  1. Just to clarify (for my regulatory board) I don't think that people taking days off because they feel unwell with their mental health are all lazy bastards
  2. Which I didn't (just a minority of them ) Sorry to hear your bad news btw
  3. The absolute cheek of you giving me grief this morning for calling out lazy bastards
  4. There's a wider cultural shift since the shut down of industry in this country. Millions of young lads in the 60s/70s/80s knew there was a job waiting for them in a mine/shipyard/steel factory. That's not the case anymore. And since those places shut, so did the working men's clubs, bingo halls, pubs and the communities that went with them. Some of this stuff isn't rocket science. A job 40hrs a week, money in your pocket and a place to de-stress after work is enough to keep a lot of people "mentally well". We are seeing 3rd generation fall out from the damage Thatcher did to this country in the 80s.
  5. Steady on, nothing I've posted contradicts that. I've spent the past 15 years working with suicidal patients, I'm well aware of the socio-economic factors underpinning that. I hear horror stories every day. But that also gives me perspective. I also work with some staff that are grafters and some that love a sickie and play the sickness scheme. That's not intrinsically linked with mental health.
  6. Kuol joined about 6months after Ashworth. Ashby about 9months later. Forgot about him. He looks shite too
  7. Theres a bit of a leap from WW2 vets with PTSD killing themselves and kids pulling sickies mind There's some overlapping in the Venn diagram here between lazy bastards/work stress/zero resilience in young adults these days
  8. Ashworth's "buying young" model hasn't exactly been a roaring success has it? Minteh looks alright, but Kuol looks fucking hopeless from what I've seen. Hopefully this kid from City bucks the trend
  9. Didn't realise this was Lee Clark's son
  10. £19mil over 3 seasons. Everton argued it was £7.9mil. Apparently they hoped to sell Richarlison for £60mil to break even but only got £40mil on the books. There was a formula discussed to come up with the points deduction but it got scrapped apparently "The Premier League has no such published guidelines, but its chief executive Richard Masters told the panel, in his witness testimony, that the league came up with a sanctions policy at the start of this season that uses a starting position of minus six points, with an additional point docked for every £5million over the limit."
  11. They were only marginally over the FFP limit iirc. If we ended up £300mil over I reckon we would get much more than a 6pt punishment
  12. A lot of talk on Twitter about Minteh being Almiron's replacement because he's scored a few goals this season. Had a quick look on the Feyenoord forum this morning and the consensus seems to be he's fast/tricky, but has zero positional or tactical awareness. Sounds like he's a long way off being PL ready
  13. The dropped points in winnable games (not necessarily today) is starting to catch up with us. From pushing for 6th last month to potentially 11th when the 3 teams below us play their games in hand
  14. Its swings and roundabouts. He might shore up the defence at corners, but he's almost guaranteed to concede a goal on the break once every game in recent weeks
  15. Blown away in the first half. Even contest in the second half, bar a Saka wonder goal and a poor goal to concede from a corner. No shame in losing to Arsenal away, but our defence is all over the shop these days. Botman and Shar look like different players
  16. After getting murdlerised on the break again unfortunately. Today has shown we do lose elements of our game when he doesn't play, but on balance I prefer Tino there
  17. I hope dickheads don't chuck Tino under the bus after this. Would have been kinder of Howe to give him a proper go against Bournemouth and Forest rather than away to Arsenal
