Boro may be quieter (work the day after) but there can be no excuse for not having a few drinks before the Charlton game. Sign your name in blood below.

My last day at work will be part spent in Darlington and part spent counting bottles of odd-coloured liquid.

I remember the game! Not so much for the Santa Claus incident, but for a waywayrd shot that ended up in the deep fat fryer of the burger van behind the goal. Funny at the time, but it could have been pretty nasty.

I seem to remember his deal being a two-year deal, as it seemed unusual for an incoming manager to get such a short term.

31 of me. Only one of them owns .com and .co.uk domains though. I am win.

The hardest working man I know moved to this country through marriage and works insane amounts of overtime in order to pay his mortgage and bills while his wife looks after their new baby. I'd sooner have his sort in this society than the charver layabout hordes I've had the misfortune of working alongisde or meeting in the past. There is certainly a major issue with our approach to immigration with the ever-expanding EU, but right now the much bigger problem is the section of our society that chooses to start fires, mug people, throw bricks at ambulances and so on.

Hardly the greatest idea the govt have ever come up with. The reason Al-Qaeda has proved such a problem is because of its decentralised nature. If certain mosques are meething places for terrorists, closing them will not stop them meeting. Arresting them will. In addition, any move would be useful for material for the extremist propaganda activists (who should in my view at least, be locked up for treason the moment they set about their way).

Pah, its phpBB critical error, anyway.

If there's a more terrifying group to cross I've not come across them! 68031[/snapback] Watch out. We're a fearsome mob.

Anything that says 'you will definitely lose all your data/passwords' etc is a hoax.

Silvestre is a decent defender, but he has the advantage of pace- often he can rectify is own errors through sheer speed. Would depends on the fee, but if he was going cheap I'd have him here in a shot.

The investor in question was Kia Joorabchian. He was put off by the asking price on the club then moved on to West Ham, where the same thing happened.

Not quite. I assume you are talking about the University of Central LancaSHIRE (aka UCLAN). It's in Preston- not the worlds greatest uni but if you like sport their facilities there are supposedly top class. Decent nightlife too, I'm told. However, I only ever went into Preston to change trains, so that's all the help I can give.

Of course, if they end up taking home more money than a nine-to-fiver, they might not be so daft after all.
-
I might be there, if I'm at the game at all. Pre-match only.
-
I remember the first time I got asked that and I got it straight away. I can't see what's tricky about it. I must just be eeeevil.

My highlight of last night was the guy who looked exactly like the South Park Jesus.

Note to all at next pissup: Keep Steve away from Lou's dad. On seconds thoughts...

Not sure about before the game, might be meeting someone on Gosforth High Street- should be around after the game. Was thinking- seeing as it may well be pissing down- what's the backup location for post-match meetup point?

I must point out that I was 10 at the time!

I'm still scarred from a Year 6 music lesson whereby no matter how hard i tried, I could not stretch my fingers to play a C chord.

Just out of interest how hard is it to play guitar? Been thinking about getting one sometime in the new year, finding my current setup a bit limited (1 keyboard synth and 1 rack synth). I fancy something different.

Pretty sure Southgate left in 2001, his last Villa game being at St James- won 3-0 I think, I remember Stephen Glass scoring a goal.

I lived with two maths people last year- one of them is still on the lookout for a graduate job, the other works for Barclays Capital in Tokyo. You have to look at it from the employers point of view. If they're looking for a first-class degree only, either they require a high level of proficiency or want someone who will be a workaholic. The bulk of grad jobs require only a 2:1. If you come out with any good degree then you can do pretty much anything you like, and if you can wheel off various experiences and skills gained outside of your uni curriculum (job related skills, not necking a pint in 4 seconds) then you will be an attractive prospect. I did the very generally-named 'Management' BBA at Lancaster (got a 2:1) and have somehow found myself as a trainee accountant and the little celebration I had for my 'last exam ever' back in June has proven premature in the extreme. I'll never mock Gemill again. I now realise it's not his fault.
