1. Just checked on Sky Sports site and they are saying the decision is now up to Dyer!
2. I'd take you up on that one but I don't have time to turn round with my little angel. Nearly ten months and she still wont sleep. On the positive side there nearly always seems to be some foreign football on channel five through the night and 120 minutes on MTV2 is usually worth a watch!
3. What's going on with him? He was supposed to be in the squad for Tuesday and he was nowhere to be seen and now he's not in the squad for Sunday with .com listing him as injured again. Has he had another breakdown that I missed?
4. Deerhoof - The Runners Four Quirky guitar led (mainly) indie pop with some great melodies and the most bizzare (and possibly annoying, I haven't decided yet) singing I've heard in a long time. I think it's going to end up being one of my favourite albums or I absolutely hate it.
5. Good job we won last night. If we had got beat we would have felt right tit's with Chelski going out. Let's hope Manure and Arse stay in Europe as long as possible so they continue to play weakened sides and we could have a right good go at this cup.
6. Pretty much what he said although I would have Taylor on par with Shola and Boumsong wouldn't have got above a four for that disgracefull display against fizzy pop league forwards. I think Rammage and Zog deserve an extra mention too for what were excellent displays as young lads in their first derby (especially with Rammage playing out of position and against the unwashed best player).
7. I couldn't get away with it myslef on first listen but I there was a couple that seemed like they might grow on me. I think I might give it another bash.
8. I've got a few pairs that I wear mainly for dossing about the house but they're good for a night on holiday when you don't fancy wearing trousers.
9. Apparently it's looking good for the little trumpet player to make his second debut for us on Sunday.
10. We could be well fucked without Nobby. Our midfield has been pathetic pretty much since he left in the first place due to the lack of width as we have been unable to provide any decent amuunition for the strikers. Emre will help in that he is actually creative but we will still be far too narrow.
11. Kinky Afro sounds about right.
12. Donna Summer, and aye, shit 46737 Hardly 'I Feel Love' like. Speaking of SAW shite, remember The Reynolds Girls with their classic 'I'd Rather Jack'? Christ on a bike! 46738 can't place that one but I'm sure you are right. 46856 I'd rather Jack than Fleetwood Mac! Classic. Brendan Benson - Feel Like Myself
13. I watched the end of Devils Advocate when I got in on Saturday. Cracking film but would be shite without Pacino.
14. Not doing well on this one. I can only make out Toy Story, Jaws and I think Finding Nemo (although it could equally be A Sharks Tale) and one of the LOTR's films (Two Towers I think).
15. 1. Gone With The Wind 2. Sound Of Music 3. Snow White 4. Spellbound 5. ? 6. ? 7. Jungle Book 8. Lion King 9. ? 10. Grease
16. Love's Unkind. I can't remember who sung it but it is an awfull Stock/Atkin & Waterman type song from the late eighty's/early nineties. Just on the radio and I've got it in my head now. Bastard!
17. I finally finished watching the Aviator last night (watched the first half about two months ago). I actually really enjoyed it (especially the senate hearing scenes) and came out of it thinking that (despite the fact that he was America's first billionare) Howard Hughes was a really unfortunate bloke and considering what he did achive while being badly afflicted with OCD he could well have done so much more if he'd received some treatment.
18. We were unlucky with the referees/linesmans decisions on Saturday, we were unlucky that Bowyer got injured during the game and we were unlucky that that probably our three first choice wide players (Luque, Solano and Dyer) were all out injured. But you cannot blame this misfortune on Faye (who I actually thought played alright considering he's wank) getting a place in the starting 11 or Shola getting a place in the squad (let along being brought on to play wide right). But most of all you cannot blame the misfortune on the totally gutless and disinterested display that the players on the pitch produced. They went out with an attitude of being superior and not needing to earn the right to show their greater level of ability. These things must lay firmly at the feet of the manager. Quite clearly we are not a team in any way shape or form. Teams like Wigan and Portsmouth (even when we play them away from home) should not be able to cope with the players we have but they are being incompetantly managed and coached. We will get better when we get some players back (particularly when we have Solano providing some width) but that will only hide the managers inadequacy for so long. The simple fact is that he's a shite manager and we will continue to fall further and further behind the top teams as long as we stick with him.
19. I actually preferred AI to most of Kubrick's flicks. I've seen Spartacus, The Killing, 2001, Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining and Part (far too much) of Barry Lyndon and the only ones I would care to watch again are the first two. I wouldn't mind seeing Paths Of Glory and I have Dr Stragelove to watch when I get a minute but other then that I couldn't care less about him. I might watch Eyes Wide Shut for soft core porn purposes mind you
20. I would say that we have a squad of players cabable of getting a European place (even a champions league place) given anywhere near the amount of luck (both with injuries and in general) that we got in previous seasons. I would say the only position that our squad is any weaker than it was is up front where we lost two quality players and only brought one in (added to the fact that Shearer is pretty much on his last legs). But our first choice strike force is better than we have had at least since the Shearer/Ferdinand partnership. The additions of Parker, Emre, Luque and Solano are a vast improvement on Butt, Ambrose, Jenas and Robert imo. And our defence has to benefit from getting rid of O'Brien and (imo) Hughes. When we finished 3rd we didn't play as well as the season before but we carried more luck. When we finished 5th we were almost as bad as we were last season but we carried a hell of a lot of luck. Since Souness arrived we have not carried any luck at all this has hampered his chances of doing anything positive with the team. Like I said I don't want to sound like this is me defending him because I think it is just a disguise for his inadequacy as a manager. But I can't slag him off for cursing our luck because it's not an excuse he's spot on!
21. Started watching that myself but after six months of getting up through the night to feed a baby there was no chance of me staying up to see it through. Despite the brilliance of Brando and Duvall I still prefer Platoon. And I can't really get away with Full Metal Jacket at all. It starts off well and Vincent D'Nofrio and R Lee Emry are superb. But after the training section finishes it seemed to lack direction for me. But then I find that with nearly all of Kubirck's films.
