  1. I went to watch Lazio vs AC Milan about 10 years ago with the wife. Ground was half empty, but it was still a good experience. I checked the kick off time on the Sky Sports app and we got into the ground in plenty of time, only to realise the kick off time was listed in UK time rather than Italian time and we were actually an hour too early https://www.espn.com/soccer/match/_/gameId/403638/ac-milan-lazio
  2. Quarter of a century at the club, billions spent, and 1 LC and 1 EL to show for it.
  3. Aye, they're the two I'm deciding between
  4. Man Utd found out that Brentford don't roll over and sell their players cheap. Wissa may have been cheaper than £50m, but they were never selling him for the £25m we first offered
  5. No one is going to be offering £130m for Wissa or JSL, so linking their ages to resale value is irrelevant
  6. Resale value is moot if you don't plan on selling the player too. Bruno, Tonali and Gordon are all worth double what we paid for them, but it doesn't matter because we don't plan on selling them.
  7. But Wolves refused to sell JSL so it's a moot point. Our income as a club went up £70m in the 23/24 season. It's chance to have gone up again last season. So the PSR wiggle room is bigger than when we were forced to sell Anderson/Minteh. Of course we overpaid for Wissa, but we took in decent money for Almiron, Longstaff and Kelly to offset that. If you view this window as a whole, we are only sitting at £100m net spend this summer, and have signed 6 players that could slot straight into the first team.
  8. Maybe. Still big money to turn down for our 4th choice striker (Howe clearly prefers Gordon ahead of Osula when required).
  9. I mean it's not. All signs point towards us deciding after the last meeting with Isak that the situation was beyond repair and we would rather move him on than have him stinking the training ground up for the next 6 months. That's hardly a capitulation. The talks with Liverpool had obviously been going on for the last week behind the scenes.
  10. Not sure why he feels the need to broadcast to the world instead of in a text message to Isak
  11. Why shouldn't a group of grown men be doing TikTok dances? Haddaway and shite man
  12. He needs to knock this shit on the head! https://x.com/EPLBible/status/1962592769043575183
  13. So between Twitter, the Daily Mail and GB News they've created an echo chamber for a minority of knackers in this country to wind each other up with. And Starmer is daft enough to get sucked into the culture wars and populist politics to try and win the minority over, whilst alienating the people that actually voted him into power. Lib Dem/Green Party coalition it is then!
  14. The Donarumma buy suggests Trafford isn't quite up to the standard Pep thought. He's looked a little wobbly the first 3 games.
  15. https://iandunt.substack.com/p/labours-cowardice-in-the-face-of?utm_campaign=post&triedRedirect=true Nailed it
  16. 1 hour to go. I guess that's us done for incomings then. I imagine Osula will be replaced in January when Wissa is off to AFCON. We also need a Willock upgrade at some point, otherwise the squad is easily the best we've ever had.
  17. I appreciate Wissa is proven in the PL, but £55m for him when Spurs are loaning Kolo Muani makes me wonder whether we missed a trick. Probably a bit of a gamble to have 2 strikers who have never played PL football, but if Muani looks good then we might be kicking ourselves
  18. Neave is worth a punt as 3rd choice striker over Osula anyway
  19. That's mental money for a 29 year old with a year left on his deal. Does that knack some of the PSR wiggle room we've made selling Isak?
  20. Sounds like Wissa is our most likely incoming today. I've soured on him a little tbh. It's difficult to take the moral high ground in Isak and then cheer on someone that did exactly the same to his club. And he will likely cost almost half of the Isak fee, which is mental.
  21. Anyway, 12 hours to find a replacement or Howe is going to be managing with one hand tied behind his back.
