Let me guess: ITK from F365? What happened to the Mutu deal...

I was away over the weekend and just read it. Celebrations of joy in the Isegrim household. Good riddance.

Well, leaving aside the gossip stories that they are about to sign a different player every day, they have in fact only signed one player - with whom Newcastle were discussing terms as well. Are they really moving so much faster? Having said this they probably will now make a multi-signing announcement at a press conference at 3pm...
-
So N-O is dying a death? Probably wasn't snobby and perpetual enough...
-
He probably will spit at them.

Huge article about Gomez and the likeliness of a big summer transfer in my newspaper today. http://www.sueddeutsche.de/sport/weltfussb...40/article.html The main sentence is: The author might be wrong about the interest from Newcastle, but putting the club in line with the likes of Getafe and Udine tells it own story about Newcastle's reputation at the moment imho.
-
How and why he got the job is totally irrelavant in regard to his sacking, isn't it.
-
I hope they sign the spitting Dutchman, makes them even more loathsome than they already are.
-
Tbf to Matt, he was too obsessed with hating the Ameobis, Drogbas et al that you have to excuse him for not noting the tw*atness of someone like Terry.
-
Mass brawl between both sets of players and the teams getting banned from European football will do it for me.

So Fop won't post here for some time then...

I guess they are waiting on the outcome of the Dabo case. Not just because they will most likely have covered there ground contractually in this regard, but also as it will make a big difference of how long Barton actually is locked up. This is pure speculation though.

I reckon by the time anyone bids on him we'd have paid him in wages what we manage to get back on a fee. Could be, do we definitely still have to pay him while he's in jail? I guess not. Don't know about English law in these cases though. I'd cancel his contract and offer him a new one for the time when he is coming back - but vastly cut down his wages. If he really is remorseful and interested in getting his career back on track then he will accept.

Clearly you've been reading a great deal on the subject. ? 'Burma', nein? Myanmar.

Chopra Do me a favour. You're using the U21 England team as an example of how good a player is, well we all know how well regarded Chopra was for the exact same team. Kind makes your point moot. Did Chopra ever even player for the U-21s? The reason though why players have so many caps for said team is that they haven't progressed enough to make the step up. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/shared/bsp/hi...opra_225427.stm He did, once, sorry my mistake. It was Shola that played a lot of games for the U21 England team. Not that it changes my point. Though, it was funny when Ameobi talked about his chances to make the English world cup squad...

What else from being the brother of the murderer does connect him to this case though? So why did he have to talk about it anyway? They were talking about his public image. he was moaning on about the affect the case had on him without a second thought for the affect it had on the family of the poor fella who god his head staved in. So he was basically just staying on topic and answered the question. What differences would have his condolences made to the family of the poor fella? Barton deserves the stick he gets (and his jail term) for his own actions. That way he had repeatedly to justify himself for the actions of his brother was indeed totally out of order and was a good example for the celebrity fixation of the tabloid shame and blame culture. Describing it as "guilty by association" sounds about right for me. Btw, I just wanted to day how really sorry I am for all those poor people in China and Birma.

I feel the complete opposite. I reckon the job requires an inside knowledge of how the football world works tbh. I had hoped that the initial rumours of David Dein coming on board were true - however, they proved not. I agree there. By his own admission he knows very little about the game and even less about being a club chairman. What knowledge of the game is actually required for a chairman?

Wind your neck in man, he looks to me as if he's come with good intentions. Not sure about this, his first thread was a definite attempt of wummery to get some reactions he then can use at some Spurs board. I am not too sure about this one either...

Wasn't it quite clear from the beginning that Mort was the man to oversee the changes after the takeover and would later go back to his old position? I don't know when this will be, but seeing this coming from the Daily Lie then Mort will probably be here for another while... Also, Freshfields are Morts employees?

It depends of our list of targets and its order, doesn't it. If there are other players who are higher on the wishlist then missing out on other players is bound to happen. But it's nonsense to start to switch to panik mode when it's not even June... I agree with parky that you have to move quickly when the good players are available....... < sigh > will they learn ? And miss out on better players who they (Keegan) want to target first? Zarate looks a talented player but not a must buy player to me. We will know if the board still have to learn when the transfer dealing really can be described as a failure, which is still far too early (not for you obviously...). maybe. See Icegrim, I just think that - while applying standards - he's better than what we have, and looks a good prospect. So we should get him. I'm just not too concerned about the money [its not as if he's going to cost 30m quid or anything] because if someone better DOES come along, then buy him as well. Then ship someobody out of the club ie Emre for instance. It is possible that we could miss out or not get bigger targets too, then we would have nobody. Although that would be worrying and disappointing. But it's not about who you or I would like to sign, but who the manager wants. And iirc it was you (or maybe it was HTL?) who in these cases, i.e. missing out on a player, used to say that it's not possible to sign every player on the planet. And it was definitely you who used to moan about people who complained about lack of transfers and late transfers when the transfer deadline loomed, saying that it doesn't matter when but who we sign. So I think especially for you it should be a case of wait and see who Keegan brings in and if he got the necessary backing of the board for the players he wanted to bring in. If we then don't have a squad capable of competing in the league for a higher league position then you'll have every right to moan. Though the day to judge this should be September 1st, maybe already early August, but definitely not May 20th.
