  1. I'm toying with the idea of having Sky installed here in France. Had the tecnhician out to visit my place to see if it is feasible and its all good. I got the quote through and for the sky box, a square dish, cables, accessories, 1 year payment so that the french company maintains the account for you with Sky (uk address etc) and for the installation, its 1043 euros. Its 61 euros a months for the Sports package after that. Am i being a mug price wise? How much would a similar set up cost in the UK including all the above? Obviously its going to be much more expensive but is this a rip-off?
  2. If that had been your sister you'd probably be at the front of the queue.
  3. Little Chef is a disgrace to this country, when our lass came over to England for the first time and we drove past she pointed and asked what it was. I was too ashamed to tell her what lay inside, said 'nothing', blushed and stared out the window of the car.
  4. Your opinion, i personally rate him highly, gives us drive and is a sublime passer of the ball at times. I've rated him since he's been here and have never changed that opinion so the point about injured players isnt relevant. Comparing him to Butt suggests you cant spot a good player to me. Again just my opinion.
  5. + Barton, who imo is our best player and transforms the energy and creativity in midfield. Hugely missed.
  6. Yes please. But how do we do it? I'll send you some RS links tonight. The .srt files arent synchronised very well but if you know what you're doing (?) you can adjust them.
  7. I've got Gommorah on avi with english .srt files if anyone wants. Came out here last July i think.
  8. The prevailing wisdom is that one should compare apples to oranges, of course.
  9. A better 'base' to the squad and if one or two additions were made, this current squad would piss all over the previous one. Good question though.
  10. There's an excellent chapter in Stephen Levitt's Freakonomics on that very question.
  11. Have you seen Winter's match report in the Telegraph? "Blyth supporters were in similarly good heart, giving Andre Marriner, the referee, a steady stream of advice. “If that’s 10 yards, you’re not measuring my carpets,’’ came one quip. The players were constantly exhorted to get stuck into Rovers. “Close him down – like Woolies,’’ came one cry. "
  12. That move down the left towards the end of the game was utter class. One touch, pass and move stuff. Worth watching just for that moment.
  13. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...-red-cards.html "Recreativo Linense were beating Saladillo Algesiras 1-0 in the regional first division of the southern province of Cadiz before referee Jose Manuel Barro Escandon stopped the match. Escandon had already issued one red card before a fight broke out between two players which escalated into a brawl involving several players from both teams and spectators who invaded the pitch. The referee stopped the match before fleeing to the safety of the changing rooms. In his post-match report, he stated that he had sent off 19 players. Linense coach Sebastian Naranjo said the red cards were unjustifed: "After the altercation between Francis and Aguilar, there were no clashes. "The players who intervened, and even the spectators, were just trying to see that things didn't get worse. I don't know what got into the guy [the referee]." " Wtf?
  14. The Pan-ahar curry house in Newsham, Blyth is superb. Ronnie Campbell nominated it for a Houses of Parliament Curry competition and it came 2nd. Had the special on saturday night. Was delicious.

    Happy Birthday mate.
  16. She's got 4 tits. She might be related to that bint from Total Recall. You know i've got a thing about midgets with the wrong number of tits. Stop it.
  17. DK's list is pretty comprehensive but there was quite a few i'd not heard. I'm still wading though 2006/7. I'd recommend this group Midlake, they only came to my attention via the fabulously titled 'Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve remix' of a track called Roscoe. It was a bit of a shock when i heard the actual album as it sounds like it was written at the same time as Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. Bizzare but its been on my iPod everyday for the last fortnight. If Midlake does it for you then I suggest you go out and find stuff by Besnard Lakes and the Clientele. I also suggest if you haven't heard the Drones, do. Besnard Lakes are canny but the Clientele are excellent. Their EP this year is very good but their last two albums are superb. Never heard of the Drones. What are they like? The Drones are one of those quiet achiever Australian bands that are a mixture of noisy guitar, eerie vocals and good song writing. They have a bit of an association with the Dirty Three and Black Eyed Susans if you know their stuff. A bit of background > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_drones Also DK the recommendations were for Parky, I knew you were a clientele fan. Besnard Lakes are the dark horse is one of those albums that it takes four listens and then it just gets you. Have you just confused me with Parky? Chez, I have, sorry mate. In fairness my original post was inspired by the following post from Parky and then I read your praise for Midlake. In the end it's all about KK Got The Clientele on your recommendation, gave it a quick listen and liked it. Also got some Okkervill River as per DK's post and the new Fujiya & Miyagi (Lightbulbs). All good. Which Okkervill did you get. Black Sheep Boy is my favourite but that may just be because that it the one I've had longest, they have all grown on me more and more. The last Clientele album is my favourite of theirs too. Okkervill River are great, been listening to The Stage Names all day, the opening track is quality. Seem to have been listening to a lot of music from Texas recently. Not got Black Sheep Boy yet, will do soon, am sure. The Clientele one i got was God Save The Clientele, From Brighton Beach to Santa Monica is amazing but am just getting into it. Glad you liked to the DB/BE album btw
  18. It's funny but they really don't like it up them, do they? Do make yourself a little trophy for every time you "win"? No I just have a little smile for every time someone gets annoyed over something everyone else (or Happy, Chezzy & Manc-Foplite and others anyway) does. Do you design the trophies so they just "happen" to be the perfect length for a ticklesome prostate massage? Just out of curiosity, how long is that exactly?
