A step in the right direction, a proven international c.b. which also means that Taylor cant expect to walk/stay in the side if/when he fucks up(which we all know he will) If we can get a full back, a playmaker(which is a must) and a proven striker who can fit in when Viduka is injured/off form then I will be a touch more optimistic. I think Davies isnt a bad choice as someone who can do what Owen/Oba cant ie hold the ball up/batter defenders He'd get fucking slaughtered by the fans imo. If MA was serious about us being able to challenge the top four then he would have sanctioned moves/paid wages of 5 or 6 top notch players plus added 3/4 squad players, which I think Gutherie/Bassoung will be. I hope Jonas turns out to be more than that and Collocini,by reputation, should also be.Although we have signed a few players they are far from the kind of players we should be signing if he is serious about even getting into Europe I dont think MA wants to put the money in to that extent. IF the takeover talks are true AND they HAVE the funds to put in then I say it`s a good thing all round. Ashley cleared the debt & got shut of Fat Fred, he will make a few quid out of the deal KK will get the funds to sign the kind of players that we want to see at NUFC Spurs are going in the direction we should be, who on here can seriously say that Bentley/Modric/Woodgate would not have been welcomed here It's not that clear cut. For a start we're at least a couple of seasons behind Spurs. Modric and Woodgate chose them over us. I think it's wrong to assume that's the fault of the chairman. And since you chose to compare us to Spurs, how can you have a go at a chairman who appears to be following their model in relation to building the club up? Even down to reducing the wage bill and so on. Spurs are at a different development stage to us which is why they are buying a different calibre of player. So Ashley gets his wish, reduces the wage bill, we sign average players,Owen leaves for free next season,we have another nothing season and you will be happy? Who's told you that? Plain to see really mate. Look at the signings so far, cutting wages etc. If MA was serious we would have signed 5 or 6 top players plus a few squad players, we have one of the samllest squads in the league and you dont push the big boys with small squad/average players. We are definately better off than we were financialy but you cant tell me you are not dissapointed with our signings under MA. With the exception of Beye the rest have proved average/below par (Not including Jonas in that)

Hope its true as clearly Ashley isnt going to spend the kind of money that will allow us to push the top four. An owner that isnt bothered about making money from the club is a big plus

Complete shower of shite. Yeah Owen, & Vid missing up front but that will be the case sometimes this season given their injury records. If we pencil in some of the others who were missing today it still doesnt instill much optimism. We are crying out for a creative midfielder and Butt is on his last legs. Imagine we put out a team like that against ANY team in the prem we will get turned over I know its pre-season and the games dont mean anything but we just look so poor. If we were in a position to get shot/sack him then I wouldnt mind seeing the back of him, unfortunately we dont have many options and he is proberbly the best we have in the centre midfield role so looks like we are stuck with him I hope he see`s this a chance to redeem himself and he proves it on the pitch

I think given his record in front of goal he should really SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!! I would put Stroller in ahead of him and thats sayin something. He should be used as a makeweight in a transfer deal, that is if any team would want a "striker" who managed a tally of 0 last season
