A lot of you who question what's happened with regards to Stevie will do well to take in what manc-mag wrote here. I couldn't have put it better myself Sammy

Right you want reason, I'll give you reason.... This isn't something that was decided by one person on a whim, it's been in discussion amongst the admin for 7 months. Since that time your posts have been editted on more than one occassion and a PM has been sent to you asking you to consider what you are posting before submitting. None of this advice has ever appeared to have been heeded. Your posting style - quite threatening to some, calling people cunts and borderline racism is water off a ducks back to us individually but as administrators of a forum, we have concerns on how it makes people perceive Toontastic. Skunkers has a reputation which we want to avoid echoing. We're not as liberal as them (frankly it's impossible) but we're not as 'lock-down' as Newcastle-Online. We never aimed to be either from the start, we aimed to fit in between - that was our niche and up until now we've been able to do that with hardly any intervention on our part. That's a credit to all the people who post on this forum in that they know when to draw the line. Allowing you to continue as you have done would move us towards the setup that is in place at Skunkers and the people who run this place - the people who have spent time and money developing this site over the past 4 years are unanimous in their belief that they don't want that. To be fair mate, you've got away with a lot more than others have in the past. No-one doubts that you're a knowledgable and passionate bloke but that doesn't excuse some of the actions you've taken. At the end of the day you are one person and the place would survive if you went. People said it wouldn't survive without Swindon Mag but it did. Posts such as this below is unacceptable - it is questioned by others in the same thread but we did nothing when we should. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=560248 Back in January, you posted a unionist song in your signature which was absolutely disgraceful. Still although we removed it and gave you a warning, we took no real action against you. Only this month you posted this which is totally unacceptable: http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=600859 Then to top it off it's well known that you've been asking the admins to disclose information of a user's location through where IP source is coming from. I fail to see why you need this info for any other reason but for ammunition in your agressive approach to certain posters. As for the moderation, you proved 100% in the second post on your return why post moderation was the correct measure to make. That particular post will not be approved. Bottom line is you've never once taken any notice of this sticky that Peasepud made 7 months ago. Perhaps you should read it sometime: http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=21091 So to sum it up, we've kept an eye on your actions and kept note of what you've said and when you did. Given all this, I doubt there's many on here who will disagree that a 7 day suspension was justfied. Make no mistake, the decision to suspend you was not challenged by any member of the admin or moderation teams.

Concerning that we haven't actually. They usually announce the design about late March for it to be worn for the last home game of the season. Maybe adidas are moving on from us?
-
Just one thing to sort - the forum / thread header bars. They should be a darker grey than they actually are.
-
Not my fault that one... Maggiespaws is testing.... OK, it should be resolved except for the banner line which needs making black again. I'm sure we'll work that one out somehow.
-
oops! If I had time, I'd try and fix whatever it was I'd done We'll try and get it sorted ASAP.

No I don't you cheeky fucker Thank you feeling the need to start on me though Danny....

Divulge - I'm quite interested to hear this in detail. Don't get me wrong, I've only posted on here or N-O but this forum is a hundred times better than N-O. I just don't understand why someone like Danny B can post absolute rubbish with the sole intent of winding people up and allowed to continue while a stalwart poster like Stevie gets the boot. I'm an out-of-towner so no doubt Stevie would have a craic at me given the opportunity but at least his banter is good and he generally knows what he's talking about where football's concerned. (I'm at work so I'm limited to the length of this response). And for the record I disagree with the non-use of certain profanities, if it's in the dictionary it's fair game If we banned people for winding others up, there'd be no-one left. Where football's concerned, Stevie does know a hell of what he's talking about but his attitude to some others on here has been drawn into question in the past and he's been asked (informally) to tone it down on more than one occassion. As for profanities, it's judged as it's always been from day one. Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's fair game. Paedophilia is on the internet, doesn't mean we'll accept it being posted here.

He said something else as well which is why I haven't approved it. He plays nicely, his posts will be approved and perhaps moderation will be dropped. At the moment, not a chance! Post moderation? It's a bit N-Oish isn't it? Let him post what he wants, he knows the rules. If he breaks them then ban him again, it'll be his own fault. No it's a bit Toontastic-ish actually The difference is we can see what he's trying to post and for the time being moderation is obviously the correct decision. Banning (permanently) will be the next stage - but it's our decision, not yours. I was only making a fucking point, no need to come across like a dickhead. Making a point or telling us what we should do?

Stevie, I've replied to your PM - this isn't going to be dragged out in the public areas. However a comment I will extend to all members is that it is imperative that you ensure that the email address you list in your registration is a current address that you regularly monitor. This field can be updated at ANY time. If not, then important messages / announcements cannot be picked up and incidents such as this occur.

needs to fucking clean it as well - them sills are filthy, can see where SWP has been banging his head!
-
Hard not too really It's not necessarily the car, it's the way he makes himself look like a cock with the hoody and baseball cap.
-
Maybe, just maybe there's a glimmer of hope.....

He was at the funeral of the oil workers lost in the helicopter crash. Front row, of course. Knew them personally no doubt

Can't you make your mind up who to support Danny?

Liverpool football fans have barracked the Minister for Culture, Media and Sport at the Hillsborough memorial service at Anfield. More than 25,000 attended the service at the stadium in Liverpool to mark the 20th anniversary of the disaster which left 96 football fans crushed to death. Andy Burnham MP was not listed on the order of service, but he was introduced to the crowd by Trevor Hicks, who lost two daughters at the stadium in Sheffield. When Mr Burnham said the 96 dead will never be forgotten, some fans heckled and the crowd broke into a chant of "Justice for the 96". The feelings among Liverpool fans are still raw and they are upset that nobody has ever been made legally responsible for the disaster. Mr Burnham waited for the singing to fade before continuing his prepared speech, but he had to contend with several more hecklers before returning to his seat. Was about to post the same - they want another public enquiry and being minister for Sport, this is the nearest they were going to get to someone who can make that decision. FWIW, I'm surprised that 'media whore' Gordon Brown wasn't there.

I totally get what you're saying snakey. I've always been affected by it - the thought of what happened has sent shivers down my spine ever since. The lack of accountability has fuelled the feelings over the years. I do believe that if justice had been served, it wouldn't be as big a thing as it is. It's more than just Liverpool though - football itself changed that day. It was heading in a direction where we'd all have been branded as a problem - fans had been contained within cages and then the government wanted everyone to carry an identity card. It's because of what happened on that day that football is the way it is today in my book. The fact that it was Liverpool fans and happened at Hillsborough is inconsequential. It could have happened at any time, to any club in any stadium. With my lass being a Liverpool fan, I have had more visibility to it than I did before. I saw her about an hour ago and she broke down, says she's been doing so all day long and then was profusely apologetic for doing so. Still after all these years it hurts her like hell and she didn't even go. Danny is right - it is a time for rememberance but not just about those who died. We should appreciate the good it did for the game, particualrly making it a safer environment so that the young generations can watch and enjoy the beautiful game. BUt it didn't, it happened to the same club's fans twice !! Comparing Heysel & Hillsborough is ridiculous. They're two totally different situations, the only commonality being that the result was the death of football fans within a sporting arena. Whilst blame cannot be taken away from the Liverpool fans entirely, they're not the reason the Hillsborough disaster happened, nor could you genuinely claim that had it been another club it would have been a different outcome. Heysel they were liable for, although the Juve fans weren't entirely blameless. Hillsborough was something else.

It wasn't the numbers, it was the concentration within the central pens. The Leppings Lane terrace had lateral divisions and prevented those within a full pen to move sideways. I read an account earlier of somone who was in pen 3. Said he got into the ground at 2.30 and with the pen already packed, he stood at the back. 15 minutes later he was halfway to the pitch and those who had been in front of him at 2.30 were STILL in front of him!
