The 'pickers' block the aisles with their ridiculously oversized, slow moving carts.
  21. Because he's shit? Not sure you can say that, he's doing a very effective job of getting us promoted. There's nothing to suggest that he's not got the intelligence to see that we'll need to adapt in the PL. Yes the football is dreadful, but it's effective and we sit top of the league, we seem to be dealing with injuries a lot better, he talks eloquently and unembarrassingly. He's given young players a chance to keep them interested. He managed to get rid of Geremi, something KK and JFK couldn't do. Whilst it's difficult to know how much is down to him and how much is down to the drop in divisions the improvement in Colo, Nolan, Smith, Enrique and Gutierez is marked. On paper he's the best manager we've had for ages!!
  22. My own thoughts are that it would be more damaging for squad moral to have him as captain than not. The likelihood is that Bridge, Barry, Wright Phillips and Lescott are all likely to be on the plane and siding with Bridge in thinking the captain is scum. There will be a number who don't play for City, who are closer to Bridge and who will resent what Terry has been up to. I reckon Gerrard could step in and do a very good job. At a push Ferdinand, Barry, Lampard and Rooney would be the only regulars with and captaincy pedigree.
  23. But where do you stop? OK take the captaincy away from him but he'll still be on the pitch - still trying playing with the same bunch of players or do you suggest we drop him altogether? Like him or loathe him, JT is one of the best central defenders this country has to offer and going to the World Cup without him would be to our footballing detriment. He has to play, but can no longer be captain. The press have got a hard-on for him now, so don't be surprised if there is more to come out.
