Aye that's a fair point. But it's certainly possible that there was genuinely no issue. A couple of years ago I used to work with a couple of muslims and I was winding one of them up during Ramadan about going out for a pizza during the day and he would take the piss out of me about being pasty and such like. It is possible for colleagues/mates to be able to joke about race with each other without any offence being intended or taken.

Does that make Gazza a racist? While it's clearly a joke based on TC's colour (and in that sense could be considered the very definition of racism), if it was just mates carrying on it could be considered that race wasn't an issue between them and they were both comfortable with that sort of craic with each other. Of course I have no idea of how Cunningham took it. Sacchi's comment seems to have been an attempt to say there are too many foreign players in the youth teams over there which is fair enough but he has certainly worded it in a way that makes him look racist.

Would have made for a much less entertaining show though.

I loved Breaking Bad but I'm not sure I'll ever want to watch it again like I do with Game Of Thrones, The Wire and The Soprano's.

Aye that's pretty much I how I felt too. I know a lot of people really rate it so I keep thinking I should give it another go but I can't work up the energy.

Stayed in at the weekend so I watched a few films that I'd recorded recently. Shallow Grave. Hadn't seen it in years but it's really held up well and I enjoyed it much more than when I first watched it. New Jack City. Complete opposite to Shallow Grave. I used to love this when I was a teenager but it's pretty shite when I watched it again. Glad I've watched Boyz n The Hood and Menace II Society recently or I'd be worried that they would have aged similarly. Sexy Beast. For some reason I'd never watched this before (well Ray Winston would be a good reason to stay clear these days but this was before he turned into such a cunt). Kingsley is outstanding as the terrifying and unnhinged Don Logan. It's worth watching just for him. Crazy Heart. Decent enough. A Shot In The Dark. I don't think I've ever seen any of the Pink Panther films before but of course I've seen loads of clips of Peter Sellers as Clouseau. I don't really think comedies age that well most of the time (Life Of Brian and The Holy Grail being the most obvious exceptions) and I think this is the kind of film that you love if you first saw it when you were young but doesn't offer a great deal now. Sellers is good but overall it was watchable but not great. The Master. I'm never sure what to expect from PT Anderson's films. I really like Boogie Night and Punch Drunk Love (and I think after a couple more go's Inherrent Vice will click with me) but for all the great performances I really didn't get Magnolia or There Will Be Blood. Unfortunately this fell into the later group. PSH was great but I found it difficult to understand what Phoenix was saying half the time. He looked like he was supposed to have suffered a stroke with that half closed mouth. And I just didn't connect with the story at all.

You don't need to go through all the stats. It's clear that there is a tactical deficiency in Englands play in the shorter formats of the game. We are pathetic at death bowling and terrified of the powerplays both with the bat and ball. I've only been into cricket for the last three years or so but even I can see that T20 has changed the way that the shorter versions are approached but England are so backwards in their outlook it's unreal. We have talented players in the squad but no idea how to utilise them.

Cant see him ever being a success at a big club if that's the case then. All the best teams are going to be playing a lot of possession football rather than counter attacking. I think he's good striker but he's still very rough around the edges. I'm not sure whether he's just still a young player learning or if he'll never really be able sharpen up the finer points of his game.

What a depressing thought that is. I'm begning to think it doesn't really matter who the manager is though. The players seem intent to do just enough to get us in a position where we won't go down and then coast to the end of the season.

I think the fact that Harper had him play in his testimonial (when he knew it probably wouldn't be a popular move with Ashley/Lambias) suggests that he thought well of him. This may just be that they were mates but my inclined to believe that there is a respect there from what Harper saw Barton do. Of course this is purely based on my own opinion.

I guess I would say he's a tosser but just one I have a bit of time for, as I for me the things that he has in his favour outweigh the cuntish things against him. I'm not mad on him and I can see his faults though. I certainly agree that the image that people seem to have that he did great things on the pitch for us is misguided to say the least. In the end he got more out of the club than he put in. I suppose I don't feel that it was entirely his fault though (obviously being unable to play while he was locked up was totally his fault).

Aye I felt the same way although not because of anything against Barton but as you say others deserved so much more. But I think that's as much to do with the short memories of a lot of our fans and the lack of respect the club gives to our history these days. With regards to the promotion season, Barton may not have played a great deal but I do think he was important as one of the players (like Harper, Nolan, Butt etc) who stood up to be counted after the relegation. If not for them we most likely wouldn't have acheived promotion.

Highlander Endgame. Fuck knows why after the abominations that were Highlander 2 & 3 I recorded this on Saturday night. Absolute shite.

I thought it would be obvious that it was Williamson that I was referring to as a piss take. I think Sissoko's have fallen off a bit again recently but I certainly rate him and the other two.

Watched the first ep last night and enjoyed it. It'll be interesting to see where it goes.
