The trains would have run on time. 'Now arriving on Platform 4, the 9:29am to the Franz Beckenbauer Death Camp.'

Fair play to Shola like, especially with some of the pathetic one eyedness that goes on with him. Has a cracking game and still get's jumped on and the twat in front of me who constantly gives him shit couldn't even bring himself to clap him off. Absolutely pathetic. In control, but we really should should have had a third to kill it off then got the cigars and brandy out. Well played Cisse with the timing of his run for that wrongly adjudged offside goal as well. Maybe, just maybe, he's been working on it? Let's hope so.

I never asked for stuff as a kid either. We never had that much money and were never brought up as greedy kids. It's one of the reasons I have to ask people to calm down with xmas presents for the bairn as I don't want her to be one of these kids who wants and expects everything. Lass at work has an 18 month old and she says she's bought him 30 odd presents and he'll be getting more. Scary, pointless, and just a pissing contest. Some quality Ales and a good book, that's all I ever want these days! *puffs pipe*

I think you're taking it far too personally and overthinking it. My point is that the standard in the SPL is currently piss poor. Celtic do fantastically well in the CL by over performing as, compared to the usual weekly dross, they are excited and motivated and evey game is a cup final. It's only natural. Celtic are a massive club. A massive club who fail to come anywhere near selling out SPL games. Why? Because the standard is shite. You're spot on with it being about money, the rest of the league(s) just can't compete anywhere near with the two Glasgow clubs for transfer fees and salaries. As an aside, I would LOVE the PL bubble to burst and it no longer being about the money. Sadly though, it's a pipe dream. -

Good work CT. Seriously, good stuff. -
The Tories are all about letting big business and capital organisations to do what they want..their whole ethos is arms length. So, do you favour a government who gets involved in these decisions or not? Bit confused.

Trillians has been saved apparently, lots of bids for it. Was just discussing Little Jeff the other day with someone as well; 'Some cunt has just asked for me to play some fucking chart shite. Fuck off'. His memorial stone is also right next to my Dad's at SJP. Good bedfellows.

I never drank tea or coffee as a kid. My mam was a tea drinker and I always thought it was a bit minging. Then when I joined the cooncil at 21 all they did was drink tea and coffee.

Ashley's plan is fairly simple really. Run the club at the bare minimum but just enough to stay in the PL so he can get his money back and get the fuck out of dodge. Then he and us will be happy. It's just how long it takes for the club to pay him back and how good an offer to buy the club he gets. Sooner rather than later for everyone involved really.

Never known an Aussie side and press run their mouths off as much as this. Just goes to show how much they're shitting themselves so trying the bravado to try and wind us up.

Does anyone follow Budgie on twitter? He's as mental as he ever was. He has a massive obsession with Mourinho for some reason. I mean really, really dislikes him. Most of his tweets are about how much he hates him.

I'm not a tea drinker (massive coffee drinker) but my wife drinks gallons of the stuff and claims to not be able to function without it. It also has to be Yorkshire Gold, no compromise. She even takes Yorkshire Gold on holiday with us. Whilst I'll sometimes bring home the rola-cola version of something we have to try and save money if I was to bring home a cheaper brand of tea she would probably kill me where I stood to be honest.

But if a player looks brilliant in a piss poor league that doesn't necessarily make him a brilliant player does it? There are lads in my 5-a-side league who are untouchable and take the piss every week but I'm not expecting them to get an England call up any time soon. -
We all know he's not good enough and never will be (and gets far too much ott personal boo boy treatment off sections of the crowd for me like) but me and the lads have this theory that it's written in the stars for him to do something historic for the club. Like we're going to reach a cup final (don't laugh) and he'll be the one who pops up with the winner. For all his shitness, you just get this feeling he will write himself into folklore somehow..bit like his mackem slayer tag but much more important.

Yup, I've always said to play him as a second striker wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. But has been mentioned, Pardew has a system he sticks with and HBA doesn't currently fit into it. He either needs to adapt to it or Pardew needs to change the system. A criticism I do have of his game is that he's not great at finding space for himself off the ball. He doesn't really ghost into positions and lose markers. Again though, a system which splits defenders all over the place giving him that space isn't a million miles away when you consider some of the pace we have up top in Remy and Gouffran. The two could almost act as decoys for him at times. See, I'm not always on the lads back, I recognise his talent and if there is a way of using it then I'm all for it. But current system, na.

I haven't clicked on that as I'm at work but I'm guessing he's not at the match.. Reminds me of a programme I was watching about monster hunters on Discovery a few weeks ago. This US crack pot group of monster believers were off hunting some strange beast in the jungle of a remote area of Asia and in the middle of nowhere one of them stumbles across a native from this tiny village. And he's got a toon top on.
-
Aye, we've thought that. That when he plays some of our players (whether consciously or subconsciously) give him the ball and then sort of back off him/fail to join in the play. I have been critical of him, but only because I get frustrated at those who refuse to criticise him in the slightest. I still think the lad is quality, but both he and the management need to find a way to bring that quality to the forefront in a consistent manner. It's almost like they stick him out there and say 'you just do your own thing' rather than actually thinking about the system. Neither beneficial to him nor the team. Like I said, been critical of the lad, but it would give me no greater pleasure than to watch him rip teams a new arsehole every week and scream in goal after goal. Get some of the factors around him and the team right and this is still very possible.

I got to go on the pitch when they knocked down the old stand to put the Milburn stand up. We were in town shopping so my old man thought it was a great excuse to escape the tedious exercise my mother was putting us through to say we would go to have a look at how the work was going. When we turned up there was a security bloke and a couple of workers there and after a quick friendly chat to the them they let us both onto the pitch to have a look around. Would never happen now like.

I was visiting the wife's family down in Shropshire in the summer and there were some traditional Morris Dancers on when we were visiting one of the local villages. Anyway, they were all blacked up like the black and white minstrels and apparently, so I was told, it was all to do with coal mining. It wasn't just smudges of soot like, it was proper thick caked on black oval faces so you could see why people might still think it was a bit off.

It took me a while to twig that Dwight Yorke joke, which I'm actually delighted at because it meant that was the last place I was looking...
-
Yup, he's also weak as piss, which I eluded to. They're like for like defensibly is my point. Coming forward though, Gouffran has been far more effective. Far less-headless-chicken-free-kick-looking.

I don't see what his beef is. If he a true Celtic fan who watches then week in week out then he must admit that the standard up there at the moment is woeful. How can we rate Foster at international level when he plays at such a low standard every week? I'm not having a dig at the SPL, don't take it so personally, I'm just being honest about it. To be fair, Celtic are not running away with it because without Rangers I think they are quite naturally struggling to motivate themselves. Before I get the old 'beat Barcelona 1-0' stuff either, fair play to them in the CL, they've had a go in the group stages and every game is a cup final. I'm not having a go a personal snipe at Celtic, but that league is what it is.
