  1. I couldn't imagine a worse way to celebrate my birthday than with a surprise party. I wouldn't even want a party that I'd been involved in planning.
  2. Aye it boils my piss. "What you going as for Halloween?" Bore off.

    Hey kids.

Woke up at 5am as usual but at least I can console myself with the fact that my body thought it was 6. Bloody long morning already....
  4. At my heaviest since June 2012. The whole second half of this year has been a nightmare, I've had several difficult family problems and haven't been able to prioritise eating well/exercise. My willpower seems to be low too, any offer of nice food or drinks and I'm all over it at the minute. It's actually only about 4lbs difference which I know is nowt but it's annoying that I can see my weight creeping up but keep getting distracted when I try and do something about it. Need my game face on.

Looks amazing. My team leader at work makes a Baileys cheesecake which always looks and tastes great. She always adds a LOT of extra Baileys compared to what the recipe asks for mind.
  6. 40p from a pub the other day, I've read a lot of his books but not this one. Seems decent so far.
  7. I've only been to the cinema twice this year (once in New York, once in Newcastle) and that was the trailer both times. I still don't fancy seeing it.
  8. Is it awful that I preferred it when it was The Lane? £1.50 double vodka, interesting local specimens and a toilet that wasn't even plumbed in which "ladies" still used. Great days drinking there after work.
  9. I considered getting something delivered to work (NE1) just to try it out, but going out to fetch some bait is about the highlight of my day as it is. Usually I'm a loser who brings a sandwich anyway.
  10. It's a Crown place now, same as the Goose. It's well placed for a half hour rest when I walk along to the coast, but I've never fancied eating there.
  11. All the best people live in Killingworth. Apart from when it was rumoured that Gary Glitter had been housed here.
  12. I'm surprised I liked it actually, it didn't sound like something I'd usually go for. I've forced myself to broaden my horizons though since I discovered Peaky Blinders was actually really good when I assumed from the description that I would hate it.
  13. Started Narcos the other day. I enjoyed the first episode, it definitely made me want to watch more. Wanted to finish Sons of Anarchy S2 first though, which we did last night, so should get through some more Narcos this weekend. Still got the last couple episodes of This Is England to watch too, I'm about 3 behind on Masterchef Australia and I haven't seen the most recent Only Connect yet either. Loads of catching up to do.
  14. Recently I've watched: Everest. Thought it was good, although I admit I've read and enjoyed several books about the incident and have a bit of a fascination with Everest in general. It was pretty accurate to the story as I know it, apart from a couple of minor things. I don't think seeing it in 3D would've added anything, so I didn't bother. It did annoy me a bit that it was only the second time this year I've been to the cinema (first was in America in June) and two of the trailers were the same. All This Mayhem. Documentary type thing on Netflix about two skateboarding brothers who get hooked on drugs. I added it to my list a while back when I heard a good review but didn't think it was my cup of tea as I've no interest in skateboarding. Turned out to be one of the best things I've seen in ages, would highly recommend watching it.

    Gout

I'm a right nag when it comes to water like. Always trying to encourage people to drink more of it since I drink absolutely loads of the stuff and love it. I'm always amazed at people who don't drink any water at all, like people from work who have 2-3 cups of tea a day and that's it for their fluid intake, I'd feel like I was dying of dehydration after a few hours. I have no issue with cordial/squash if that helps since I like deliciously fruity flavoured things too... as long as it's sugar free. My dad gets gout but that's definitely red wine.

That's far better than I would've managed like!
  17. I keep wondering if I should join one of these 24 hour gyms (for the same early-waking reason as Gemmill) but I've pretty much got a good routine going at a gym convenient to go to after work so I don't think I'll mess with that. It's just mildly frustrating when I want to get in sharpish on a weekend and it doesn't open until 9.
  18. Fully agreed. I read some of it on Sunday while wearing a denim jacket and a Rush t-shirt and I'm fairly certain a large part of me died at that moment.

Get in. My team leader brought in a homemade Baileys cheesecake yesterday. It was amazing, but she doesn't seem to be going for our suggestion that she should bring in something every Monday from now on...
  20. Stupid late kick off, I'll still be able to see this after the dizzy heights of West Allotment Celtic v Dunston UTS.
  21. Never been a Pratchett fan but I promised myself I'd give him another try. I read a couple of his books years ago and wasn't into them. I'm reading Guards! Guards! at the minute and while it's not awful I'm just not really into it.

    Gigs 2024

I'm tempted if there are still tickets. When I heard about it I had loads of other stuff to pay for but I still quite fancy it.
