Which of the "other 14" would you take the front line of?
sweetleftpeg replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
Something we could really do with, and I only say this as we are a little bit over eager to hoof, is a big bastard who is strong in the air and on the deck. We really lack a forward who can do this. -
If you look through my posts, you'll see its been a gradual evolution from young jovial 25 year old to miserable and cynical 33 year old. The club take the blame for 80% of that.
-
This seemed like the best place to put my 10,000 post. I'd like to thank my wife and the cat. And work for not blocking this place.
-
That's the thing, confusion rains. One week it's 'we need a few more bodies' and the next week it's 'we're fine, the squad is strong etc.' There is no clarity to it, probably because Pardew, bless him, has no fucking idea what is going on.
-
They're like one of those snidy people you work with form time to time who say one thing to your face and do another behind your back.
-
You see, for me, I would be more onside if the club just turned round in July and said 'you know what, we're happy with what we've got, maybe add a centre forward (Remy) and if we identity someone else within our financial constraints that's too good a chance to turn down then it's a bonus.' It's the patronising contradictions I can't stand. Arse and elbows.

He already has my money, and the boycott would give the S***** D***** brand even more publicity, which is EXACTLY what he wants. In fact, this would play in to his hands and he'll be begging us to do it.
-
I really like George Caulkin actually, he's always seemed sound and a bit batty as well.
-
He's a very talented boy, which is where the frustration comes from. I think it's a combination of believing his own hype and poor decision making. Like me and my mate said at the game, for all the running into walls and not playing an easy ball when it's on, I bet he lashes in a wonder goal. He's also a massive fan divider like Robert was. I think some fans don't take kindly if you criticise him which is a poor really. He does have the touch of genius about him, but he can be shite or non existrant in a few games and some fans take it personally if he gets stick for it.
-
We'll end up with Carlton Cole man, bang on.
-
I think Marveux will have to step aside. We watched him everytime we lost the ball on Sat and his workrate and defensive awareness is very poor. Which is fine, except so is Ben Arfas and we can't afford to be playing two midfielders who can't/won't defend, therefore it has to be Ben Arfa you play.

I usually run 4-5 times a week, ranging from 4 to 7 mile runs depending on time/how arsed I am, although doing a 10 miler once a week at the minute with the GNR coming up. Only exercise I do really since I gave up football, although looking to get back in to that in next few weeks. Still love running, although the winter runs can be a little bit difficult to get yourself motivated for I still get out as often. Just download some cracking podcasts and away you go. Find it stress relieving and bit of escapism as well.

I think what the last few pages show is that it is no longer the taboo 'pull yourself together man' subject that it used to be.

Good luck Rob, I've got a very close family member who was diagnosed a decade ago and has had ups and downs..still does..but is doing brilliantly now. For those with severe cases of depression it's not about a 'cure', it's about coping mechanisms. I highly recommend this book, they gave it to me to explain how they felt because they couldn't say it.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Had-Black-Dog-Matthew-Johnstone/dp/1845295897

It's just not happening for him at the moment, but as we saw two seasons ago, give him service and he's lethal. As much as I'm frustrated at how he struggles to stay onside and is sometimes weak as piss on the ball, I struggle to believe his purple patch was a one off.
-
Kevin Phillips.
-
I agree to a certain extent. Who is cheap, available, and bound to piss us off? Howard Wilkinson.
-
I think Pardew is doomed like. I also think he knows it. Kinnear will definitely be put in charge, despite what he says on the contrary, because the hierarchy have shown before that they're lazy tight bastards and putting Kinnear in charge is the cheap and easy option. As much as I question Pardew tactically, if he sacked the alternative is much, much, worse. It's fucking sickening isn't it?
-
I have to say, I don't expect us to sign anyone either. If we don't, then that will definitely be the end of Pardew, as the club will have to get rid of him if results don't pick up as I imagine they'll play the 'we didn't sign anyone because the manager said the squad was strong enough' card/bullshit. Then it'll be Joe in charge. Jesus.

Season Ticket Renewal/Apathy - £25 Half Season tickets
sweetleftpeg replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye, I eventually got sent to the Box Office, and joined the massive queue of other people who had not had their tickets turned on. The queue was even bigger when I got out. So there must have been hundreds of fans who were affected. Is there an apology or even an explanation from the club? Is there shite. Like I said before though, the rot starts at the top. If those at the top couldn't give a shite then why should those at the bottom? Premier League club my arse. -

I still the enjoy the craic with the lads I go with whom I'm gone with for years. If I was going on my own or the others had jacked it in then I would probably be questioning more whether to stick or not. The club get no more money off me that my season ticket though, I haven't bought any merchandise from the club shop or anywhere else for 10 years. No pies or pints at the ground, nowt. Don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere in another thread but I had a real issue on Saturday in that my card didn't work at the turnstile and the attitude and general unhelpfulness of the stewards (sent to 3 different turnstiles and told there would be a machine to turn it on - long story, got in 20 minutes late, letter of complaint going into tomorrow) sum up how this club is now shit from top to bottom in every department. Saturday was the first time where I truly personally felt the club couldn't give a shite about any of us. -
Mines a bit boring I'm afraid. Born in Newcastle, always lived here, Dad an avid die hard, got taken properly to all games in 1988/89 season and have never stopped going since.

Cabaye's reaction just reflects the perception of how the players see the club being run; with a total lack of ambition. It's how we see it, so we'd be naive to think the players don't think the same. If the club showed ambition and that they wanted to compete then this bid would be laughed at by the club and Cabaye wouldn't give much of a shite. It seems low but Arsenal know how we work and whilst publicly the club may have leaked that they are unhappy with it I bet privately they've written down a number on a piece of paper and handed it straight back..
