Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
David Kelly replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
It doesn't benefit the club to let players go on the cheap whether they want to be here or not. The training on his own bit will be because he's not up to pace with everyone else. I'm sure it's a normal thing in the circumstances just being made into something because of his situation.- 1745 replies

I wouldn't. We might not get £35m for him but £15m is well under valuing him in the current market. Bournmouth just spent £15m on Jordan Ibe. It's no use valuing players at the rates of a couple of year ago. It's a different ball game now.- 1745 replies

He clearly isn't a frontline spinner we just don't seem to have any others in county cricket which are deemed up to the standard. Ali is trying to learn to be one playing at the most difficult level. He's going to take a beating some times.

Pogba's valuation on there is £60m. They're miles off now and always have been.- 1745 replies

He didn't score an own goal and get substituted playing for the reserves who were three nil down at the time.

If Finn can find his form again (which it's starting to look like) then we are going to have an embarassment of riches in the bowling attack. Anderson, Broad, Stokes, Woakes, Finn and Wood coming back. Stokes could be used as more of a specialist batsman but I think that might take something away from him. He loves to contribute to the team whether it be batting, bowling or fielding. I'd fear if you took one aspect away from him then it might effect the others. Would we want/be able to make use of five seamers in the attack?

Aye I think he would offer nothing if he stayed. He couldn't be arsed to play in the premiership so why would anyone think he'd put the least bit effort in now. And more than any other player I've seen, he's one who needs to be putting in the effort to be remotely useful.- 1745 replies

Do you not think moving Ali up the order would be a cautious move anyway? He's an establised international whereas Borthwick or Bell Drummond aren't. And Rashid managed a 60 against Pakistan last year. For me it's a more cautious move than bringing in two virtually untried players. Of course they could bring Bell back in, that would be really cautious.
-
Who would they have played? They seem to be struggling with who to play at four but they have it seems, quite a bit of confidence in Ali. Move him up the order and bring in Rashid who's anything but a mug with the bat. I certainly don't think they will do this if Vince isn't injured but I think it's as likely as any other option if he is and Stokes still isn't fit.
-
If Vince's finger injury had been worse they might have gone for the second spinner option but it's just bruising apparently.

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread
David Kelly replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
From what I've seen of Diame he looks like he wants to move the ball forward. He also as the physicality to boss a midfield. I'm not sure he has the range of passing Shelvey is supposed to have but then again I'm not sure Shelvey really does have that range. I've seen precious little of it in his time here. We certainly can't be playing a three of Hayden, Colback and Anita again though. -

I think Diame is the last midfielder we'll see come in this window. If we sign the 3 that Rafa seems to want I think a striker (of a Mitro ilk), winger and leftback are the likely positions. If we get a backup striker and starting wideman & leftback, I reckon we'll piss the league. -

I agree. I suppose that's a problem in itself though. -
Aye I saw that. He looked good at the start of last season for them. I'd be happy to see him here.

I don't think he's as bad as some people make out. After his sending off against Arsenal (which I still think was hash), he never looked like getting sent off again until that final day. Obviously the fact that sending off came our of nowhere is a concern but the way some people talk you'd think he was going around kicking fuck out of people every week. -
I really hope we sign a new one but I doubt we will. I think Clark was our last defensive recruit which is the most disapointing thing about his signing for me.

Rio Summer Olympics 2016 - Surviving is the Real Medal
David Kelly replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in General Chat
I like some of the minority sports in both the summer and winter Olympics. Always enjoy the curling. My mate said he was glued to the fencing yester I've watched a bit hockey and swimming so far but can't get into the cycling at all. It's alright round the track but these road races are dull as fuck other than the last 30 seconds. -
I don't know who got MOM in the end but it was a hard pick. Lots of contributions with the bat and ball which was pleasing to see.
-
I think Janmaat would have offered more natural width and been better attacking. Rafa obviously tried them both there pre season and they both scored from that position. I think there's an element of integrating the new players, in a new league and still with a fairly new manager that all makes a performance like that one understandable. So yes I agree those players would probably do better later on in the season if they were picked together. I'm fairly confident though that baring an injury crisis we won't see that midfield again.

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread
David Kelly replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye I think last season there was definitely a bit of a lack of faith. I think this was more down to a worry about his temprement than his ability. I guess Rafa was concerned that a sending off could be critical to our chances of survival at that point. But we did have a senior striker in Cisse then that we don't have now and I think he'll realise that in this league even more than the premier league, we'll need a presence up top. And Mitro will likely get more chances from the ref's in this division so the risk of him getting sent off isn't so high. -
Friday went just as I expected it to (even though I stuck a tenner on us to win) but I've said all along that I still think we will do well this season. I expect a massive improvement here.

It's soul sapping just seeing his name on the team sheet.
-
I was going to say, you do realise the build has nothing to do with the quality of the streams. But there doesn't seem any point.
-
Aye I'm really enjoying The Night Of.

Everyone was singing the don't take me home chant at the Euros. We've been singing it since Benfica at least. I found it quite disconcerting to hear it at the cricket though. It just doesn't go. Great result yesterday though, said to my dad just after lunch that it looked like we had no chance of getting the result then Moeen got his first and we really started to beleive from there. Glad to see Finn start to turn his form around.
