Sir Bobby Robson: fighting cancer again.
Super_Steve_Howey replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Inoperable means he'll be on drugs to control the cancer for the rest of his life. It means what he has cannot be cured and therefore IS terminal. Was told my Mam's cancer was 'inoperable', it was only after she died that I was told it was actually 'terminal' and that they choose not to use that word. Best of luck with it all Sir Bob. Cancer is not curable completely. He has always required reassessment, which is what probably spotted this early. Cheomotherapy can do just as good a job as an operation in this case, as you can't remove his lungs, hence 'inoperable', but not terminal. You're on borrowed time from the first diagnosis, which in Bob's case was decades ago -

I read there was a babysitting service available but they decided not to use it. I have to say i wouldn't let someone i know babysit my kids but then again i wouldn't leave them in an unattended villa in a foreign country. Do what everyother caring, sensible parent does, go out earlier for a meal then back to the villa with a carry out if you want to continue drinking. They've paid the ultimate price for their selfishness imo as I hate to say it but i don't think they'll be seeing her again, well not alive. I packed my job in this year to look after my son as we didn't want him going to a nursery when he's so young or being looked after by someone I don't know personally or trust. We've had to tighten the purse strings but it hasn't been that bad and we can sleep at night knowing he's getting one on one care and being cared for properly. Superdad tbh Does it really matter though? By having a career break or tightening your belt are you not just storing up money problems for the future? Parents are far too untrusting when it comes to care professionals, given the actual reality of the statistics. A controlled nursery environment can actually improve the emotional and interpersonal development required by children in their early years. -
Didn't you know, we're not supposed to hate mackems anymore, something about Big Sam and Jackie Milburn.... I'd have Keane here in a shot over Roeder. I'm sure you would

More to the point they did this nearly every night, even though there were plenty of other options avaialable to them -

Inoperable doesn't mean terminal in this case -
Short memories? How many people wouldn't touch Sam Allardyce with a barge pole last year? Short memories are abound in football.

? I can't decide. On a related note, who is renewing but wants Roeder out?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/6410297.stm God knows what our price would be up to by now had we actually won the Premiership like Blackburn. Anyway, forget that, Roeder out an all that jazz

The ROEDER OUT thread! FUCK OFF GLENN YOU QUIM

That sort of shite makes you wonder why anyone decent would come within a hundred miles of this job, but then again, no one has -
Thank GOD we've got a competent chairman!! We'll be fine!

Says a lot about Robson that he's big enough to come back and do that, considering how pissed off he initially was (with good reason). It also kinda suggests he may well have been big enough to accept being moved upstairs if fair notice had been given, and maybe might even have had a hand in finding his replacement. Or even raises the question as to whether he is still fit enough to play some role within the club, if Roeder is here next season I'd be pleased to see Robson here in some capacity though I doubt whether any established manager would want Robson about the place. I think he's earned his retirement don't you? He's lucky to still be alive, it would be down right reckless to give him the stress of a position here. He may have earned his retirement but do you think he'd take it if offered a position at Newcastle like DoF? I doubt it. That's the worrying thing, he probably would. Which is why we would be negligent in offering him it. -

Excellent! There must be a few doubts in the fat ones head for Roeder to come out with that. He actually probably means he hopes to have the 'luck' of an injury free crack at next season.
-
It's all so predictable... I think you're presuming a lot thinking they would even come here if offered
-
And my point is Dyer has been shite under 3 managers now. If you want someone to think like a right winger you play a right winger. And don't tell me they don't know what they should be doing, they're all professional footballers, if they need Roeder screaming at them to exploit space on the pitch they want shooting.
-
Ban please, Mods? And if i'm right, do I get a counter-strike ban?
-
What's Dyer going to do on the right? Have you ever seen him deliver a cross once? Perhaps he didn't change anything because Roeder knows full well he's shite at it. If anything he's at fault for picking him in the first place Being picked on the right against his wishes as well. And we all know KD's wishes override the manager's
-
He's tried the 'they're all shite' post match technique. It didn't work.

End of next season.

I think he's lost the team completely. I think that reflects more on the team than on Roeder. Who in that team is living up to their reputation? They know their jobs are not on the line as NUFC has a history of accomodating shite players, and not putting blame where it's due. They are a team of journeymen and also-rans, we only have 2 or 3? medal winners, and they are arguably on their way out. Added to the fact we have no money and despite the bollocks spouted by Freddy I doubt NUFC is any player's first choice. As long as the wages come in, I can't see any manager motivating them. It reflects on both. I seriously believe that if we got a good manager in who commanded respect from his players we'd see the level of performance improve. Good players don't just turn into bad players overnight. Well we've had a few in the last few years. I wonder how many we have to try

If fat Fred decides to be an arse with the FA and withold Owen as he's threatened, presumably that would be a justifiable reason for Owen to buy out his contract under the precedent set today by Wigan/Rangers/Hearts over Andy Webster, whereby a player having done 3 years of his deal can rip his contract up and pay compensation under 'just cause'. This would mean he could leave for no transfer fee. Who would pay his wages would be another matter. The Webster story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ian/6526119.stm
