  1. I'll be interested to see who comes in for him. He's a player who gets talked up a lot by pundits who I can only assume only watch his highlight reel. If a club like Arsenal do come in for him it will tell you a lot about the level of scouting these clubs do.
  2. His game is solely based on pace and power and if he can't be arsed (which he can't most of the time) he's useless. I suspect he'd be arsed even less in the championship and we'd see even less decent games from him. I suppose if he were to end up somewhere like Arsenal then he might be more up for it so you might see the best of him more regularly. But I don't think the best of him is close to champions league standard. I watched Diame in the play off final and he looked twice the player Sissoko is.
  3. "It is flattering that a coach like him, a great coach, wants to keep me. But I think he knows that playing in the Championship would be difficult for me. If he doesn't think he's good enough for the championship, I can't see how he thinks he can play in the champions league.
  4. I hope the cunt ends up somewhere like that. But as long as he's not our problem any more I'll be happy.
  5. I've never seen much of McCormack but I just doubt a player who is 30 and never made it in the top flight.
  6. I had a quick search yesterday and it appears Bein show games overseas.
  7. Mirror seem to be reporting today that he's given a positive indication to Rafa that he will stay. I would like to think that he would at least risk til January and see how we are doing by then. At the minute it's not like there appears there's a load of top clubs after him. If there was I could understand him wanting to go. But if it's the likes of Palace who under Pardew have a strong chance of being in the relegation mix again, I don't really see there's a great need for him to move. Apparently we're willing improve his wages too.
  8. I don't think we need to buy young players but if we're spending big money in the championship I'd like to see it spent on someone who could last us more than a season (hoping we only stay a season in the championship).
  9. You can't just think like that though. If we spunk a shit load this season on players who are good enough to get us out of the championship but then not good enough for the premier league and too old to have much of a resale value, where does that leave us? Short of cash and short of quality.
  10. I was thinking about the £10m that was being talked about for McCormack and with the new TV deal next season, that might not be as daft a fee as it once was. Mind you, I see that they're now saying his release fee is £15m. Even in an inflated market that would be too much.
  11. For some reason I just skipped over your post.
  12. Saw The Nice Guys at the weekend. You can tell it's directed by the same guy who did Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as it's got a very similar feel to it. I love KKBB though so that's a positive thing for me. Really enjoyed it, bit comedy, bit action and a bit tit. Couldn't ask for much more. Also watched All This Mayhem. Documentary about a couple of Australian skateboarders who went over to America and were right up there with Tony Hawk at one point. Excellent film. Hawks comes across as a right cock.
  13. Certainly not if you're talking about Anichebe. He's fucking awful. I'd be disappointed if we signed the liked of Bamford or Gayle tbh. They might be able to do a job in the championship but they've shown themselves to not be good enough for the premier league. If we're looking at stop gap players just for the championship then I don't see the point in spending £10m plus. We could surely get an older experienced player to help out the younger strikers we've got for less than that. Someone like Ricky Lambert?
  14. I still can't believe we managed to £12m for him from Villa. I never rated him when he was here. Lacking in pace or crossing ability for a winger. How Villa managed to get over £20m for him is completely beyond me. Mind you I think he looks worse as an international than as a league player. He can be useful for any club without ever being a star. But for England he's hopeless.
  15. Unless you're fifteen. Allegedly.
  16. Aye usually I find him completely uninspiring but last night he was absolutely awful. Certainly didn't look like the fifth best player in Europe.
  17. Worrying glimpse into your record collection there!
  18. Aye I agree about the vibe. If he'd gone in different circumstances I think people might have been pissed off that we were losing players from the squad. But now with Rafa it just feels like we are moving on from him. And given that majority of his time here hasn't been while the club has been particularly positive, it's a good thing to be moving on.
  19. If I have to watch Milner start any more games for England I might stab myself in the eyes.
  20. Not lining up to have a go at him. He was a decent player for us at times and I think his heart was in the right place. But as the thread title says, he's thicker than whale spunk and rarely fit. Time to move on. Colo needs to be the next one out of the door.
  21. Aye I saw that Bran/mad king theory. It looks like complete bollocks to me. As you say he was mad well before the end. I quite like the Bran is Bran The Builder idea mind. The timeline of Bran the builder is a bit all over the place as I understand it so the idea that it was Bran giving instructions to various different people in different times to build the necessary buildings is interesting. It does veer off a bit too much into time travel mind. I'm already worrying that Bran is going so end up like commander Sinclair/Valen on Babylon 5. The night king could be a Stark but he didn't really look like traditional appearance of one. They also seem to be suggesting that being a Stark in someway is needed to be a Warg. But we know that there are other Wargs North of the wall, Bloodraven was a Targaryian Warg and Jojen Reed had greenseer abilities. As far as I can see, Wargs are in no way limited to Starks. It just appears that Bran, Jon and Arya (in the books at least) have some latent abilities.
  22. Really it's the marriage that you need the drugs for not the wedding.
  23. One thing that struck me watching that Euro 96 thing last night was how many leaders we had in the team back then. Adams, Pearce, Ince, Shearer, Spunky, Sheringham, Platt. Look at us now and I really don't see a leader in there at all. That something we're definitely lacking.
