Did I imagine it or was Souness sporting the fullest of full Magnum PI tashes last night?

Realistically He is never going to get anywhere within a million miles of the England team so if he wants to play at the World Cup fair play if he wants to play for Nigeria as he spent six years of his life there. A lot of countries get by with players who can just play for their country. Bassong with Cameroon for example or the French invasion of Senegal. I'm not sure he'll get in to the Nigeria side..

What a fucking pathetic defence. "I can't admit to this murder as I will be prosecuted for it". This reminded me of the SOS court case for bond holders - moving fans was a pisstake but the small print said it was okay - similarly the T&Cs of bank accounts are agreed to by customers (as they have no choice). I hope the OFT continue the case though. Could a person function today without a bank account? Are employers beholden to pay me in cash if I requested? I can't imagine. The idea that I choose to have a current account and willingly accept the charges is ridiculous given there is no alternative. This guy does: http://www.details.com/culture-trends/care...on-zero-dollars There is a guy in Bristol who spent an entire year without working. He lived in a caravan he got off Freecycle, cycles everwhere, cooks using stuff he's grown, bindipped on a fire. Bartered for money for beer.. Found the article, it probably won't surprise which paper it was in... http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009...ark-boyle-money

Not sure that's the case. It could be seen by the banks as a green light to charge for anything they like. Pay for cash machines, pay for using debit card. And while we are at it let's hike the charges up.... Somebody in very senior Government must have been leaning very heavily to get the courts to agree to what amounts to daylight robbery.

January is a concern, there is likely to be interest in the entire back four last night. As it stands Simpson returns to OT in January and Enrique, Colo and Taylor are far too good for this league..

Never going to see that Spidey mask...

Stolen from the Guardian comments: I still fail to see the existence of these multi-billion dollar enviro-corps that are intent on taking our money for no good reason? Yes there are some (underfunded, understaffed) not-for profit insititutions working in the field. Some struggling start-ups and even a couple of medium sized companies that are doing some good work in renewables and (gasp!) maybe beginning to show some profit. But these groups pale into comparison with the petro-chemical economies that are run by BP, Exxon, Shell, and that thrive by spreading dis-information and backhanders through governments and countries worldwide at the expense of the populace and the planet. Spot on.

I agree, it's mental the amount we stick in the ground. I remember watching a programme about the incinerator in Vienna...

What type of argument is that? Heating and cooling of the planet is a natural cycle, something imo we have very little effect on. No climate scientist is denying that natural cooling and heating happens. It is the rate that current trends are happening that is concerning. “Climate change is here, in our country; it is an issue for our generation as well as future generations; and those who deny it are the flat earthers of the 21st century.” David Miliband..

http://www.autocar.co.uk/CarReviews/RoadTestHome.aspx I've got a Mini personally which I absolutely love, despite it being highly impractical unless your back seat passengers are circus dwarves or toddlers.

I dont think anyone disputes that. The argument is that climate change is a normal cycle of earth, more driven by natural occurrences than mankind and certainly not the end of the world. FMP

What do you think these new sources will be? not a new source i guess but the green party is advocating Nuclear as a short term solution Nuclear, wind, tidal, wave, solar, anaerobic digestion, fuel from waste, hydrogen, household microgeneration. I think there is a shit storm around the corner, if we all rushed out tomorrow to buy an electric car there wouldn't be enough generation capacity to meet the demand. If we all bought a hydrogen car tomorrow there wouldn't be enough generation capacity to make the hydrogen.

Article is drivel. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that climate change is happening. Whilst I trust most scientists, I have a natural mistrust of American scientists because of the power of the oil lobby. Shamefully it looks like America is still not going to agree to binding targets, which will inevitably mean India and China won't either (why should they).. Whilst i think the climate change argument is overwhelingly convincing, the need to replace fossil fuels with new sources of power is just as powerful an argument.

I stumbled across a jazz trio in Madrid called the Luis Colomo trio. It was very light hearted, almost comedic, but nevertheless very entertaining.

According to the .cock website the tickets for the away end are now on general sale. I would get on there straight away and make sure you are sitting (or more likely standing) in the away end. If you can't get a ticket in the away end then do not wear colours in the home end. You should be fine wearing colours around the ground but it's probably sensible to wear a jacket, not least cos it's November, you are from Carmel and it's bloody freezing - yes I am aware of how mumsy that sounds!!

NUFC not for sale + Hughton awarded 18 month deal

This just adds further weight to my belief that Moat is just an Ashley rent-a-gob. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_5696881,00.html Barry Moat admits he too would consider selling the naming rights of St James' Park were he ever to complete a takeover at Newcastle United. Current owner Mike Ashley has taken the Championship club off the market after he could not find anyone willing to meet his £80million valuation, with local businessman Moat known to be interested. Ashley's controversial tenure has come in for even more criticism over the past few weeks after he took the decision to rename the club's home ground sportsdirect.com@St James' Park, with Sports Direct being the sportswear firm he owns. Although it was another hugely unpopular move by Ashley in the eyes of supporters, Moat insists it is something which most clubs have to consider. He told Sky Sports News: "I think you have to explore things like naming rights, you have to do that. "Unfortunately we live in a world where football is big business, and the gap between the Championship and the Premier League is getting bigger all the time. "So you have to do things to close that gap. We need to get back up to the Premier League as quickly as possible. "I think if you have to do some of those things, by taking the commercial benefit of a sponsor, then as far as I'm concerned if that gets the right players on the pitch, gives you the right entertainment on a Saturday, then where do I sign?" -
Anybody that knows anything about Morissey would know better than to do anything to provoke him. Promoters must breathe a sigh of relief every time the miserable fucker gets through a gig.

This is what concerns me. Where does the money come from to keep the club going, to compete in the prem, to buy players? Doesn't it come from the ongoing monthly pensions contributions? I'm still not clear on how the club pays out your pension like. Does that take precedence over Ameobi's wages? And how much is it going to cost to compete at a decent level? This is an era where middling premership strikers cost double digit millions and someone is willing to pay almost £20million for a fullback. This is where im psychologically screwed with football at the minute. I guess until Keegan walked I really thought we could return to challenging for the top five or six. Now it just seems as likely as Cheryl Cole flagging me down in the Big Market and asking me to find somewhere quiet to park cos she's gagging for a quickie. Ashleys never going to take us their, the sale fiasco rules out a shining knight and as well as good intentions of NUST I cant see them financing that either. So for the first time in a long long while I have very little hope with regard to football. Even at Sunderland where a money mans arrived, a great chairman and a decent manager (worlds apart from us) what are they realistically going to achieve? A sneak into Europe at best. It just seems a very depressing time at the minute for the 40 plus brigade. I think that it's a question of good housekeeping isn't it. The one thing that the MA regime has got right was trying to follow the Arsenal model. Not living outside the clubs means. Appointing the right people. Not firing managers willy nilly at massive cost to the club. No Michael Owen wages. Looking to maximise revenues, concerts/boxing at SJP, looking to international market. The right manager, playing the right football, with players that care will lead to bigger gates, more beer, more shirts.

Yep, me too.

Bearded Sting and his sea shanty on Jules Holland was truly awful. In the most unusual segway I've seen in a while, The Foo Fighters came on next with Times Like These, they were amazing..

I saw them, they were pony!!

I don't, unfortunately this story is leading the news agenda of the broadcast media as well.

Any monies raised will be lodged in a local Solicitor's high interest account and will be returned if the bid is unsuccessful (less a 5% administration fee). Bloody solicitors..

All sides of british journalism are sickening imo. everyone has their own agenda. you cant blame one or t'other without showing your own bias. He just did though. The Sun could be using a grieveing women to be getting at Cameron, Clegg or Nick Griffin and I would still think it was scummy behaviour.

Recommend the Jamie Oliver receipe below very highly (especially with roast tatties). Adjust the ingredients and cooking time as this one would feed the 5000. I got a piece of pork shoulder from my local butcher for about £3 and it make a lovely sunday lunch, with enough left over for Sunday night sarnies... http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/chefs...recipe_p_1.html
