I'd sooner put me knob into a circular saw. Absolutely rancid.

If it was a mis-kick, they wouldn't have pushed up like they did. I think was Keane who actually did the decent thing.

The Hilton! Should have followed some advice I got and booked the Metropole.

Work have packed me off to Leeds this week and I was sitting in the bar watching Andy Gray's last word bit before heading on to the restaurant for a spot of 'table for one' loser food. As if from nowhere some skanky drunk bint sits just across from me. "Are you going to buy me a drink?" "No." "Why not" "Because I'm watching the football" "If you buy me a drink I'll leave you along forever" "Get lost" So she gets up and goes. Now I figure something isn't up as she clearly ain't a guest in the hotel and I start wondering about the quality of doormanship going on at the entrance. Sure enough, 5 minutes later she's back, and it looks like she's successfully wangled a drink out of some poor bastard. "Will you talk for me for two minutes" "No." "Go on" "No. Look, you can have one. One minute" "No, Two." "Look just clear off, I'm just having a drink now do one" So this time I head off towards the restaurant and give my room number etc and sure as hell, she follows a minute later. "Look I've told you to get get lost" (at this point I am aware of the potential of causing a scene and i'm trying very hard not to unleash a sweary tirade). The waiting staff at the booking desk didn't seem to know what to do. Thankfully the head waiter was on and says 'come this way sir' and I quickly explain what's going on. Eventually she fucks off. She seemed upset at the dirty looks I was giving- and I really was being a horrible bastard- but what else can I do- I wouldn't even want to be in the same postcode as the daft drunk cow never mind sat near her. It's really pissed me off. I was pretty freaked out at the time (first was wondering if the hotel staff had been as so careless as to let 'street workers' in). I must have looked a right tool. I might just stay clear of there for the remainder of my trip.

I was very impressed by your shuttle runs to the bar for more bottles of bud. Canny day out like. Good to add some more poor souls to the collective.

Now considering where I have just been that could not be more on topic !!! 113181 I'm glad I read that other thread before this one. That sort of talk can set tongues wagging. (taxi)

That IFRS book is having a laugh. Carried it to FT for 3 days and think I'm going to book myself into physio for a knackered shoulder.

Cellnet became O2 years ago. Dropped the sponsorship when they changed.

Emre isn't going to be great all the time. When he's good he's very good, when he's not he might as well not be on the pitch. That's the way it is with that sort of player- if you don't like the inconsistency then you have the alternative of a player who is average week in, week out. If a player was fit and superb every week, he would probably be playing for someone else. Emre's been poor of late but I think some of the stick he's got is too harsh. Just imagine Amdy Faye or Lee Clark in that position.

It would Multiplex have a reputation as being something of a shark when it comes to contracts- they're not alone by any means but you'd think the FA would consider this when approving the bid. By comparison, Ashburton Grove is already finished- months ahead of schedule.

Aye, should be along. I was booked to attend a stocktake Saturday morning, but that could well end up taking place on Friday afternoon.

"Mr Burns, your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway express train".

At a fraction of the cost too. 109830 At such a fraction of the cost that the main contractor was later bought for £1.00 exactly as it stared liquidation in the face.

The International Joke Standards (IJS4) superceded this in 2002. Check it out, paragraph 4, section (ii).

She can't sing a note but she's there rain or shine- fair play. Never chucked any money in, mind. It might seem like an endorsement.

Over on the trading floor, Roeder faces up to a hefty loss on Boumsong.

But its not just about them getting to the final, its the teams that they beat along the way and how they beat them, as well as some impressive wins in the Champions League. 106361 You're in a better position than most to judge how he'd fit in at NUFC. What do you reckon?

I don't think the £12m clause is unfeasible, but that really would be the lowest bid we'd take anyway. We couldn't have anticipated the broken toe which has halved his season but the goals he has contributes will probably have seen us 4 or 5 places better off than we otherwise would have been. That's a couple of million in prize money alone, not to mention the fact it boosted merchendise sales, placated a lot of sponsors and most importantly shut up any disquiet against the board. He wasn't just bought for goals.

I don't think appointing the manager who is available and has the best reputation is the right way to go. You need to look more carefully about how that reputation has come about and the managerial style behind it. Is that success replicable in the environment in which he would find himself at Newcastle? I have no doubt that Martin O'Neill is a good coach and a superb motivator. Under his tenure we would not see the sort of season we had last year as hard work and organisation is all that is required to get into the top half of the Premiership. However I do have concerns about how he can get us into the European qualification places on a regular basis (which is ultimately what will be expected of him). What about his managerial methods? I confess that I do not know too much about his underlying style- is he a blood and thunder sort, or has he adapted to take in the more scientific approaches to the modern game? As for his managerial acheivements- I wouldn't class the SPL as a complete walk-over, but the UEFA final is not the greatest indicator. We weren't that far from acheiving that ourselves not to long ago when we lost to a Marseille side that were really nothing special. Another thing that concerns me is that his appointment will see the media lambast us for any slight rumbling of discontent under his tenure. As a media luvvy, he can do no wrong, therefore it would have to be our fault. In any successful organisation, there needs to be accountability and responsibilty. When one individual becomes 'untouchable', then it's unlikely that the organisation will be operating to its full potential.

My dentist is in Shields, had to sign up to monthly plan- cost about £10 a month. Mind you, it's ten times easier to get appointments now.

Shite. I hadn't realised they had a midweek game. Get snowing! Players must appeal decisions within 24 hours under the current rules, they don't get 14 days any more.

That was a straight red though. 105944 Gilberto was sent off for two yellows against us and missed the next game which was against Chelsea IIRC.

Suspensions will surely take place with immediate effect- remember Babayaro against Villa picking up a 2 game ban ruling him out of the subsequent games against Charlton and Everton.
