  1. Sofa companies are notorious for that. Especially the larger firms. Cant wait for tonight! Sitting on the floor looking at the wall Have friends round for dinner, tell them it's the Japanese minimalist look. It will have to be minimalist food too cos thje fridge isnt coming til tomorrow Feng Shui & Sushi tbh
  2. When Koeman wiped his arse with a German shirt in 1988 it was even worse. But I am actually quite a fan of Dutch football. So am I. I actually swapped allegiances during that 1990 game though. Temporarily, obviously One of my favourite games. It had everything. I changed my opinion about Klinsmann who was just terrific. But Johnny is right, I can't stand Rijkhard since then. Every time I see him he looks to me as if he is to start spitting the next moment.

  4. Good to see the lama leaving, it does make Barca a nicer club again.
  5. I think he is one we could affort as a squad player as we will hardly attract top class player to sit on the bench for us.
  6. Sorry to hear that. Good luck with the run.
  7. I thank you. But honest how many chances would we get. He is a bloke that had too much too young and blew it. He is human so deserves help but no special help IMO How is it more "special help" than any other person would be getting? There are people and institutions who are connected to him who I think have a human resonsibility to take care and probably the chances to do so. That's not in any kind different to what I would expect from any ordinary people and institutions and how I would act and have acted when it comes to people I am connected with. I don't care how many chances he had and blew. As long as someone is in a state where he needs help he should get help. Simple as.
  8. Of course you can't just tell him to turn up the next day to work and everything is okay. He's seriously mentally and physically ill, so the first thing is to cure him. Getting him to live a normal life can only be the second step. Though I think the club should seriously look into taking things into its hand and show some social responsibility.
  9. Which imho would be a brilliant idea as it looks like Gazza needs some occupation for his life not being kind of senseless. The situation is probably kind of comparable with what happened to Gerd Müller here in Germany who was close to ruining is life by alcoholism before being saved by Bayern who employed him first to work as a youth team coach and no as an assistant of the reserve team.
  10. Even with fixed book prices in Germany and living in a town that is literally plastered with book shops I turn to order books online as it is often much more comfortable to avoid the hassle of going into shops. I am not happy with it as the result can only be that German town centres are starting to look more and more as their English equivalents with soulless franchises dominating the scene.
  11. Imho this is the most refreshing thing, not only in contrast to Fat Sam's reign, but also to the preceding incompetents. The team is rarely resorting to just kick the ball up front in hope it might actually reach a team mate, but to bring it up front in form of a passing game and by working as a collective. If we can get a few players in who are better passers of the ball it only can get better.
  12. The fact you once had a part time job in HMV doesnt really make you any more qualified to give business start up advice tbh Should change his name to patronising tbh Sorry, but I own the copyright on that tbh.
  13. As I said before, 25th is too early for me. The first two weeks in August I am sailing in the channel but after that I'll be in northern England. So something around the 23rd would be brilliant for me, otherwise I'd settle for a normal pissup.

    Wine tasting

I don't think there is a better way to learn about wine than in form of a well organised tasting. If you can directly compare different quality of wines and vintages then you quite quickly realise the broad range of wine and what it can offer. It should be a good laugh anyway.
  15. Could be worse, we could be linked with signing such fantastic freebies as Philipp Degen...

Cheers, it will be brilliant. We are going by train and knowing us we probably won't make it past the first change...

    Friday!

Don't you mean hoff? Cracked me up did that! It's sort of a stag do for a friend (Irish, Liverpool supporter of course). He'll get a shirt with the Hoff's face and "You'll never puke alone" on it...

  19. Probably met Deco while they were at the airport...
  20. Exactly my feeling. Those news reports today are nothing else than the translations from the (very dodgy) Croatian news reports anyway. The Malmaison was mentioned to me, and this was not mentioned in any of the Croatian press reports, yet is reported in the Telegraph. This is for real. Watch this space as a leading Tyneside "hack" would say. Fair enough if it comes true. I definitely wouldn't be against it, but I'll remain very sceptical until I see a picture of Jimbo's TV confirming the transfer. http://www.sportal.hr/vld/sportal/nogomet/...E483727DD8D0B.2 Ask your pal what Maric is babbling on about it. He says something about Gullit being a cunt, and us being the 5th biggest club in England, as well as something about the toon army? Peter Harrison's name is mentioned too It got already roughly translated on N-O from a Croatian bloke: Mamic brothers were in Newcastle the day before yesterday and returned to Zagreb on the same day. They returned with an unfinished task because they couldn't agree on Modric's wages with Peter Harrison, one of the club's managers. Mamic brothers did agree a fee (over 20m apparently), but Newcastle had prepared only 1.2m per year basic wage and Dinamo officials couldn't accept that. Silvio Maric is apparently delighted that Modric could join his former club, and he's quoted saying: "If Keegan has insisted on him, it means there's a red carpet rolled out for Luka in Newcastle. He'll surely be a star and automatically a starter in their team." Reporter then confirms that Gullit had also insisted on bringing Maric when he was in charge here. Maric replies: "Yes, it was an honor and an achievement, because Newcastle are a big club". Big enough for Luka? Rumors say Barca, Chelsea, Real Madrid are all interested? "They are not that big but in England they are amongst the biggest, and richest. They are creating a new team, and will go into the new season with high ambitions. Luka doesn't have to be worried, Newcastle will again be strong and powerful. What's life like in Newcastle? "Bla bla, i had a great time, etc" What about Newcastle supporters? "Best in England! Toon army is incredibly devoted to the club and go on every away games in big numbers (5-6k). It's fascinating, with those kind of supporters you just have to enjoy playing football". Edit: Ok, Santana was quicker.
