  1. They would make an example of us. We have seen how the ”big“ ones react to feel threatened. Us committing even the tiniest infringement of FFP would see us thrown a whole library at us. Us working our way up by sticking to the rules will be the biggest insult.
  2. Used to write for the Guardian, now for the Athletic, hosts the beer and honey podcast and is author of a biography of Klopp.
  3. It would surprise me a lot and make me weary about the fickleness of Ashworth and the owners. The last four weeks have been disappointing but shouldn’t determine Howe‘s future judging on the things he has achieved and the mitigating factors.
  4. They do still profit from selling Grealish and getting rid of Gerrard. They can invest in players as well as in a good manager. They will probably struggle once they are restricted by ffp as well.
  5. It does prove that FFP rules are not just there to stop free spending but also to maintain the status quo. Our squad is still lacking depth due to years of underinvestment. We won’t be able to sign anyone notable in January.
  6. Herewith I will retire from starting match threads. Thank you very much you cunts
  7. We have shown more variations of set pieces in the last four weeks than some clubs do in a decade tbh. We had quite a few efforts where we did pass it around instead of just whipping them in like all clubs do about 99 times out of 100. We did create some decent efforts either way by the way. I am really not sure if I watch different games these days.
  8. We have been playing against clubs fighting for survival recently and lost. Obviously we should have beaten those teams on paper, but that’s not how football does work. We faced teams who had nothing to lose who took their opportunities and made their best of us not being sg our best mentality and physically. I really can’t get my head around how a fair number of fans act like spoilt brats after a couple of disappointing results and the first serious spell of bad results for nearly two years. The hypocrisy of some of them is hilarious. They are no better than fans from other ”top“ clubs who do feel entitled to win against “small teams“.
  9. They will only allowed to offer deals reparations fair market value, in the case of “United” it does mean any sum less than a trillion is fine.
  10. Selling Wood for just 15m only for him to score against us. We probably got robbed after all…
  11. Wood scoring a hat trick at SJP when he couldn’t hit a barn door when playing for us is a prime example what motivation and a gain in confidence can do.
  12. Things were ok against Everton for nearly 80 minutes when Gordon should have put us in front only for stupid mistakes costing us the game. We did well against Milan until lack of experience and going for a glorious winner did cost us. We should have been two goals up. We held on well away against a full strength Chelsea until getting punished in injury time. The games against Bournemouth and Luton were awful almost from start to finish. Today was awful as well although we shouldn’t have conceded just before half time. We lost against team thriving on motivation and make the best from us being exhausted. Of course there need to be lessons learned and it would be foolish to pretend that everything is ok. But even though results have been horrible the outlook isn’t as dramatic as some people make out.
  13. I don’t think that we will be able to do a lot in the transfer market money wise because of financial restrictions. We have already stretched our budget. We can do with one or two shrewd loans but that will probably be it. It will be more important to get some players back especially Barnes and Murphy to give us different options up front and rest or demote players like Gordon and Almiron.
  14. The last two months show it’s been hit and miss with a totally depleted squad.
  15. We only had three horrible weeks since trashing ManH and looking awesome. we played most of our games away from home and could or should have got something from our games against Milan and Chelsea as well. There have been some very poor performances obviously but dome people are way too fickle for my liking tbh
  16. Definitely. First half was ok but even then you could see that it could become an edgy affair. We should have scored a second to settle but it was typical that the lack of confidence and awareness of Almiron in front of goal was the begin of the downfall. We could to with an extended break at the moment. Best thing of playing Liverpool now is that we can’t expect to get anything out of the game than a tonking. Maybe being clear underdogs does work to motivate players. I am not sure if I can cope with watching it though.
  17. Fucking hell. We are all over the place mental wise. I just hope people calm the fuck down and do not start to question what we have achieved over the last couple of years. We are not shite but just nit in the right frame if mind at the moment. As I said before we might gave to consider this season to be a write off.
  18. I would still bring on big Joe because we di really need some presence in midfield.
