Eddie's, don't doubt the Dubs, NUFC v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Plan B is find a style of football that isn't "high energy, high press, outrun your opponents" when the entire squad is fatigued (as you keep pointing out). -

Which isn't going to happen until the players have had a Summer to recover. The lack of a plan B is becoming more obvious by the game -
Sounds like it was more about giving a narrative to the Islamaphobia rife in the party. It's just anti-extremism apparently

Sunak making a speech at 5.45 tonight. To moan about pro Gaza marches and call Labour anti-Semitic or something. Obviously top of the list of priorities atm

Missed something like 45% of games since he joined. He's done well for us, but not sure many fans would be too upset to see him replaced in the Summer

I thought that was Labours problem?
-
So Labours 5mil "new votes" are roughly (from the last election) 35% Tory, 35% non voters, 15% LibDem, 15% new voters So basically a whole cross section of society sick of the current shit show. And then a whole load more Tories jumping to reform, still undecided or dead

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Kid Dynamite replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Conor Gallagher is homegrown, so pure profit if they sell him. He's got to be worth £40-50mil (judging by how much we spent on Barnes). Wouldn't be surprised if Cucurella, Broja, Fofana end up Saudi bound too, to balance the books. £300mil on Caicedo, Fernandez and Mudryk is fucking mental though They'd have been better off sticking with Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek in the middle -
I made it

Visual representation of how fucking boring English football is these days. 5 clubs have won 38 out of the 40 available domestic trophies over the past decade.
-
FYI, our cup run to the final last year was: Tranmere A Palace H Bournemouth H Leicester H Southampton A/H The footballing Gods did us a favour and we still fucked it up

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/29/met-police-should-never-have-employed-wayne-couzens-report-finds Jesus wept. The number of times this bloke was investigated for sexual crimes before he murdered someone beggars belief

It's not particularly controversial tbh. Most jobs would suspend you on full pay if you were being investigated for a sexual crime. Not sure why MPs would expect to continue working with members of the public with that hanging over them

I'm beginning to think playing Ten Haag's Man Utd in last years final was the best chance we will have in a long time of winning a cup. What are the odds of us managing to avoid Arsenal, Liverpool and City in an entire cup run again?

Last minute winners for Chelsea and Man Utd

I'd feel left out if I wasn't on the list tbh

I eat cereal for lunch occasionally. Because I'm lazy and living the life of a 41 year old student, rather than to save money though

This whole argument about "no-go areas", btw. There is some basis to it. Knife crime amongst teenagers in London is through the roof. It's got fuck all to do with religion though. It's 14 years of Tory cuts to policing, closing of youth clubs and green spaces etc that has resulted in kids roaming inner city housing estates with nowt better to do than get sucked into bother. It happens in Sunderland with White kids. It happens in Birmingham with Asian kids. It happens in London with Black kids. It's not because of skin colour or religion though, it just so happens that in those individual cities, that group of people is the poorest, living in the shittest areas.

He's done a 540 now

Pure coincidence, but I watched Ken Loach's "The Old Oak" this morning. Literally set against the backdrop of all of the above.
