1. Sorry to hear of your loss, SLP. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
2. Post some pictures to make me laugh. I'm bored and sick of work.
3. Except mine was black.
4. It looks like one of a series of Powerade ads that we've had over here for a while with several stars of other sports including LeBron James hitting several full court shots in warm ups and an american football star (Vic, IIRC) throwing a ball into the stands from the endzone. There's a video of the Basketball one here: http://www.snopes.com/photos/advertisements/lebron.asp And the football one here: http://www.mknx.com/v/powerade.wmv
5. The best story about this was a town in Texas where a Christian group sued to have a monument to Christian creation beleifs on public property (separation of church and state issues.) They won, on the basis that censuring those beliefs was tantamount to denying them their first amendment (free speech/freedom of religion) rights. The funny part is that as soon as the courst came down on this issue, the town was innundated with requests (which according to the ruling they HAD to accomodate) for several different religions to have their creation beliefs displayed as well.
6. Zathras, are you saying anything that is not demonstrable under controlled conditions cannot be regarded as a fact? 54454 I'm pointing out that part of the argument, not seriously forwarding it as my own opinion. Although one could make a very strong case for that point of view. Got my degree actually.
7. Microevolution is accepted fact. Macroevolution is most assuredly not. Oh, and just to be fair and balancedâ„¢, gravity is a theory as well, so I refuse to believe in it also.
8. I know four people who've done similar. Three worked out horribly. One worked out okay, but only because he had family and friends in the new city as well. In my own case, I can only say that I am 1000% glad that I did not do so when I had the notion to do so.
9. The Algarve was nice to visit, but I would not like living there. Didn't like the roads or the cuisine enough for every day. And to be fair, I was in Dublin as a tourist for two days
10. Former #10 forward here. Still got the ball skills but I'm afraid the fitness is long gone.
11. Oh, and having lived for at least a couple of months in Newcastle The Algarve (Portugal) Hyderabad, India Michigan California (bay area) I can honestly say that I find Minnesota preferable to all of them. Although I loved my time in Newcastle. (and I liked the time I spent in Dublin too)
12. You're from Minnesota? I'd love to critisise but I'm from Dublin, population of under 2m and where I currently live I think the population is under 50. 52107 Minnesota is lovely. And it gives me license to criticize all these pussies who go on about it being cold in Newcastle.
13. US, dark country lanes, hill-billies, 'Deliverence' country! 52103 Ah, I thought you meant it was a film. Population of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne: 259,573 Population of Minneapolis, MN : 2,968,806 So no.
14. In reality, the True story of Ed Gein is as chilling as any film based on his life. I'm not sure what "Hicksville" is.
15. be interesting to see what comes top in tonights '50 most scary moments' thing tonight, I think that film was well done in the list! But then Buffy has just featured in the top 20 i think! good grief 51903 I'd just flicked over when I saw 'Buffy' in there. 51928 To be fair none of them are actually scary as they aren't real, so its subjective at best, but the episode of Buffy they put in was a good choice. Everybody was rendered unable to speak/make a sound and a group of evil looking creatures were going around at night cutting out peoples organs and they were unable to scream for help. So there! 52087 Parts of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based on fact. Obviously there's 'true' and 'based on a true story' but there's a lot of fact woven into the movie. There wasn't a family in Texas of cannibals who murdered people with chainsaws. But there was a guy in Wisconsin who robbed graves, murdered people and evicerated them with other implements. When they investigated his house, they did in fact find (as in the film) a disemboweled woman hanging from a meat hook. The same 'real man' also was used as inspiration for Buffalo Bill and Norman Bates.
16. The thing about the original TCM is that it doesn't actually have much gore. A bit of blood, but not exaggerated or anything. It is disturbing not for its gore but for what actually happens.
17. I think that the best horror movie I ever saw was the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
18. A one match ban for Carr I think. 49252 The Headline could read 'Carr Parked for 1 game' go on, tell me i'm a wasted talent 49257 You're a waste.
19. Saw her speak once. Very unassuming and quiet, but with that quiet power that comes from the confidence you get from being through a system like Highlander and a movement like she was a part of. Truly a legend in her own time. Sad that we can no longer say 'a living legend.' RIP
20. Bah. You Northeastern Brits think you're so hard with your 'cold weather.' You're a bunch of pussies.
21. Speaking as a resident of Minnesota, I enjoy breaking the law with startling regularity.
22. Helps a bit; which program do you use?
23. Hey all, I've made a video for a non-NUFC player but I'd still like your feedback (and any suggestions as to how to reduce the sheer size of the file.) Waldo's Way
