  1. We were posting at the same time so definitely a case of great minds. If there's washing that needs doing I love getting a load or two done (and preferably out on the line) and (or otherwise) catching up with a few hours TV and it still being well before 9am. I don't know if it's just how I've taught myself to be as I'm rubbish at sleeping anyway, meaning there is no enjoyment in attempting a lie-in or a nap, but it certainly feels like I get the most possible out of the day.
  2. I agree on lie-ins. I hate anything past 8am on a weekend, such a waste of the day. Not that I ever get remotely close to 8am like, it's usually 4.30-6.30.
  3. Buffet at work so: Quiche (bacon & mushroom/salmon & broccoli) Cheese pie Salad Coleslaw New potatoes Doritos Sausage roll Mini sausages Pork pie Falafel ball Cake later on when that's digested a bit.
  4. This thread has given me horrible flashbacks to studying Lord of the fucking Flies for GCSE. After the first read I thought it was an alright story, couldn't bear to even think about it by the time we'd completely dissected it. Horrendous. Macbeth was just about bearable. However all the talk of porn mags in backpacks did also remind me of when I went with a friend to hand in his A-Level Biology coursework and as he pulled it out of his bag a copy of Gay Times magazine also flew out and skidded across the desk. Between his red face and the teacher's I nearly got sunburn.
  5. Great North Run tomorrow. I'm bored, I just want tonight out of the way so I can get going.
  6. I can only agree in urging people to get help. I lost a stepsister to suicide and a few acquaintances too. Please reach out for help before you take that final step.
  7. I think I'd give it a go. I think I'd try and start with someone I didn't know very well though... Then again I'm weak as piss so I'd probably be one of the first ones to die anyway. I'm afraid there's not a great deal of meat on my bones for the survivors.
  8. I'd love to get a dog but it's just not practical with the hours we work as we are both out for a lot of the day and don't live near work. We'd need dog walkers in every day and I'm of the opinion that if it's our dog, we should be the ones looking after it. When I win the lottery though... I'll probably screw all my dreams of travelling the world by immediately getting a puppy.
  9. Aye, that's who I listen to on Absolute Radio now. He's pretty good IMO.
  10. I've been listening to the Absolute Radio breakfast show (via Classic Rock on weekdays and 90s on weekends ) for the last few years. I always liked Moyles' breakfast show but I don't think I fancy changing again just now. Might give it a listen on a couple of days just to see how he gets on.

    Gigs 2024

I've hardly been to anything this year. All I've got booked is Ride in October and the Prodigy in November.
  12. My sister ruined that for me just to be a cow. I still watched it, but I'd love to know what I would've thought if I hadn't known what happened. I've just about forgiven her.
  13. Yeah it's definitely a retarded spelling. Thankfully this is on Kindle so I don't have to look at the cover every time I pick it up.
  14. Cop Town by Karin Slaughter. I like nearly everything I've read by her, some very good crime stories.
  15. Oh shit yeah, I need to cut and dye my hair as well.
  16. The Grainger Market is quality. I even love just walking through on a morning on the way to work when the greengrocers and butchers are just setting up.
  17. I bought the cardigan, not the woman, and also some shorts.
  18. Anyone else's local pub/club still have a leek show? Ours is this weekend.
  19. Having a few nights in Edinburgh in September just for something to look forward to. I've been loads but not recently so any recommendations for eating/drinking are welcome.
  20. I'm a proper loser during the week, never go out anywhere after work/gym so end up getting through loads of TV. Hardly watch owt over the weekend in comparison.
  21. First regular underage drinking venue was the Black Bull at Benton with basically the entire Sixth Form all going out without fail every Friday night and starting in there. We used to hide round in the alcove at the front and send the two oldest looking people to the bar every single round. What people must've thought. We thought we were mint at the time.
  22. The rage in the memory displaced the apostrophe.
