  1. Don’t think there really is any away fan pubs in Newcastle. But there’s nowhere that will stop you from coming in just because you’re an away supporter. There’s thousands of parking spaces and hundreds of bars within a mile of the ground.
  2. I've seen it, it's one of the best fakes I think I've ever seen. I was more impressed by the work that had gone into it than I was with the actual content
  3. Is creating anything for the forwards not a problem too? I'm well past defending Joelinton now but our midfield is absolute dog shit that never controls a game or gets the ball to our attackers in decent positions.
  4. The Gentlemen. If you still want anything at all from Guy Ritchie these days, this is probably what you want. Gangster film in the same vein as Lock Stock and Snatch. Not as good as them but still a canny watch. I particularly liked Hugh Grant and Colin Farrell.
  5. Can we not get him signed on for the Toon? Or perhaps get him to front a buy out?
  6. Glad I've been off sick the last couple of days as it allowed me to watch five day test cricket in all its glory. Stokes is an absolute freak. To put in a bowling performance like that at the end on a dead pitch after being amazing in the field and lasing their bowlers all over the park was truly staggering. Good to see performances from Sibley and Pope too.
  7. Really liked the new Star Wars, much better than the last one. Seen Jojo Rabbit the other day and thought it was excellent.
  8. You think? We had 27% possession against an average team. They had numerous chances to score and it's really only Dubravka who prevented that. We only managed a couple of attacks all game. It could have easily went the same way as the Villa game imo.
  9. We could have easily got no points from the last two games and it wouldn't have been undeserved. We can't continue to play this badly and keep winning games, our inspired manager needs to come up with a plan to put the pressure back on the opposition when we're playing the other weaker sides. That said a wins and win and it's difficult to be anything other than very happy with 7 points from the last three games.
  10. Yeah I agree Shelvey doesn't help, I actually think Ki keeps possession better when he's on his game, which unfortunately isn't regularly enough. Getting the ball up to Rondon quickly might have made some sense but what are we doing now? Shelvey doesn't play every game and you can probably look over the last 3 seasons and we'll barely have a game that we had the lions share of possession. So if we have players capable keeping possession why don't we? Like you I think we need a good defensive midfielder.
  11. I actually agree with a lot of what Wilder said. When he says it after his team didn't play to the whistle, something you're told to do at school let alone when you're a professional footballer, and they've thrown away a game, it just sounds like sour grapes. VAR is still shite and will kill the game.
  12. I can't say that I've seen any evidence of our midfield being able to keep the ball mind. If they can why aren't they? Have Rafa's and now Bruces tactics been to purposely give away possession? Sean Longstaff maybe the one who could change this but not alongside Hayden.
  13. Had he good sense not to support them though. RIP. Seems like he was a really good bloke too.
  14. Aye Root doesn't seem to be a very good captain. Some of his field set ups and use of bowlers seems to be way off. It's difficult to imagine who else could replace him though. We've got quite a few players now (the openers, Denly, Pope, Curran, Archer) who are very inexperienced when it comes to international cricket and I'm not sure if any of them have ever captained a team. The leaves Broad who would certainly waste all our DRS appealing his own balls, Stokes or Butler as options. There's not an obvious replacement there.
  15. Was actually a good game for once. They play some decent football and were all over us for the first 30 minutes or so but we dug in a played some good football ourselves after that. Almiron managing to hit ASM was comical. I'm beginning to feel sorry for the fucker now, it's not like he's doing a massive amount wrong when he's getting these chances, most of the time he hits the target (albeit without any great power) and if it had been anyone else they'd have had at least a couple by now. He needs a goal like Clark's, if he'd hit that well the keeper probably would have saved it. And in case I've not mentioned it before, VAR is the worst thing that's happened to football since Hillsborough. The celebrations for Yedlin's goal were muted because everyone was waiting for it to be given offside and then we had to wait for ages in the dark without a clue what was going on behind the scenes. It's without doubt going to ruin the atmosphere at games all over the world. And then as was proved yet again yesterday at Anfield, they can't come up with the right decision regardless. Fucking shite!
  16. It wasn't a particularly bad challenge but he lost control which was why his foot went up at the end caught the player. The way the rule makers have changed things for the worse, that's a sending off now.
  17. I did wonder if that ending was a bit dramatised mind. This is based on the brothers own book so I would have assumed they would have got to that stage before the book was released. Maybe the book doesn't reveal everything the film does though.
  18. The synopsis of it gives a lot more away than I have.
  19. Yeah I think that's the only way they could do it, if they could do it well. I watched Tell Me Who I Am last night on Netflix. Documentary about a bloke who was in a bike accident and couldn't remember anything except his twin brother. His brother told him about their happy family lives but it turns out he lied and there was a dark secret in their past. I was fairly obvious what the basic issue in their past was going to be but when it's actually revealed it's more than I could have imagined. It's a really interesting story and quite horrific. Not exactly a Friday night blockbuster but I'd definitely recommend it.
  20. Seen the new Terminator film last night. Comfortably the best since T2 which isn't a great surprise since its the first one since then that's had Linda Hamilton (who looks fucking old now by the way). Being the best of the rest Terminator film doesn't necessarily mean that much given the quality of the others but this is certainly a decent effort. The guy playing the terminator this time around isn't as menacing as Arnie in the original or Robert Patrick in T2 and I'm not really sure the new technology makes any sense whatsoever or is of much use, but the female leads and Arnie make up for all that. Unfortunately I can't see there ever being a great Terminator film again. I think the technological leap in the terminator in T2 meant that he was so close to invincible that it becomes really difficult to create a story and wow factor that can ever live up to the first two films. Camerons involvement improved this one and if he were to direct again then that might lift it a bit but I doubt that will ever happen.
  21. I thought this felt like a stand alone story personally. The rest of the Batman universe isn't really relevant to it. Bruce Wayne's father is a significant character in this story and there is a scene right near the end that I suppose could lead this on to tying up with Batman but the rest of it could have pretty much taken place within a world completely separate.
  22. I worry we'll be calling him the new Lualua in the future. He's a definitely threat but his decision making looks like it leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully I'm wrong though. I thought Schar was class yesterday. Admittedly he lost Slabhead when he should have scored but he made 3 class interventions to stop certain goals for them.
