  1. His hair will certainly get tested on a cold rainy night...
  2. Awful. Everything.nothing more to say about the game. Idiotic home fans were more interested to get opposition fans chucked out of the home section than to follow the match. Ridiculous scenes.
  3. Fish is so popular that his inbox is full...
  4. I'll be there too. Knowing my luck with choosing matches to attend it's going to be a horrific evening. Sorry.
  5. The article by the express is surprisingly correct tbh. If you look at the increase in crimes committed by refugees you have to take into account that a huge number of these crimes are related to the status of refugees, e. g. crossing the border illegally, not leaving the country or using fake documents. A lot of the other crimes are minor offences and crimes where the victims are refugees as well. Especially if you look at more serious offences like gbh or murder cases nearly all victims are refugees as well. From a prosecutor's point of view (and that is what I do, mostly cases of capital crimes and robbery) immigrants do not pose a serious threat to people and our society. It's something different with terrorists. Even though the majority of recent events are not linked with terrorism it's totally clear that there is an increased threat of a major terrorist attack. But this threat has been there for several years and it's probably just a mix of luck and good investigation that most attempts in recent years failed (like a bomb discovered in cologne's train station) or got discovered in time (the so called Sauerland group). I am under no illusion that something serious will happen rather sooner than later. I still do not feel threatened by 99.99% of refugees who came here though.
  6. Hold on, are you deliberately trying to misinterpret things? sexual offences like those committed in Cologne in huge numbers at New Year's Eve (known as taharrush games) happened all over Germany. but the figures in Cologne are much higher than in the rest of Germany combined. Neither were there enough police men right from the start and the an option to increase staff wasn't taken. They also didn't block a bridge and restrict access to a bridge which would have reduced the number of people. With different tactics it is very likely that their would have been less offences and an increased possibility to identify criminals during investigations, something that has been proven to be next to impossible. As for the remark regarding unreported crimes not being shown in a statistic. That's a bit of a moot point isn't it? Of course there is a unknown figure of crimes that do not get reported for different reasons. But it would be a rather dubious statistic using fictional numbers...
  7. Sorry, can't beat that. I just bring people into jail and tell coppers what to do...
  8. According the official data the number of registered sex offences went down from 2014 to 2015 http://www.bka.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/Publikationen/PolizeilicheKriminalstatistik/2015/pks2015FlyerDeutsch,templateId=raw,property=publicationFile.pdf/pks2015FlyerDeutsch.pdf New Year's Eve was extraordinary as things went out of hand in Cologne but that was also very much down to poor police tactics. There have been some serious problems with criminals from Northern Africa for some time (who are to a great extent responsible for the latest cases who made it into the press) but that has little to do with refugees coming from Syria. The main problem is to get rid of them as they have no passports and claim they come from countries that don't take them back.
  9. Simon Kuper does write rather good football books, too.
  10. Stupid defending for both goals. First should never been put out for a corner, second was ridiculous
  11. Another good read is "Storm of Steel " by Ernst Jünger as a piece of social realism and a contrast to the critical work from Remarque.
  12. Studies like this? http://www.oecd.org/health/health-at-a-glance-19991312.htm http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/nhs-uk-now-has-one-of-the-worst-healthcare-systems-in-the-developed-world-according-to-oecd-report-a6721401.html The British NHS is certainly a great institution and in principle a better and fairer system than our system of different health insurances. It probably just isn't looked well after.
  13. No, it's just about you saying things that are incorrect to paint a wrong picture about Germany.
  14. While here the NHS is seen as rather poor quality and inefficient.
  15. Of course they are. But e. g. if you want a single or double bed room in hospital you would have to pay yourself - unless it is covered by an insurance.
  16. He can under the same preconditions as Germans can do. Regulations are a bit more strict than British are which does make it more difficult, but that is regardless of your nationality.
  17. Health system in Germany is different as it is traditionally insurance based. But EU foreigners do have the right of health care via the European health card (tourists) or compulsory access to the private or statutory health insurances when they work here. Normally all your costs will be covered unless you want special (and not necessary) treatment. I have never paid a penny extra tbh. There isn't any rule about you having to know the German language. But of course, I guess in most jobs you won't get far without being able to speak German in Germany. But what do you expect? How far do you get in England without being able to speak English? Add to it that in a lot of business and tech companies English is the predominant language even here.
  18. Alexander Lukashenko, Nursultan Nazarbaev and the pope are seething.
  19. "They have done fantastically..." Straight from the McLaren school of post match nonsense.
  20. She is still trying to park the car she bought from her expenses... https://youtu.be/9aJIYlkfneg
