  1. out of the two I'd have gone for Mascherano first anyway, more likely to be able to transfer his style to the premiership than Tevez.
  2. genuinely believe it's got something to do with the kind of soil/pitch we play/train on. do our injuries compare to Sunderlands? I don't count Boro because they're insulated by a thick layer of pollution.
  3. 1st Matirx film was a very good film which, because it lacked hype, fast became a cult classic. It showcased some neat new filing techniques and brought the possibilities with wirework to people who would not be familiar with it. because of all that it twisted itself into a GREAT film. 2nd and 3rd spoiled it, as did the hype that soon caught up with it. but anyway, I think we all knew it was a bottle of bubbly too..
  4. I'm a little concerned as to how we're going to play when Owen returns. They're both deceptively good in the air (Martins leap's like a salmon and Owen just times his jumps to perfection) but the wingers we have might become frustrated that the majority of their crosses go to waste. Hopefully who-ever is our manager will be able to shake up the system to present balls into space, or at the very least along the deck from the wingers.
  5. just be glad I didn't break out the big guns.
  6. I'd even take the opportunity to give Sibs and Emre the day off. Play a bare bones squad, Huntington, Pattison, O'Brien given their chance. At worst we'll get beaten soundly, at best we get beaten and put in a good display.
  7. can't you have 3 winners for the inter-two-bob?
  8. can't be from Zoggy's cross, Zoggy's pass goes backwards or horizontal at the very worst... it's not a forward pass.
  9. Somebody should console Thatcher by telling her she'll soon be meeting with Pinochet - hopefully in hell. And when she goes, we can get the nebuchadnezzars out. Babylonian kings? No dumbass, he means the hovership thing Morpheus captained in the Matrix trilogy.
  10. tbh I want out of this country as well... I wouldn't choose any of the countries listed because none of them have the good grace to speak english as their primary language
  11. Gillet seems to have pedigree with sports teams as well, he's not simply an investor blindly throwing money at a toy. I'd love to find out how his stewardship affected performances at the Canadiens, both on the ice and the balance sheet. but I'm lazy and can't be arsed
  12. Leazes man, at least admit we're stagnant and have been for the last ten years? we've made zero progress since then and don't give me shite about consistently appearing in Europe because if you put the Inter-two-Bob in the same bracket as the Champions League I'll ... I'll lose faith in humanity tbh
  13. From .com was checking Physioroom to see if they had owt, but nope. What I did notice is that the teams in the bottom 3 (Charlton, Watford and West Ham) are each only missing 3 players, and it's only Ashton and King that strike me as having the ability to really do anything about their clubs predicament. Ashton is out until the end of December, King for the season. I can't see them getting out of this shit they're in unless they buy in the window. If that's the case, surely that takes pressure of the rest of the clubs who were, potentially, in that dogfight. I include us in that. I guess what I'm thinking is.. would it be worth our while putting our spending on hold? just late night musings I s'pose.
  14. FCUM and Leazes, sitting in a tree...
  15. I'd agree if it wasn't taged. I don't know, maybe it's me, but real team spirit doesn't come from holding hands and singing Kum Ba Yah, it's the willingness to dig in for your team mate. I fully expect them to be patting each others arse and yelling "Good Job" at every opportunity, next you'll see "I'd like to thank God" speeches being given on receipt of the MoM Bottle of Bubbly. I'm all for unity and camaraderie, but when it's as plastic as the seating it just riles me. the best display of team spirit I've seen is the mass goal celebrations and the smiles on the faces of players appreciating eachothers effort or endeavour. but as Hips said, it's just an opinion so no harm, no foul
  16. strikes me as another step towards the american-isation of the sport. Like cheerleaders, music when teams score and them daft buggers at Bolton who race up and down the pitch with geet big flags everytime Bolton score. it's entirely twatful
  17. I'd take him. No point crying over spilt milk now, we didn't sign him before, but if we have the chance of signing him now, then I'd snap their hands off. I know he's a tendancy to get himself injured combing his hair or something, but even if he plays 20 games a season, he's a stark improvement on the players we've got.
  18. one of the 100 most influential skiers of all time apparently. it'll be handy when our players go out on the piste wait up jon, I'm right behind ya
  19. I think you're forgetting yon big yin
  20. was 7-1 up agaisnt liverpool in the League cup second leg, they scored 6... fucking 6! went out on away goals... fucking shocking.
  21. Because Blackburn is a shit team with no fans. I've never seen Ewood park at capacity, a mate of mine who supports them blames it on too many big clubs nearby. Yes, I also see the flaw in that logic.
  22. Aphex Twin? Boards of Canada? I'm enjoying Beck at the minute... and although you may already have it all, Jimi Hendrix?
