  1. From @GeorgeCaulkin on Twitter: You know Jose Enrique dedicated his 1st #Nufc goal to his wife the other night? Aah. Well apparently he isn't married! What's that all about??
  2. When you consider that 7 more wins would see us on 104 points it shows you how impressive Reading getting 106 points was.
  3. A little premature, but that don't often get such publicity stunts wrong. I just checked Skybet, 1/250 on us being promoted and 1/14 on us being champions.
  4. http://timesonline.typepad.com/thegame/201...for-future.html Caulkin doing what he does very well.
  5. 9/10 are reverting to google. Including me!
  6. Tbf, wor lass could have marked Jonas last night. He was utter gash. Yeah, he tends to regress as soon as he comes up against someone who can match his pace. Having said that i think he used the ball better last night and brought other people in to play when it became apparent he wasn't gonna beat Perch. One of his free kick winning dives was just embarrassing. IIRC it was early in the second half, 10 yards in to Forest territory.
  7. Replacing Hughton would be a disgrace, a few have said that his tactics and substitutions have left a lot to be desired and I think earlier in the season there were one or two odd substitutions, but of late he's made good changes that have made a difference. At times he's made very guttsy calls that look odd at the time. I think we were playing Cardiff and we were one nil up and under the cosh and instead of going increasingly defensive he brought on Lovenkrands and switched from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 and it really relieved the pressure and made a difference. If Mourinho had done it he'd be called a maverick. Hughton's got us playing football again. There's very little doubt in my mind that the team we have at the moment would beat the team that played at Villa on the last day of the season and on paper you wouldn't have thought that would be the case.
  8. I said in the match thread that James Perch looks like a player. He was very heavily linked in January and I would like to see that progressed in the summer.
  9. What a lovely feeling it is to be winning football matches. Woke up with a smile on my face. On adifferent note, I thought that James Perch was excellent, handled Jonas very well, can play right or left, young, cheap. Ticks a lot of boxes.
  10. Got a DAB radio in my Mini and love it. Makes listening to Five Live bearable. The difference between DAB and FM is negligable though.
  11. So have I...and for me thats the best we've played all season. And we all slate fuck out of Shola when he's shit so tonight when he's scored one (belter) and set another one up with a cute backheel its only right he should be singled out for praise....well done old son...with us in bad times and good Carroll looked panicky in front of goal for the first time in ages. Shola's experience did us no harm whatsoever!! Well done Big Shole's..
  12. What a good finish. Alan Smith is spot on, he's definitely the best player in the league.
  13. East European immigrants blatantly Failing that maybe you're being affected by a high electro-magnetic field perhaps, what's the wiring like? Not a clue. Newish at a guess.
  14. I saw a figure at the top of the stairs, but it was just out of the corner of my eye. Oddly I didn't even take a second look, i just dimissed it as nothing. The missus saw a figure in light clothes clear as day, walking past the bedroom door. Don't know anything about the history of the house, not sure how I can find out.. Piss taking aside, are you uncomfortable with the "going on"?So long as it isn't freaking you or the missus out, I'd just carry on as per. For the record, i know several rational , credible people who have had similar experiences. They were confirmed skeptics until they witnessed their own experiences. I have no idea what "ghosts" are, but they very definately are. If you are freaked by it, the suggestions previously posted should be of some use Not particularly freaked by it. What was really odd was that I saw something at the top of the stairs and it didn't freak me out and it didn't even cause me enough concern to look twice. That's just not logical.

  16. I've not long bought a new house. It's a 1930s semi, so suffice to say there is room for the house having some history. Anyway in the last month: - Both my wife and I have seen what can only be described as apparitions (neither of us have seen anything like that before or are in anyway fanciful), both fleetingly and out of the corner of our eyes - The cat has started randomly running around the house for no reason - The door to our bedroom opens in the middle of the night. - It opened once and a breeze strong enough for me to feel it woke me up (it's March so there were no windows open). All in all, it's a bit weird. If anybody else had posted this I would be distinctly sceptical but there is definitely something going on. Anyone else witnessed such ghostly goings on.
  17. I certainly have reservations about his ability to win games in the Premier League but for me if you are going to replace him then it would have to a first-rate manager otherwise the disruption just isn't worth it. Having said that how many clubs would replace a manager who's team: - Has lost 4 games all season - Has the best team spirit seen at the club in over a decade - Just set a club record for number of clean sheets - Could well go the whole season unbeaten at home Make no mistake it'll make us a mockery again.
  18. If you consider that WBA only finished two points behind us last season and then take in to account the first team regulars that have left both teams I would say we've done well to stay ahead of them tbh. Toon David Edgar Michael Owen Obafemi Martins Sebastien Bassong Habib Beye Damien Duff Geremi Mark Viduka West Brom Paul Robinson Jonathan Greening Borja Valero
  19. Was a young Beresford very good? He was 25/26 when he joined us.
  20. I fancy Reading to take points off West Brom.
  21. Cheated a bit but I'd probably plump for: Steve Harper Steve Watson - Steve Howey - Fabricio Coloccini - John Beresford Wayne Routledge - Robert Lee - Lee Clark - Scott Sellers Andy Cole - Andy Carroll 7 from '92 and 4 from '10
  22. Each to their own definitely. But Hughton hasn't a clue in my opinion. I don't believe for a second he's capable of keeping us up. I'd been thinking of starting a thread praising Hughton but couldn't really be arsed. But your comment has inspired me. I think he has done an outstanding job and to consider giving it to that big nosed smoggy is unreal. The improvement in the form of the following has been marked - Colo, Enrique, Carroll, Nolan, Gutierrez. constantly up against worse players I agree to an extent but there's been a definite improvement, especially in Carroll who was actually playing (and not scoring) in the CCC last season. Gutierrez especially has in the last season learned how to cross and is striking the ball a lot better. much as I like jonas, hes getting a lot more time on the ball, he wont at PL level There were dozens of occasions last season when Jonas had all the time in the world to deliver a final ball and invariably hit the first man. Don't get me wrong it still happens but not to the same extent. Every time I see Carroll he gets better, he's grown in confidence is bossing centre halves and now imo looks more than capable of playing at Premier League level. no measure tbh, we've all said several times how shocked we are at the standard at CCC level and will he still look that player after being in jail for 6 months? Not sure how his jail term reflects on Hughton We are showing a character and fitness levels that mean we are getting a lot of late goals and rescuing a lot of games. another case of PL >>>> CCC Nah, anybody that watched the Villa game can not say that our team spirit was anything other than wholly unacceptable. He's got rid of the right players and made some shrewd purchases and our injury record has arguably improved. got rid of the right players? last I looked we're still loaded with Butt, Barton and severaly others not fit either for the PL or to wear the shirt I said he'd done an outstanding job, he's not a miracle man, nobody is going to touch Butt and Barton given their wages and trackrecord. But Geremi, Cacapa, Viduka, Duff, Owen, Martins and Beye have all gone. The pressure is on CH to see how he can mould the squad for the PL. We have just set a club record for the number of clean sheets in a season. in the second tier, with a better team of individuals than anyone else It still needs the right attitude to make it happen. We could well go a full season without losing at home. We are 10 points clear of forest with a game in hand and about to get promoted, which is exactly the aim at the start of the season. Look at Boro, we've arguably sold more regular first teamers from last season than they have and look where they're languishing. Do you think all of this happened by luck? It's incomprehendable to think that replacing him with Mowbray (a man who proved tactically naive enough to think that playing good football with average players would keep his team in the prem) is going to help us. I personally think Hughton has done more than enough to keep his job, but if Fat Mike wanted to replace him I would hope it was for somebody with premier league pedigree or a much better CV than Tony fucking Mowbray. Robbie Keane is a different conversation entirely and regardless of whether hughton, keegan, mowbray or the lord jesus christ were in charge his wages would still be far too high for fat mike. *Soap box tucked away*
  23. I can't agree that relegation was in the clubs best interests, but in retrospect, if the comments about the 6-1 defeat are true, then the aftermath of that most certainly has been. Agree, but you wouldn't have had one without the other. If we had stayed up there would still be a number who earned too much money, spent too much time injured and weren't as good as they thought they were.
