  1. I watched Zenit play Moscow FC yesterday, and Arshavin absolutely destroyed them in the second half. I'd pay the £19mil for him without a doubt, and stick him on 60k a week or something. Problem is he's already on around that at Zenit and if he were to stay, his new contract would be massive.
  2. Mong-tastic. Living half a mile away from the Emirates for the last few years, i don't think i've ever seen a turban round here. Turkish, Greeks, old Irish guys, local pikeys yeah, but never a turban. But that's moving away from the main point of the thread.. A buyout to be a plaything of an individual, ala Chelsea and Abramovich doesn't really appeal.
  3. sunderland spending £23m on Kaboul, Malbrangue, Chimbonda & Tainio according to the times. nearly £6mil each...
  4. Boa Morte doesn't fit the criteria we're looking at, surely? will be extremely underwhelmed if he signs.
  5. by fuck lad, you're a gold mine of knowledge aren't you ? Yep - probably the fifth most knowledgable person on this board.
  6. Haven't they been quite accurate with their stories recently? They certainly had Mort leaving before everyone else.. I seem to remember people thinking that the mail have got a decent source at the club, as they've been getting things pretty much spot on recently, in regard to us anyway.
  7. How long more before he can put a decent cross in? Get rid if a decent offer comes in. If the interest from Liverpool is genuine (which would be staggering), then I'd imagine we'll probably end up getting Riise and a bit of pocket change for Milner.
  8. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3637465,00.html Kevin Keegan has reportedly put Everton playmaker Mikel Arteta top of his shopping list after pushing Emre towards the Newcastle exit door. Turkish midfielder Emre has been given permission to discuss personal terms with Fenerbahce after the Magpies settled on a fee with last season's Champions League quarter-finalists. The 27-year-old does not figure in Keegan's long-term plans for the club, unlike classy Spaniard Arteta who is now his number one transfer target. The Toon boss is desperate inject more creativity into his side after seeing them score just 45 goals in 38 Premier League games last season. Keegan sees Arteta as the ideal central-midfield replacement for injury-plagued Emre, and is hoping his ambitious bid for Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and the chance to play in front of over 52,000 fans week-in, week-out will lure him to St James' Park.
  9. I think it's clear that the pull of the club brought him back. You can really tell his expression change when talking about the toon, quite obviously. His comments on the directors of football seem a bit more interesting in the current context of Wise and co.
  10. I took the survey, and it's pointless. I don't want a better 'matchday experience' or whatever the hell that is. Putting on other forms of entertainment of any kind means fuck all. It's simple, pub before game, get to ground 10minutes before kick-off, leave ground after final whistle and either go home/pub. Job is a good one.
  11. Surprisingly negative on Newcastle there, I thought. Still, he was absolute shite too much of the time, he was at fault for the two goals we conceded away to Inter and lost out on the 2 points that would have got us through into the old knock out stages.. And that goal against Barcelona. He’s got the reputation for a reason.
  12. I think it's between pretty much going to go down to between us and Bolton, and their run in is harder than ours. On the BBC predictor thing, i've got us finishing 17th with 32 and Bolton going down with 30..
  13. Yeah, there are a few on footballstreaming.info
  14. footballstreaming.info Smith and Butt start as expected.
  15. FOOTBALL: Middlesbrough's Jonathan Woodgate is in advanced talks with Newcastle, BBC Newcastle believes. More soon. BBC Sports news ticker.
  16. He cant just invent numerical questions for fucks sake Thats the $60 answer i suppose eh? not being purposefully dense there? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_$64,000_Question
  17. Well I dunno about favourite, but your odds are down to 20-1 now. Still favourite at 4/1 on Betfair.. although drifting a tiny bit.
  18. I've got a semi at the mere thought of not settling for someone like Hughes..
  19. Deschamp to Newcastle story in France Football http://www.francefootball.fr/FF/breves2008..._181148Dev.html Which sort of translates into: The ex-captain of Blue is in liaison with the leaders of the English club. Loan to be involved again, after Monaco and Juve, its the first two experiments. Newcastle is today in the search of a technician, foreigner preferably and probably French, "to give to the play of Magpies a continental side that it does not have" says one on the other side of the channel and if its choice is not yet definitively made, it is Didier Deschamps, this Tuesday, which holds the cord. The contacts go back to Sunday, just after they boxed a severe 6-0 in Old Trafford, in front of Manchester United. Consequently, of the English managers the few free trainers tracked and from scale and the name of the ex-captain of Blue quickly emerged in the medium from some others (Gerard Houllier, in particular). In any case, Deschamps is awaited in the hours which come to England (or elsewhere) in order to discuss with the leaders Newcastle to finalize a possible agreement there. It will meet there in particular the new president, Mike Ashley, as young as him (39 years), and the chairman, Chris Mort. Contacted at the end of the last season by Manchester City, another club of First League, the old coach of Monaco and Juventus Turin had not accepted the proposals of the second club of Manchester because all the conditions were not met (not French college for his/her son, in particular.) In Newcastle either but like Deschamps truly desire of (Re) working has and which it is not certain that at the end of the next season, there will be many interesting clubs in search for trainer, it holds a beautiful advisability there of returning in the circuit.
