  1. Yes but LM, would you say that Shearer replaced Cole? Or Tino? Or Ferdinand? Cole was our main forward (with Beardsley feeding him), who in your opinion was the player that was the master plan to replace Cole?
  2. If that was indeed the case then why did they purchase Papiss Cisse for 9M pounds? That turned out to be the most expensive piece of business by an English club in that window, and we were in no danger of being relegated at the time. There's a strong element of cross promotion involved, but apart from the visual eyesore I don't think it has a large bearing on the footballing operations. so where is the other 25m quid ? After the first transfer window in 5 years where we bought a decent player and sold nobody, lets see what happens in the summer and see if we see the rest of that cash and nobody is sold, to reinforce your utter delusion. ps Bolton also bought Anelka for 8m quid when they were [temporarily] in the UEFA Cup. pps. I don't care about the advertising either, if the team is doing well and the owner backs his managers, but it DOES emphasise the points I've made that the 2 forum clowns have said are "rubbish". LM, in the past FFS and the Halls took million out of this club and used it to feed their other business (I assume you know about the fleet of cars etc). But you know what? I dont give a fuck because the Halls had us doing well in the league which is what matters. They sold players I didnt want to see go (Ferdinand, Hamman, Domi, Robert, Ginola, Tino, Woodgate etc) in many case the player didnt want to leave (Ferdinand) and in many they did want to leave for "bigger and better" (Hamman, Woodgate) and in some it was just the manager who didnt want the player. Again, while pissed of at the time I didnt mind in the end because what mattered was that we progressed. Ok, until we didnt. The latter years of the Halls the wheels started to come off, but overall what happened on the pitch was positive so we ignored the off the field stuff (though some did rumble about it). To me, same applied here. All sorts of shite he does off the pitch. Yes I was pissed off at selling AC but now I look back and think "fair enough". Remember, Halls sold Cole. Should we not have kept him and added? They asked us to be patient and see what followed. It worked on the pitch in the end so everyone was happy. For all I hate MA and the way he has abused the name of the club, it is difficult to not see the sense in the way the finances have been restructured. Yes I hate the Sports Direct tat, but when we are doing well on the pitch who cares? Yes I hate the fact we sold AC, but look what AC is doing now and look as Cisse alone never mind the rest of the players that came in. Fact is, when MA came in he took us backwards. but now I feel we are in a place further ahead than when he took over. But he's still a cunt, but then so was FFS.
  3. who said I haven't enjoyed it ? It's very good, for a club with aspirations to simply survive in the top flight, make a profit by selling players if necessary, and promote a worldwide Sports Company as such. Excellent in fact. Sorry, must have missed your positive or happy posts. Miserable fucker
  4. LM, I am baffled, absolutely at a loss for words. Forget all of the history shite and crystal ball stuff for a moment. We've just beat Liverpool two nowt. We're comfortably in 6th. I dont see that changing so I think its pretty safe to say we will finish 6th. That would be our best finish since 2004. We might (though I am actually doubfull as I think Everton will beat Liverpool) get in to Europe through it. Everyone has had their say about what may or may not happen. we've all (yes, you as well) been right a bit and wrong a bit. But here we are. How the fuck can you not be happy? you go to games, surely you must be enjoying it?
  5. NUFC Summer Activity thread? Seriously, if the summer activity is going to be reading this fucking bollocks every day I'm going to test my new claw hammer on my router.
  6. Andy Carroll has said sorry to Kenny Dalglish for storming off the pitch and straight down the tunnel following his substitution at Newcastle, Carroll said "i was aiming for the bench"!!!!
  7. Talk Sport interview with Pars this morning http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/120402/exclusive-pardew-carroll-move-proves-grass-isnt-always-greener-168573
  8. And in complete contrast to Dalglish, who timed his substitution of Carroll perfectly...for us. I was surprised KD took AC off when he did. He must gave known what would happen etc. No wait, I'm not surprised...
  9. Sounds good to me. Prob nothing I can do to assist but if there is let me know.
  10. That's like some kind of scary fish

    Relegation

We can but wish. Sadly I think they'll be fine. Mainly due to other teams not bridging that gap.
  12. Tell you what like, with the way Everton are going atm they will beat Liverpool in the FA Cup meaning we need to finish an unlikely 5th.
  13. Big Fat Sam and his Big Massive Heed
  14. He's an arse. As for that local election, "pro-Iraq pro-Palestine bloke in Bradford favouritism shocker"
  15. We usually go 442 at home but I'd prefer us to stick to last weeks 433. I expect him to play Bellamy to get at our back 4. That said, if they play Gerrard then he can put good balls in for AC who could be trouble. Be some goals in this I reckon. They are poor at the back and if we click like we did last week should make for a canny game. If we do go 433 I'd swap Guthrie for Tiote and put Raylor at LB, Santon on bench.
  16. exactly. Liverpool have one trophy in the cupboard, are 7th in the league and in the semi final of another major cup, to "show for their money". These sort of knee jerk short term reactions, based on one season or a short run of results, that try to "prove" selling and replacing is a viable alternative to genuine ambition and building and improving, are a joke. Anybody who knows anything about football knows such policies do not succeed in the long run. But you have to look at Arsenal as well. They spend less than us but look how they are doing? It is possible.
  17. Its one of them isnt it. Would you rather we spent the £50 odd million sunderland have and be where they are in the league? The argument then of course is if we had spent what they had where could we have been? Trouble is, there is no guarantee. If we had spent what they had our team would look different and that doesnt mean we would necessarily be further up the table. Any "possible" scenario is pure speculation. Fact is, we're in 6th spending (or not) what we have and that surely is better than being here having spent more?
  18. and it burns burns burns and the flames got higher...
  19. This is them fucked imo. I use a courier that will take anything around the UK for £7.50 up to 20kg. For postage, we probably spend £200 a month ish (this is at work) so with these changes I am already looking to see if customer will accept email invoices and statements which is the bulk of my postage. So far from being the increase they needed to be profitable, I reckon this could backfire and force people to look for alternatives.
  20. Bottom line : We're in a better position today than we were this time last season on the pitch where it matters. Absolutely anything else is effectively a moot point. As it stands I'd go with Chez here. From where we are today do I think we will have a stronger team this time next season? Yes. How that is achieved I dont care so long as that is the result.
