  1. Been a great servant for the club, I think it speaks volumes that for years Shay has come out and publicly spoken about how the club needs to match his ambition yet following his comments has stayed at the club. I would imagine that this has been due to the manager outlining his ambitions, and Shay seeing signings come to the club which could improve the team. Probably for only the 2nd time in his tenure at Newcastle he has felt like the club isnt going in the right direction. Ive got no grudge against him for wanting to leave now. It is a sinking ship.
  2. We are going the wrong way with Kinnear at the club. I am very surprised we have made any signings and I can only think that the players have come for the cash. Good managers tempt in good players and Kinnear just doesnt have the draw we need to make any progress. We dont want a miracle manager, im certainly not dillusional to think that anything short of a total rebuild will put us anywhere near to where we once were. All I want from the club is an owner I can trust in, a manager I can believe in and a team which looks like its capable of getting results and giving us all hope. At the moment we have none of those and its the worst team we have seen for about 7 or 8 years
  3. Couldnt be going to a better place IMO, probably peaking at what they can acheive as a club, low on supporters trying to encourage oval ball fans to watch football. Love to see him disappear into obscurity now he's on his way. We have robbed them for ££££s if the figure is to be correct.
  4. So does this mean that you think if Ashley gives Kinnear a bit more wedge for the next few days and lets him have this extended contract then all will be good? Since Kinnear has been here, I have seen nothing from the team to suggest that Kinnear deserves the job on a long term basis. Im sick of his bleatings, think his tactical decisions have a lot to answer for and I doubt that under his stewardship, we will see anything better than lower half of the table
  5. Bassong hasnt started yet.
  6. I think they have skewed the article in saying that we're in financial difficulty. We are no-where near the overspend of some of the top 4 clubs. However, if you look at it from another perspective, "doing a Leeds/Wednesday/City/Forest/Coventry" is the situation of a big club being relegated from the top flight, losing a host of players and having to rebuild over a period of years and in the wake of it all, possibly suffering a further relegation from the Championship. I think if we did go down, unless new owners with cash came in, we could be in freefall. The first team would be made up of the reserves and players from the Championship and we would be struggling to get back up the following season.
  7. I hope he does well, a bit of good news in amongst a load of shite doesnt do any harm
  8. Ashley may as well save his cash on Jokin and just appoint Wise to do it. He cant honestly be any worse at this current time. Im beginning to dislike Jokin week by week
  9. I look at this "statement" 2 ways 1 - There is absolutely no contract offer on the table. Jokin has been told to make the statement in an attempt to show some kind of continuity at the club and even to dupe the players into staying (why on earth would they do that with Jokin at the helm?!) 2 - He's been offered the contract (Showing zero ambition from MA) and things are that bad at the club with the current regime, that even Kinnear doesnt want it! Either that or the pay offer is lower than any other premiership club and Jokin thinks he can get more elsewhere. Either way, both are a total disaster and highlight the current plight at the club.
  10. I stilll reckon itll be Epic. Full blooded game as it brings extra significance in our predicament. Doesnt mean to say I think we will win though.
  11. If he's here for another 8 games and his ratio doesnt pick up, it would make no sense at all considering MA got rid of FSA after 24 games with a better ratio.
  12. Hard working with a work ethic. Something Blackburn will achieve next season with time and building Tbf, I'd rather see us relegated than have that fat dullard managing us. Your wish just may come true.... We are as bad as any other club in the bottom 6 at the moment - nothing to suggest that we will improve.
  13. Im quite looking forward to next year. I would imagine that we'll do quite well in the Championship. 2-1 Carroll
  14. I say play the reserves........cant do much worse?
  15. Urgency for more players further highlighted. Reckon we'll be down at this rate.
  16. If there was ever an advert to highlight the ineptness of the management of the club, it is tonights game. Kinnear is seriously out of his depth.
  17. Ill be watching it provided the streams working. My expectations are so low these days, I dont even get pissed off anymore when we lose.
  18. Reckon we'll get tanked tonight. I can see Bellamy getting one in typical ex player style. I do actually hope we get beat, pushing us a place below (if Blackburn win). It might actually wake the management up to think that something seriously needs to be done before the window shuts. We're in freefall if we do lose.
  19. Harps is probably the only reason why im not fuming at the loss of Given. Not once while Harps has been the understudy have I ever worried about the GK slot whilst Given has been out. Rightly deserves the no.1 in my opinion, and will certainly do an excellent job of it.
  20. I think it is possible that we could turn the clubs fortunes around in the summer, but that's a massive rebuilding job. We would have to clear something in the region of 8 players out of the club to trim the wage bill, and then invest in the same amount of players just to replace them. These have to be of substantial quality to come here and lift the club. The issue is attracting them. In that, Ashley would need to redress the current setup involving his mate Wise and get rid of JFK. We are not a credible opportunity with the current management team. Whatever Llameass does I dont know, because he certainly doesnt act as the club spokesman anymore. There definitely needs to be more transparency towards the fans that is without doubt.
  21. Cant begrudge Shay for going, Im more angry at the club for not matching his ambition. Crazy to think of the team without Given, he's been in net for that long. Strange to think that we've had him for so long, yet he's leaving us in his prime. Good luck to him. Another nail in the coffin.
  22. Since Kinnear has arrived at the club, it doesnt feel like Newcastle United for me. When I see Kinnear on TV, I sometimes dont consider that he manages our club, its as if we are watching something which says its our club, looks like our club but certainly doesnt feel like our club. Im half hoping for implosion at the club to clear out the owners, management staff, shite players and there to be a new dawn following that. At this moment in time, Im pretty non-plussed about us being relegated, hoping that somehow, Ashley and his cronies will leave town and give it up to someone who gives a shit. Maybe im just fed up with football this last few weeks, looking at the cataclysmic gap between us & Man City (In terms of cash) and the likes of Man Utd & Chelsea (in terms of quality). To think a few years back City were sitting in the 3rd tier of English football, while we were challenging in Europe and in domestic cup competitions. We dont have to win anything, but having the optimism that something might just happen is what keeps you going as a football fan. Any optimism surrounding the club at the present time has gone, and I honestly can't see when itll return.
  23. Thats one of the few articles which has hit every nail on the head for me.
