1. Totally agree. I thought Lard Lad might have learnt his lesson after last time and having seen the effect top european coaches have had on Chelsea and Liverpoo. It looks like he is going to be as insular and myopic as ever (I'd love him to make me eat my words mind). 93850 Exactly, its all there for him. Look at the teams who went for top class european coaches: Arse - trophy after trophy, great football, doubles Pool - CL winners! Chelsea - almost invincible (except against Boro!) Spurs - for the first time in years actually good and will get into europe
2. Luque makes the valid point that under fuckwitt souness we were playing truly awful long ball football alot of the time and that was pointless for a player like Luque. Under Roeder we'll be playing the kind of football where we can actually finally judge if Luque has a chance of making it in the prem or not, i certainly haven't made up my mind based on what Souness did to him. As for Owen i've only ever worried he'll leave if Souness stayed and now he's gone. Pick a decent manager and Owen will give it at least another season to see where things are going. People always forget some of the reasons Owen is happy here: He will genuinely be worshipped as a striker here in a way the scousers did for Fowler but never Owen He is paid a shit load he'll play every game (when fit!) and his international place will be assured which we know is important to him he seems to like the area and is stlled well enough without the need to go through a move all over again
3. To the likes of Anal Oliver and fat Fred the idea of going after one of europe's top coaches, a double CL winner etc. is somehow strange. And the idea that toon fans unlike the two of them aren't all inward looking, blinkered and obsessed with brit managers is also puzzling. With Hitzfeld out of work if Fat Fred doesn't even try then yet again he's fucking up and i hope there won't be any defence of him for once again faling to do the job for which he is massively overpaid. If Hitzfeld says no thanks, then fair enough, we've tried and failed.
4. You just know somebody will employ him though, and then maybe one day he can bring a team to St. James park, get a hammering and have the piss ripped out of him for 90 mins!
5. I'd like to hear Lineker on MOTD go "And now lets here from David O'Werepig...i mean O'Leary!"
6. The great thing with Roeder is, that even if he doesn't want it and would refuse it he can definitely do the job for this season (last 2-3 games excepeted!) Which means should Fat Fred not be able to get his first choices he doesn't need to rush somebody shite into the post and can wait till the close season to try again for a top class manager. Personally i suspect we'll have a manager in place within the next 2-3 weeks, but Roeder is showing we don't have to if we can't get one of the best out there just yet.
7. Agree 100%. It was hilarious but typical of Wenger to suggest that Faye should have been sent off but not Flamini (for it was he). 93182 Yeah, Wenger yet again showing what a complete cock he really is. Both challenges were shocking with the intent to do some damage, but its fine for his players to do it. I don't like Bolton but i love the way they rub arsenal up the worng way and started the whole tactic of basically bullying arsenal who are a bunch of arrogant, whinging little tarts who deserve every team now kicking them about, and we played our part in it as well!
8. It will be inetersting to see who misses out and who plays. It'll be a risk because whilst the pitches will massively favour spinners, if the spinners we pick don't do the business we will have lost a top class pace bowler from our attack who may have done bette. We really have to hope whichever spinners play do the business when called upon. I suppose they could always use Vaughan as a second spinner allowing an extra bowler to play, but i don't know that he bowls enough or is rated enough for them to risk that?
9. Both Nobby and souness have said he was being instructed to play that way. Which is typical, only souness would buy villa's player of the season and tell him to do the exact oppositte of what he was doing well at villa!!! One of the best things about Zog is his coolness of finishing, he doesn't panic, he doesn't snatch at it and just places it low and away from the keeper, definite sign of class.
10. Before he took over i knew Roeder was a respected coach so i was happy with him, but he keeps on impressing whever you read/see articles and interviews with him. The one i read on saturday had him discussing how he was working with the back four as a unit, actually practising tactics and plans together and hoiw they should move as a unit and cover for each other etc. Some of the things he knows souness doesn't: Width players in position tactics formations organisation actual team spirit not made up bollocks motivation man management idea of actually attacking now and then how not to be a complete prick! And so on...
11. I thought his name was Mike "Penalty to manu" Riley! Anyway they're pretty much all shite, biassed, gutless pricks, so he won't be much worse than anyone else! I'm going to go crazy and predict a win for us and that we'll score more than 1 goal Shearer and Nobby amongs the goals i think. 92664 Well i'm happy with my prediction! A win, more than 1 goal and whilst Big Al and Nobby didn't score they were both involved in both goals, so i'm claiming that as well
12. Nice one Glenn, the bloke gets better with every passing day! O'dreary seems like many idiots in football to be unaware that players are paid to score goals, and other players are paid to block them and save them. So when our players do their job an his don't it isn't luck its us doing what we are supposed to, what a prick! And anyone on here think for a second we would have had a chance of scoring twice, responding to an equaliser and holding out with 10 men under Souness away from home...would we bollocks!!!
14. I will be if we win Seriously though, its great to see that Roeder appreciates the simplicity of tactics and gameplans that can be employed at times. You have strikers who need crosses and width in the team so he plays with wingers out wide!!! He also appriciates, amazingly enough, that we may have to attack teams away from home, whereas Souness guided us to 10 out of 13 prem games without us scoring! Under Souness if Owen didn't play away from home we may as well have not turned up.
15. don't frequent Panis but am a regular in the Telegraph....cracking jukebox... 92482 Same here. Never been to Pani's but am in the telegraph pretty much every time i'm on a night out in town.
16. I've always liked the look of Zog, not just his potential ability, but his willingness to go past players, to attack the ball and to shoot when the chance arrives. He clearly has confidence in himself and he also puts in the effort over 90 mins. Of course a "proper" judge of footballers like Souness thought Ameobi (an out of form striker) playing on the left was a better bet than Zog there, so what do the likes of us fans know!
17. I've said all along that any serious well orchestrated effort is to be applauded because if it can get the attention of any of the following it will be a job well done: The media Fat Fred Hitzfeld himself! We all know the power of the media because many fans, players and chairmen are thick as pig shit and believe anything they're fed in the press/on tv (something Souness knew better than most) so it could easilly build in the media, getting more fans on side, thus getting it into the press more, then egtting more fans, and so on... If Fred believes this is who the fans want theres a good chance it'll influence his decision as he knows this time he has to get a manager who has our backing from day one. And if Hitzfeld hears about it, who knows it may make a tiny bit of difference if nothing else, after all its nice to be wanted!
18. About time Fifa/uefa finally acted, its been long overdue. And as an added bonus Emre misses six games so we don't risk one of our key players getting injured all the time and he'll be refreshed for matches around internationals now instead of tired.
19. Certainly won't do any harm at all, and if this and anything like it actually managed to get the press to notice it could be helpful. Because if the press started making the point toon fans want Hitzfeld theres always the chance Fred will be influenced. With this appointment he wants it to be right in two ways, firstly a top class manager to turn the club around, but secondly somebody he believes the fans want and will back from day one. So fair play to anybody making an effort to get Hitzfeld here, he'd be my first choice if we could get any of the bosses available.
20. Voice over: "Would you like to meet single, like minded men in your area for walks in the park and maybe more? Then call 0898 123 456"
21. So you do think there is a racism problem in the UK? Because as I understand it the article is having a dig at the UEFA official who is implying that there is a big problem... 89856 FĂșcking hell, is there no end to it on this forum. In point of fact I was agreeing with the comments from Gemmill about the shite in the piece, so if you have a problem and want some kind of expansion about why it's shite, I suggest you ask him or anybody else who thinks it's crap and that Uefa is run by arseholes. Don't ask me 'cos I can't be arsed to get drawn into something else. 89869 Well, by stating it is a "shite article" I understood you meant the article itself is shite. If you only meant it is dealing with a shite subject then fair enough. But I am willing to drag this further into a mulit-page argument if you want. I can even throw in the odd insult, you racist middle-class Englishman. 89884 You see, you just haven't been paying attention!!! Its because of the middle classes that racism has decreased, listen to the uefa man, its the nasty working classes who are responsible for racism...so HTL is a racist working class englishman!
22. If we won the FA cup you can guarentee either Souness or one of his mates will be in there taking credit from Roeder and implying they did all the ground work. In fact whatever we do next season (and even this) under Roeder and the new boss we will be told (by those who never watched us or who are just morons) that its all been possible because Souness "sorted out the dressing room" and build a lovely, stable, proper, real mans football club etc. Whereas anything we do this or next season is entirely in spite of Souness and will be a massive tribute to Roeder or the new boss.
23. Your house, your rules and by the sounds of it you're doing your job as a parent better than certain other people! All you can do is apply your standards of what is allowed/not allowed, tell them off/shout at them and if it goes too far then you would have to call their parents as obviously you couldn't for example give them a smack or you'd be in deep shit!
24. The simple fact is, if we're honest, unless somebody smacks you full in the face with an upercut, a flying elbow or some sort of heavy object you never actually need to hit the deck, and you certainly don't need to clutch your face like a little girl and screech in "agony". Seriously, anyone on here who's ever been hit in the face did you hit the deck or roll around on the ground, did you bollocks and thats a proper hit. If somebody taps you with a finger or slaps you then you'd have barely moved an inch. So any player who says they aren't cheating or feignign injury is a liar as well as a complete prick. Any players who do should retrospectively get the same ban as the player who got the red for "hitting them". The only difference is they serve their 3 matches playing rugby union where they'll encounter some actual men and some actual injuries and may come back acting less like tarts.
25. Shall i just add my usual (and as ever, correct) point that uefa and fifa are run by corrupt, braindead, utterly biassed and spineless twats. And point out that many of them blatantly do have it in for the english and always will have, because parts of that article are just embarassing.
